Berriedale is a suburb in the northern suburbs of Hobart, capital of Tasmania, Australia. It is in the local government area of City of Glenorchy. The suburb is situated between the suburbs of Chigwell and Rosetta. There are no educational institutions within Berriedale, however there are primary schools in both neighbouring suburbs and a high school in Rosetta. The suburb is split in two (northeast/southwest) by the Brooker Highway; it is, therefore, not uncommon to hear the terms East Berriedale and West Berriedale, with the former half following the edge of the Derwent River and the latter extending into the rural Derwent Valley Region.

Montrose Bay High School is a government co-educational comprehensive secondary school with campuses located in Rosetta and Goodwood, northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 2010, the school caters for approximately 700 students from Years 7 to 10. The school is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education.In 2019 student enrolments were 625. The school principal is Pieta Langham-McKay. Montrose Bay High was formed in 2010 through a merger of Rosetta High School and Claremont High School.

Claremont High School was a government co-educational comprehensive secondary school located in Claremont, a northern suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 1961 on the site of Windemere House, the school catered for students from Years 7 to 10 and was the main high school for the Claremont area. In 2011 Claremont High School merged with Rosetta High School to from Montrose Bay High School.

Rosetta is a residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Glenorchy in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north-west of the town of Glenorchy. The 2016 census recorded a population of 2731 for the state suburb of Rosetta. It is a suburb of Hobart. The suburb is situated between the suburbs of Berriedale and Montrose and is approximately 15 minutes drive from Hobart. There is a primary school and a high school in Rosetta. The Brooker Highway runs along the eastern border of the suburb, next to the Derwent River.

Montrose is a residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Glenorchy in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) north of the town of Glenorchy. The 2016 census recorded a population of 2152 for the state suburb of Montrose. It is a suburb of Hobart. The suburb is situated in close proximity with Rosetta. Montrose is the suburb directly north of Glenorchy. It is also in Montrose where the Montrose Foreshore Community Park is located.

Chigwell is a residential locality in the local government area (LGA) of Glenorchy in the Hobart LGA region of Tasmania. The locality is about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north-west of the town of Glenorchy. The 2016 census recorded a population of 2002 for the state suburb of Chigwell.It is a suburb in the 'northern suburbs' area of Hobart. The suburb is situated between the suburbs of Berriedale, Claremont and Glenlusk. The suburb shares its border with Berriedale along the Brooker Highway and the streets north of Berriedale Rd. Until the late 1990s, the suburb boundary was closer to the main road. The suburb shares with adjacent suburbs a range of older houses and properties.The area was originally made up of public housing, however much of the public housing stock has now been sold to private owners. The suburb is considered as a middle class socio-economic area, typical of many of the suburbs within Glenorchy City Council. Chigwell primary school had its name changed to the Mt Faulkner primary school.It is the location of the Metro Claremont home ground.

Claremont College is a government comprehensive senior secondary school located in Claremont in the northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Established in 1990, the college caters for approximately 500 students in Years 11, 12 and optional Year 13 and is administered by the Tasmanian Department of Education. The college provides a full range of courses, preparing students for university, TAFE, traineeships and employment with courses delivered both on- and off-campus. The college overlooks the Derwent River, and is located approximately 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) from the Hobart central business district. The college facilities include a drama auditorium, sport and recreation centre, library, various computer laboratories, canteen, and many sporting fields.

Cadbury's Chocolate Factory (also known as Cadbury's Claremont and colloquially as Cadbury's) is the largest chocolate factory in the Southern Hemisphere, producing a company-record of over 60,000 tonnes (59,000 long tons; 66,000 short tons) of chocolate in 2021. Established at Claremont, Tasmania in 1921, the factory and surrounding model village estate marked Cadbury's first business expansion outside the United Kingdom. Cadbury's Claremont is currently owned by the multinational conglomerate Mondelēz International, which purchased Cadbury in 2010.

Northgate Shopping Centre is the third largest shopping centre in Tasmania. Located in Glenorchy approximately 10 kilometres northwest of Hobart. The shopping centre is located on the Main Road within the CBD of Glenorchy with all stores located on the one level and a large undercover carpark situated below the main building. It was constructed on the site that had been that of the Glenorchy Tannery also known as Cook's Tannery.The centre was opened in November 1986 as a convenience centre anchored by a Coles Supermarket along with 46 speciality stores. The centre has since been refurbished and expanded in October 1995. The shopping centre has had various calamities, in 2002 power cuts, and was involved in a fire in 2005. It had also been a property within the Westfield range of centres in Australia.Target and Best & Less to the centre as major anchor retailers were added in the early 2000s. There are also approximately 65 other speciality stores. As of 2009, the centre has been owned by Novion Property Group (CFSGAM) who merged into Vicinity Centres in 2015. In 2016, the centre introduced a freshly renovated main entrance, and rebranded the store to use Vicinity's ribbon as their logo. The anchoring Target department store closed permanently in early 2022. On 4 November 2022, a Woolworths supermarket was opened in the store space previously occupied by Target.

Dominic College is a Roman Catholic, co-educational, day school, located in Glenorchy, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Dominic College caters for students from Kindergarten to Grade 10.

Claremont is a rural / residential locality in the local government areas (LGA) of Glenorchy (75%) and Derwent Valley (25%) in the Hobart and South-east LGA regions of Tasmania. The locality is about 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) north of the town of Glenorchy. The 2021 census recorded a population of 8,397 for the state suburb of Claremont.

KGV Park, or simply KGV (King George V) is home to Football Federation Tasmania, the governing body for association football in Tasmania, and home to the Glenorchy Knights football team. It is referred to as the Home of Football in Tasmania. It is located in the heart of Glenorchy less than 1 kilometre from the Glenorchy CBD, 7 kilometres from Hobart City.
