Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve

Cockshoot Broad is a 5-hectare (12-acre) nature reserve north-east of Norwich in Norfolk. It is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust. It is part of the Bure Broads and Marshes Site of Special Scientific Interest, and the Broadland Ramsar site and Special Protection Area, and The Broads Special Area of Conservation. It is also part of the Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve and Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I.The water quality of this broad is very high and it has large beds of water lilies, which provide a habitat for many insects, including red eyed and variable damselflies.Access to the boardwalk through the site is by boat only.

Horning is an ancient village and parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 11 km2 and had a population of 1,033 in the 2001 census. Horning parish lies on the northern bank of the River Bure south of the River Thurne and is located in The Broads National Park. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of North Norfolk, although areas alongside the rivers and broads fall into the executive area of the Broads Authority.

Hoveton Little Broad, also known as Black Horse Broad, is a secluded broad of fairly open aspect, in the middle reaches of the River Bure between Hoveton and Horning, Norfolk, in The Norfolk Broads. Privately owned, it was the site of direct action in the mid-20th century by local people hoping to establish the right of free public access to all Broadland waterways.

Hobb's Mill, also known as Hobbs Drainage Mill, is an open trestle windpump which stands by the side of the River Bure in Horning, North Norfolk, England, and is a Grade II* listed structure.The mill was built before 1930, probably in the late 19th century. The frame is made of wood, with four braced cant posts standing on brick piers supporting a weatherboarded cap and fantail. In the picture, the four sails are missing. The mill was unique in that it was the only trestle mill to operate a scoop wheel. Both the mill and scoop wheel have been partly restored by the Windmill Trust.

Bure Broads and Marshes is a 741.1-hectare (1,831-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-east of Norwich in Norfolk. Most of it is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I and National Nature Reserve. Two areas are nature reserves managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Cockshoot Broad and Ranworth Broad. It is part of the Broadland Ramsar site and Special Protection Area and The Broads Special Area of Conservation,This is described by Natural England as a "nationally and internationally important wetland complex", which is situated on fenland peats in the floodplain of the River Bure. A notable feature is an extensive area of swamp alder carr on unstable peats and mud. There are a number of rare bird and butterfly species.

Woodbastwick is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is located on the River Bure between Cockshoot Broad and Salhouse Broad, within The Broads and close to Bure Marshes NNR (national nature reserve). The city of Norwich lies 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to the south-west.The village name relates to bast, a pliable substance found under the bark of the lime tree. Danish and Saxon invaders used bast as a form of binding to tie leggings and other items. As a consequence, Woodbastwick's village sign shows two invaders tying their leggings. The village contains thatched houses set around a village green, and the church of St Fabian & St Sebastian, also thatched. The Woodforde Broadland Brewery is located in the village and produces cask ales such as Wherry Bitter, Nelson's Revenge, Norfolk Nog and Headcracker. The civil parish has an area of 19.04 km2 (7.35 sq mi) and in the 2001 census had a population of 362 in 157 households, increasing to a population of 399 in 168 households at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Broadland. Woodbastwick Hall is the seat of the Cator family.

BeWILDerwood is an adventure park for families located in Horning, a parish in the English county of Norfolk. Self-described as a "curious treehouse adventure," the attraction is situated in a woodland area and features treehouses, rope bridges, slides, zip wires, a maze, and two special areas for children under five called "Toddlewood-on-the-Hill" and "Tiptoe Valley". The original branding was created by Purple Circle.Entrance is as if to the whole forest and the adventure world of rope bridges and treehouses is a river ride away, through the 'swamp' and past the creature who blows bubbles to the surface. The park is set up to give a more natural appearance than typical urban ones with extensive use of natural materials. Swings are three people wide as are some of the scary slides. The park's rides and other features are based on characters and events in A Boggle at BeWILDerwood and The Bewilderbats, books for children written by BeWILDerwood's owner Tom Blofeld and illustrated by .... A Boggle at BeWILDerwood recounts the adventures of Swampy the marsh boggle as he struggles to overcome his fears and be a little braver. In the sequel, Bewilderbats, Swampy and his friends set out to rescue a tiny Twiggle who is stuck up a tree.

Woodforde's Brewery is a brewery located on Slad Lane in the village of Woodbastwick, in the county of Norfolk, England. The brewery produced its first commercial brew in 1981 from original brewery in the village of Drayton north east of Norwich. In 1996 the brewery's popular Wherry bitter became CAMRA Supreme Champion Beer of Britain.

Hoveton Great Broad lies within The Broads in Norfolk, England, between Wroxham Broad and Salhouse Broad. The broad is connected to the River Bure, but not open to boat traffic. Hoveton Great Broad is part of an ancient navigation that has been deliberately allowed to become closed off to any public access since well before the last War. Recent changes in the official Ordnance Survey tide line mean that it is now tidal water and therefore closed illegally. A nature trail was laid out in 1968 - the first in the region. It is accessible only by boat. Mooring is allowed on the north bank of the Bure, opposite Salhouse Broad. Natural England has established a Nature trail. Salhouse Broad, one of the Norfolk Broads, is situated on the River Bure in The Broads in Norfolk, England. The broad is situated just off the river and attracts little through traffic. It lies south of Hoveton Great Broad and approximately half a mile north of the village of Salhouse. Salhouse Broad is accessible from the landward side and moorings are also permitted to fee-paying boat visitors. It is privately owned and managed in conjunction with the community of Salhouse. The broad covers an area of 32 acres (130,000 m2) and is home to many forms of wildlife including the Norfolk hawker dragonfly and the swallowtail butterfly. Black swans have been recorded on this broad. Salhouse Broad is unusual in being the result of the flooding of tenth century sand and gravel diggings, not of peat diggings like most of the broads.

The Church of St Helen, Ranworth, Norfolk is a church of medieval origins notable for its collection of church paintings. Known as "the Cathedral of The Broads", the church dates from the 14th century, although with origins in Saxon times. It contains a major collection of medieval artefacts, in particular the church's rood screen and the Ranworth Antiphoner, a liturgical manuscript. The church remains an active parish church and is a Grade I listed building.
