Les Adrets-de-l'Estérel

The Massif de l'Esterel (Occitan Provençal: Esterèu; English: Esterel Massif) is a Mediterranean coastal mountain range in the departments of Var and Alpes-Maritimes on the French Riviera. Neighbouring cities are Mandelieu-la-Napoule and Cannes on the east, as well as Saint-Raphaël and Fréjus on the west. The soil and rocks of the range are of volcanic origin, composed mainly of rhyolite, which gives the hills a red color. The terrain is rugged, with deep ravines and oak forests. The highest point of the massif is Mont Vinaigre (618 metres or 2,028 feet). The massif covers an area of 320 km² (123.5 sqmi), of which 130 km² (50.1 sqmi) are protected by the Forêt domaniale de l'Esterel (national forest). The nature reserve offers hiking and mountain biking trails including the GR 49 and GR 51. The Esterel mountains also host the Pierre & Vacances holiday village Cap Esterel. The Corniche d'Or, a touristic road along the coast and Île d'Or, links Saint-Raphaël and Cannes.

The chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Jérusalem (Our Lady of Jerusalem) is a Catholic chapel of the Diocese of Fréjus-Toulon. The chapel is the last work of French poet Jean Cocteau.

The Mémorial des guerres en Indochine (Indochina War Memorial) is located in the municipality of Fréjus, Gallieni sector, in the Var department. It was inaugurated on 16 February 1993 by François Mitterrand, President of France. The bodies resting in the national necropolis of Fréjus are those of soldiers Morts pour la France (Died for France) who died either between 1940 and 1945, or, for the most part, between 1946 and 1954 in the First Indochina War.

Tanneron (French pronunciation: [tanʁɔ̃]; Occitan: Tanaron) is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France.

Estérel Côte d'Azur Agglomération (before May 2021: Var Estérel Méditerranée) is a communauté d'agglomération, an intercommunal structure, centred on the cities of Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël. It is located in the Var department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, southeastern France. It was created in January 2013. Its seat is in Saint-Raphaël. Its population was 112,812 in 2017.

Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Saint-Raphaël (French: [sɛ̃ ʁafaɛl]; Occitan: Sant Rafèu Occitan pronunciation: [ˈsan raˈfɛw]) is a commune in the Var department, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Southeastern France. Immediately to the west of Saint-Raphaël lies a larger and older town, Fréjus; together they form an urban agglomeration known as Var Estérel Méditerranée, which also encompasses the smaller communes of Les Adrets-de-l'Estérel, Puget-sur-Argens and Roquebrune-sur-Argens. In the second half of the 19th century, the township came under the influence of Mayor Felix Martin and writer Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr; owing to their efforts and its beneficial climate the commune developed into a seaside resort popular with artists, sportsmen and politicians. It is the seat of the canton of Saint-Raphaël, also encompassing Fréjus and Les Adrets-de-l'Estérel, which is the economic and cultural centre of Eastern Var, within the arrondissement of Draguignan. Its inhabitants are called Raphaëlois in French generally, or Rafelencs in Provençal Occitan.

The Missiri Mosque is a former French military community center inspired by sub-Saharan Islamic architecture. It was constructed in 1928–1930 for the Senegalese Tirailleurs based in military camps in Fréjus, southern France. Although its appearance evokes that of a mosque, its purpose and uses remained secular. The building was included in the supplementary inventory of French historic monuments on 18 June 1987.

Saint-Raphaël-Valescure station is a railway station serving the town Saint-Raphaël, Var department, southeastern France. It is situated on the Marseille–Ventimiglia railway. The station is served by high speed trains to Paris, Nancy and Nice, and regional trains (TER Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) to Nice, Marseille and Toulon. Please notice that this station, even served by TGV cars, is NOT high speed as the specific track, needed for high speed up to 320km/h goes only to Marseilles St Charles station. All trains from Marseille to the Italian border (Menton) run at slow speed.

The Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort is located at Tourrettes, Var, just southeast of Fayence, in the Provence region of France. The Bouge family owned the estate in the 18th century. Actor Sean Connery then bought the property comprising the château and its surrounding 266 hectares. He had it for 20 years before selling it to Dietmar Hopp in 1999. Hopp transformed the property into an exclusive golf resort with luxury properties, two championship golf courses and a world-class spa. It was ranked 5th in the CNN Money dream vacation home guide. The domain is 30–45 minute from Cannes, Nice, and St Tropez, and 1 hour drive from Monaco.

Montauroux (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃toʁu]; Occitan: Montauron) is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. Its neighbour town is the smaller, picturesque Callian, which can be seen across a small valley. In 2019, Montauroux had a population of 6,548.

Fréjus (French: [fʁeʒys] ; Occitan: Frejús [fɾeˈdʒys]) is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. It neighbours Saint-Raphaël, effectively forming one urban agglomeration. The north of the commune forms part of the Massif de l'Esterel. On 2 December 1959, the Malpasset Dam, on the Reyran River above the city of Fréjus, ruptured, killing over 400 people.
