West Hampstead

St Margaret's School (Hampstead) is a private girls' school in Hampstead, North London. The school has 150 girls (ages 4 to 16) and 24 teachers. In 2008 and 2009 the school came top of the Sunday Times' Small Independent Schools' league table.

One Oak at 16 Redington Road in the Frognal area of Hampstead, London NW3, is a detached house built in 1889 by the architect Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo. The house has been listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England since January 1999.The house was designed by Mackmurdo for a Mrs Geddes in 1889, it was subsequently occupied by the sculptor Hamo Thornycroft and by the engineer Owen Williams. A wing and separate studio were added to the house by Maxwell Ayrton in 1927 for Williams. The interior of the house contains many decorative features designed by Mackmurdo including decorated skirting boards, doorways, cornices and fireplaces. The house is ordered into six bays with tall sash windows, surmounted by a mansard roof.Bridget Cherry, writing in the 1998 London: North edition of the Pevsner Architectural Guides, described the 'simplicity' of One Oak as 'forward looking for its date'.

Frognal and Fitzjohns is a ward in the London Borough of Camden, the United Kingdom. It covers the western areas of Hampstead, between Hampstead Village and Finchley Road and takes its name from Frognal and Fitzjohn's Avenue. Like all other wards of Camden, Frognal and Fitzjohns is represented by three councillors on Camden Borough Council. These councillors are currently Siobhan Baillie, Andrew Mennear and Gio Spinella, all of the Conservative Party. The population of this ward at the 2011 Census was 11,986.The ward will be abolished for the 2022 election, and part of its area will become the newly created Frognal ward, with a smaller area transferred to Belsize.

JW3, also known as Jewish Community Centre London, is an arts, culture and entertainment venue, an educational facility and a social and community hub in north London. It is located at 341–351 Finchley Road, London, and opened on 29 September 2013. Describing itself as "a new postcode for Jewish life", the venue's name is a wordplay on its postal address, situated in the NW3 postcode area.JW3 was the brainchild of Dame Vivien Duffield DBE, who contributed £40m of the project's £50m cost – over the 10 years it took to bring it to reality – through the Clore Duffield Foundation. It was inspired by her 2003 visit to the Jewish Community Centre in Manhattan, New York.

Hampstead Synagogue is an Orthodox synagogue in Dennington Park Road, West Hampstead, London, England. The synagogue building, constructed 1892–1901, is Grade II listed with English Heritage. The synagogue is run under the auspices of the United Synagogue.The rabbi for this synagogue is Rabbi Dr Michael Harris, the hazzan is Rabbi Shlomo Gerzi, and the administrator is Candice Janet. The rabbi and hazzan lead spiritual services multiple times a week for all who wish to come including regular services every Friday evening and Saturday morning, on festivals, and at other times. The community also holds learning events, concerts, and social meetings for the members and visitors. The Hampstead Synagogue holds some of the largest seasonal celebrations in the area.

Fortune Green is a small area in West Hampstead, London Borough of Camden. Lying on the south-west side of the Finchley Road, Hampstead town council decided to build its overflow cemetery there in the 1840s. A guide to Hampstead Cemetery, with short biographies of selected grave occupants and maps of their location and illustrations of the more prominent monuments, was published in 2000.It now lies in the London Borough of Camden as a ward. The ward has existed since the May 1978 local elections and was redrawn in May 2002. The population of this ward at the 2011 Census was 11,740 and is associated closely with West Hampstead, evidenced in the joint Fortune Green & West Hampstead Neighbourhood Plan adopted by Camden Council in September 2015.

Hendon South was a constituency in the former Municipal Borough of Hendon (in 1965 subsumed into the London Borough of Barnet) which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was created for the 1945 general election, when the Hendon seat was split into two, and abolished for the 1997 general election, with Childs Hill, Garden Suburb, and Golders Green wards going to Finchley and Golders Green along with wards from Finchley. Hendon and West Hendon wards were transferred to new constituency: Hendon.

Finchley Road & Frognal railway station is on Finchley Road in the London Borough of Camden in north London. It is on the North London line, and the station and all trains serving it are operated by London Overground. It is in Travelcard Zone 2. The station is about five minutes' walk from Finchley Road Underground station, and is marked as an official out-of-system interchange.

Shepherd's Well at 5 Frognal Way in Frognal, London is a detached house that was designed by the architect Adrian Gilbert Scott as his personal residence. It was built between 1929 and 1930 and has been Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England since January 1999.The Historic England heritage listing for Shepherd's Well highlights its "grey-brown handmade bricks, red pantiled roof" and "white-painted wooden sash windows" and detects influence of Edwin Lutyens in its design.Bridget Cherry, writing in the 1998 London: North edition of the Pevsner Architectural Guides described Shepherd's Well as "mannered Neo-Georgian" and noted that the "front door case has been removed".

The Wabe is an architecturally eclectic detached house on Redington Road, Hampstead, London, built in 1902–1903 for the academic and mathematician William Garnett. It was subsequently the home of the Canadian explorer Mina Hubbard and her husband, and later of the actor Tom Conti and his wife.
