Winshill is an area to the east of the town of Burton upon Trent, in the borough of East Staffordshire, England. Flanked to the north and east by the South Derbyshire border, historically the parish of Winshill had always been part of Derbyshire until it was transferred to Staffordshire, in part in 1878, and wholly in 1894.Along its southern flank runs the A511, known locally as the Ashby Road, from Bretby Lane and Moat Bank (Burton upon Trent's highest point) to the eastern end of the Trent Bridge and the junction with the A444. Along its western flank are the River Trent and the B5008 Newton Road, which runs to Newton Solney and Repton in South Derbyshire. The parish church in Winshill is St Mark's, part of the Diocese of Derby.

Bladon Castle is a folly, partly converted into a country house, located some 600 yards (550 m) southwest of the village of Newton Solney in South Derbyshire, 1 mile (1.6 km) northeast of Burton-on-Trent and close to the point at which the River Trent forms the boundary with Staffordshire. The castle was originally built as a folly in a Neo-Gothic style by the architect Jeffrey Wyattville for Abraham Hoskins of Burton-on-Trent, grandfather of George Gordon Hoskins. Designed to give the appearance of a large castle with battlements, the structure was in reality little more than a single long wall.It was subsequently partly converted into a house. The building lies within the grounds of Bladon House School, and is now in a semi-ruinous state.

Monks Bridge is a road bridge across the River Dove between Stretton, Staffordshire, and Egginton, Derbyshire. A bridge has existed here since the early 13th century, though much of the current structure dates to the 15th century. It formerly carried traffic on what is now the A38 road but a replacement structure was built to the north in 1926. It was formerly used as a slip road but is now out of use to vehicular traffic.

St Mary's is the Church of England parish church for the village of Stretton, East Staffordshire, north of Burton upon Trent. It is part of the Diocese of Lichfield. St Mary's church was paid for by John Gretton (1836-99) of Bladon House in Winshill, a native of Stretton and a director of the Burton brewers Bass, Ratcliff, and Gretton. The work was supervised by his son, John Gretton MP. The Victorian church replaced an earlier building in the village. The church was designed by the eminent architects, Somers Clarke, Surveyor to St Paul's Cathedral and, (when he retired due to ill health), John Thomas Micklethwaite, Surveyor of the Fabric of Westminster Abbey. (...) on an aisled, cruciform plan with a massive crossing tower. Built externally of Stanton stone and internally of Runcorn stone, it has a short chancel, a four-bayed nave, and north and south aisles, each with a porch at the west end. There is a chapel at the east end of the south aisle and two vestries along the north side of the chancel, one of them used in 1999 as a parish office and the other as a meeting room. The nave arcades and chancel arch are chamfered with moulded capitals on polygonal piers, and the nave and chancel ceilings have painted wooden panels. The church retains most of its original decorations and fittings: wooden rood screen and choir stalls carved in a mixed Arts and Crafts-Perpendicular style by J. E. Knox of Kennington; chancel floor inlaid with black and white marble; stone side-chapel arch carved by Robert Bridgeman of Lichfield; octagonal font of Frosterley Marble with elaborate wooden canopy, also carved by Knox; stained glass by Sir William Richmond in the east window of the chancel and in the south window of the side chapel; and altar fittings by William Morris. Most of the early 20th-century memorial windows in the aisles come from the Whitefriars studio in London. A bell was taken from the 1838 church for use as a call bell, and a further three bells installed in 1897 were recast as six in 1960. A chronogram in the sanctuary gives the year of the consecration of the church - 1897.

The Hilton Brook or Sutton Brook is a tributary of the River Dove in Derbyshire, England, and is 26 kilometres (16 miles) long. Like many watercourses in the area, it has multiple names, often being named locally after the village it flows past.

The Bass Worthington Ground was a cricket ground located along Derby Road in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. The ground was bordered to the east and north by the Pirelli tyre factory.

Stretton is a large village and civil parish in Staffordshire, England. It is situated on the northern outskirts of Burton upon Trent and is effectively a suburb of that town. The name is Old English and means Street Town and comes it being on the Roman road called Ryknild Street. The population of the parish at the 2001 census was 8,355, increasing to 8,611 at the 2011 Census. The River Dove which forms the border between Staffordshire and Derbyshire flows past the eastern side of the village. The Trent and Mersey Canal also passes through. Stretton was served by a railway station (Stretton and Claymills railway station) which was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway on 1 January 1901. There was also a Stretton Junction. The station and the North Staffordshire Railway line have now gone. Today the principal transport link is the A38 road which passes through. It is home to the sports and social clubs of Stretton Eagles and Stretton Wanderers. It also shares a nature trail with the neighbouring village of Rolleston on Dove. Schools include Fountains High School, Fountains Primary School and William Shrewsbury Primary School. The parish church of Stretton is St Mary's, part of the Diocese of Lichfield. The Dovecliff Hall Hotel is a Grade II listed country house to the north of the village.

Dovecliff Hall (alternatively known as Dove Cliff Hall or Dovecliffe Hall) is a large Georgian country house in Stretton, East Staffordshire, England which is now a country house hotel. It is a Grade II listed building.The house is built in two storeys of red brick with a hipped Westmorland slate roof. It has a 5 window frontage.

Burton-on-Trent Cricket Club Ground is a cricket ground in Burton, England used by Derbyshire CCC for 13 first-class matches between 1914 and 1937. Burton Flour Mills is a Grade II listed building now used for residential purposes and a hydro-electric power plant on the River Trent in Winshill, Staffordshire.

Pirelli Stadium is an association football stadium on Princess Way in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, England. It was built in 2005 and is the current home of Burton Albion FC, replacing the club's old Eton Park home, also on Princess Way, which was demolished and developed into housing. The ground was built on the former site of the Pirelli UK Tyres Ltd Sports & Social Club, and having had the land donated to the club by Pirelli, in return for naming rights, the ground cost £7.2 million to build. The ground was designed by architects Hadfield, Cawkwell and Davidson, and has served as the inspiration for numerous newer grounds, including Morecambe's Globe Arena, and the proposed Hayes & Yeading stadium. It gained its most recent safety certificate from Staffordshire County Council on 12 July 2010, having been subject to crowd trouble on 8 May 2010 at the hands of Grimsby Town fans following their relegation from Football League Two.The ground has seen minor capacity changes since its construction, and the current capacity stands at 6,912, with 2,034 being seated in the South (Main) Stand. The current record attendance for the stadium stands at 6,746 for an EFL Championship match against nearby Derby County.
