Portslade railway station (in full, Portslade & West Hove station) is a railway station serving the town of Portslade-by-Sea in East Sussex, England, but located on the western fringes of the village of Aldrington (a part commonly known as 'West Hove'). It is 2 miles 73 chains (4.7 km) down the line from Brighton.

Portslade Town Hall is a municipal building in Victoria Road in Portslade, East Sussex, England. The structure, which was the meeting place of Portslade Urban District Council Council, is a locally-listed building.

St Leonard's Church is an Anglican church in Hove, in the English city of Brighton and Hove. It is on New Church Road in the Aldrington area of Hove, which was previously a separate village, and it serves as Aldrington's parish church. The church was on Church Road but now stands on New Church Road, renamed in reference to the other church (St Philip's) which was started in 1894 as a chapel of ease.

Inaugurated on 19 September 1999, the 10th Swaminarayan temple to be opened in the UK. The temple comes under the ISSO wing of the Swaminarayan SampradayThe Murti Pratishta was done by Acharya Maharajshree Tejendraprasad Pande among chants of vedic hymns. The event was attended by the MP and Mayor of Brighton as well as the Indian High Commissioner in the UK.

Fishersgate railway station is a railway station in West Sussex, England, serving both the eastern part of Southwick, as well as the western part of Portslade in Brighton and Hove. The station is operated by Southern and is 3 miles 47 chains (5.8 km) down the line from Brighton.

Portslade is a western suburb of the city of Brighton and Hove, England. Portslade Village, the original settlement a mile inland to the north, was built up in the 16th century. The arrival of the railway from Brighton in 1840 encouraged rapid development of the coastal area and in 1896 the southern part, formerly known as Copperas Gap, was granted urban district status and renamed Portslade-by-Sea, making it distinct from Portslade Village. After World War II the district of Mile Oak to the north was added. Today, Portslade is bisected from east to west by the old A27 road (now the A270) between Brighton and Worthing, each part having a distinct character.

St Nicolas Church is an Anglican church in the Portslade area of the English city of Brighton and Hove. It has 12th-century origins, and serves the old village of Portslade, inland from the mostly 19th-century Portslade-by-Sea area.It is one of the numerous hall churches in southern England.

Portslade Old Manor is one of a very few examples of Norman manor houses that still exist in England. It has been deemed a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and a Grade II* listed building.In the Domesday Book there are two references to Portslade: "Oswald holds half a hide in Portslade he held it before 1066. It did not pay tax, he could go where he would with the land, One villager, value 6s"."Albert held half a hide in Portslade. It did not pay tax. One villager with half plough. The value is and was 6s."In 1312, the Lord of the Manor of Portslade, John de Warenne, 7th Earl of Surrey, was granted a charter by King Edward II to hold a Fair at Portslade annually on 6 December, the Feast Day of Saint Nicolas. Portslade Manor House was in use until 1807 when the new manor house was built. The old house was then used as an almshouse for the poor. In the Victorian era it was partially demolished, to provide building material for a garden folly in the new manor grounds. In 2019 Fresh Start Portslade were granted a National Lottery Grant to improve access and visibility of Portslade's Norman Manor house, communicate its historic importance, and explore possible solutions for its longer-term sustainability.

Aldrington is an area of the city of Brighton and Hove, previously part of the old borough of Hove. For centuries it was meadow land along the English Channel stretching west from the old village of Hove to the old mouth of the River Adur, and it is now a prosperous residential area integrated within Hove.

Rowan Halt railway station, was a railway station in Hove, in East Sussex, England which opened in 1933 and closed on 1 January 1939; the layout and curvature of Rowan Avenue indicates where the branch ran.

Hangleton Manor Inn, the adjoining Old Manor House and associated buildings form a bar and restaurant complex in Hangleton, an ancient village (and latterly a 20th-century housing estate) which is part of the English city of Brighton and Hove. The manor house is the oldest secular building in the Hove part of the city; some 15th-century features remain, and there has been little change since the High Sheriff of Sussex rebuilt it in the mid-16th century. Local folklore asserts that a 17th-century dovecote in the grounds has been haunted since a monk placed a curse on it. The buildings that comprise the inn were acquired by Hangleton Manor Ltd in 1968, and converted to an inn under the Whitbread banner. The brewery company Hall & Woodhouse have owned and operated it since 2005. English Heritage has listed the complex at Grade II* for its architectural and historical importance, and the dovecote is listed separately at Grade II.

Southwick Football Club was a football club based in Southwick, West Sussex, England. The club was founded in 1882 and was among the founding members of the Sussex County League, which they won six times. Their home ground was Old Barn Way and they were nicknamed 'The Wickers'. The club was formally wound up in March 2020, having lost the lease to its stadium and due to severe financial difficulties. In July 2020 a phoenix club, Southwick 1882 F.C., was formed by staff and supporters of the defunct team to continue the name and history of the club. They are currently members of the Mid-Sussex League Championship and play at Southwick Recreation Ground. A further phoenix club, AFC Southwick was formed in July 2021 by Southwick 1882's first team playing staff and team management, following a disagreement with club directors over subscription payments required from players, and they currently play one level above Southwick 1882, at Whitehawk F.C.'s ground. Both phoenix clubs state they ultimately aim to return to Old Barn Way. Southwick played in red and black striped shirts with black shorts and socks. The club's traditional rivals were near neighbours Shoreham. Southwick also enjoyed a rivalry with nearby Mile Oak.
