The Henry B. Tippie National Aviation Education Center (NAEC) is an aviation museum operated by the American Airpower Heritage Museum (AAHM), an affiliate organization of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), headquartered at Dallas Executive Airport in Dallas, Texas, United States.

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF), formerly known as the Confederate Air Force, is an American non-profit organization based in Dallas, Texas, that preserves and shows historical aircraft at airshows, primarily in the U.S. and Canada. The CAF has about 13,000 members, over 70 units, and over 170 aircraft, including the world's largest collection of airworthy warbirds.

On November 12, 2022, two World War II–era aircraft, a B-17 Flying Fortress and a Bell P-63 Kingcobra, collided mid-air and crashed during the Wings Over Dallas airshow at Dallas Executive Airport in Dallas, Texas, United States. The collision occurred at 1:22 p.m. local time (CST, UTC−6). The airshow, which coincided with Veterans Day commemorations, was organized by the Commemorative Air Force. Just before the crash, the air boss directed the bomber formation to fly parallel to the spectator viewing line, while the fighters were instructed to enter a trail formation and fly in front of the bombers. According to witnesses, the P-63F executed a high-speed descending banked turn onto the runway approach, colliding with the B-17 and causing both planes to break apart and burst into flames. A pilot on the ground speculated that the P-63F pilot may have misidentified a trailing bomber as the leader, leading to a tightened line and an obstructed view of the approaching B-17. The B-17 had a crew of five, while the P-63 had a single occupant. All six died as confirmed by the Dallas County Medical Examiner. Both aircraft were destroyed on impact. On November 30, the NTSB released a preliminary report, highlighting the absence of altitude deconfliction briefings and revealing that the P-63's GPS navigator failed to record any information during the flight, with the ATC audio released on January 12, 2023, confirming no altitude advice was provided.

Dallas Executive Airport (IATA: RBD, ICAO: KRBD, FAA LID: RBD), formerly Redbird Airport, is six miles (10 km) southwest of Downtown Dallas, in Dallas County, Texas, United States. The airport is used for general aviation and is a reliever airport for Dallas Love Field. In 2013, the Commemorative Air Force announced that they would build a "National Airbase" at Executive which would include their headquarters and main museum, both of which would be moved from Midland. As of 2016, the Commemorative Air Force established their headquarters at the airport and currently occupies a hangar on the southeast side of the airfield. The Dallas Police Department operates their helicopter(s) from Dallas Executive Airport.During 2017, extensive work was done to improve the existing runway, and more work is being done in 2018 to extend runway 13/31 to move the safety areas and protections zones onto the airport.

Bishop Dunne Catholic School is a college preparatory middle and high school located in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas (U.S.). In 2004, it was awarded the National Blue Ribbon School Lighthouse Award in regards for its continued academic excellence and dedication to the students of southern Dallas. It is the only Catholic school with grades 6 through 12 to hold an exemplary accreditation rating from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED).

The Redbird community of Dallas is a group of neighborhoods located in the southern Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas. This is a middle to upper middle class Neighborhood which includes Wynnewood Hills, Elderwoods/Elderoaks/Twin Oaks, and Glen Oaks. Redbird is the principal area and is bounded by Ledbetter/Loop 12 to the north, Wheatland to the south, I-35E/R.L. Thornton Freeway to the east, and Cockrell Hill Road to the west. The Golf Club of Dallas (formerly the Oak Cliff Country Club) lies in the heart of the Redbird community along with Boulder Park. The community is flanked by the Dallas Executive Airport (formerly Redbird Airport) and the Southwest Center Mall which is under major renovation as the ReImagine Redbird project, as of 2019.

Justin F. Kimball High School is a public secondary school in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas, United States. It enrolls students in grades 9–12, and is a part of the Dallas Independent School District. The school is named in honor of Justin Ford Kimball, a prominent citizen of Dallas, Texas, former school superintendent, and founder of a predecessor of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.It serves a section of Cockrell Hill.

Kiest Park is a 263-acre (106 ha) park in southern Dallas, Texas, United States, established in 1931 by Edwin John Kiest, publisher of the Dallas Times Herald and a member of the Dallas Park Board in the 1930s who donated the land for the park. Named in memory of Kiest's late wife, artist Elizabeth Patterson Kiest, it is the largest City of Dallas Park in Oak Cliff and features hike-and-bike trails, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, playgrounds, picnic tables and several Works Progress Administration-era structures, including stone gates at three entrances to the park, a stone picnic shelter and a stone field house. The WPA also built a formal garden at the heart of Kiest Park. A pergola was built at the head of the garden in 1934 with WPA funds but fell into ruin and was cleared away. The nonprofit organization Friends of Oak Cliff Parks restored the historic garden and the City of Dallas rebuilt the pergola in 2014 based on the original plans, using $2 million in bond funds. In 2017, the nonprofit Texas Recreation and Park Society named Kiest Park a Lone Star Legacy Park, which marks it as “a park that holds special prominence in the local community and the State of Texas.” The same year, the park became the site of Spanish artist Casto Solano's sculpture honoring Oak Cliff natives Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmie Vaughan. The Vaughan family home was located at 2557 Glenfield Avenue, one-half mile away.

Southwest Center Mall, formerly Red Bird Mall, is a shopping mall located in Dallas, Texas. Originally owned by the DeBartolo family, it opened in 1975. It was, and remains, the only major one located in the southern half of Dallas. Its original name, Red Bird Mall, came from the Red Bird area of Dallas in which it is located. Initially, it was anchored by four department stores: Sears, which anchored on the eastern side of the mall closed its doors officially to the public January 6, 2019 as part of the closure of 33 Sears stores in the US following the parent company liquidation process for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. JCPenney, which anchored the western end until 2001; The City of Dallas had possession of the space under a 6-month option to buy, which expired on June 7, 2010 (building has since been demolished). Sanger-Harris (later Foley's, then Macy's), was in the middle of the mall on the northern side and closed in 2017. Titche's (later Joske's, then purchased by and renamed Dillard's), was being redeveloped as Fiesta Mundo, but redevelopment stopped and that property still vacant, at middle of the mall on the southern sideLater, Montgomery Ward added a store near the Sears location in 1994, on the same side as Dillard's, but was closed in 2001 and replaced by a Burlington Coat Factory. Many of the stores were either opening their first ones in the southern sector of Dallas, or relocated from older shopping centers in the area.

Christ for the Nations Institute (CFNI) is the educational arm of the ministry Christ for the Nations, Inc. Founded by Gordon and Freda Lindsay in July 1970. CFNI is an interdenominational charismatic Bible college located in Dallas, Texas.

The Museum of Earth History is a controversial young Earth creationist museum based on fundamentalist Christian theology. It features replicas of dinosaur skeletons in exhibits and the Book of Genesis biblical scripture. Exhibits explain that extinction of dinosaurs was caused by the Great Flood rather than a comet. Noah carried dinosaurs aboard his ark. A Tyrannosaurus alongside Adam and Eve are described as living in peace with each other therefore Tyrannosaurus was a herbivore rather than a carnivore.Originally located in Eureka Springs, Arkansas on the grounds of The Great Passion Play, but later moved to the campus of Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas.

David Wendel Carter High School (commonly referred to as Dallas Carter) is a public high school located in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas, United States. The school is a part of the Dallas Independent School District and is classified as a 4A school by the UIL. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.
