The Chennai office handles several value-added operations of the bank that were earlier handled only in its Washington, DC office.

The International Tech Park Chennai, Taramani or ITPC (as it is popularly known) is an hi-tech park in Taramani, Chennai. Located in Chennai's IT Corridor, it spans 15 acres, offering approximately 2 million sq ft of office space. Over 40 IT/ITES companies are operating out of the park. State Highway 49A (SH-49A) also known as Rajiv Gandhi Salai and Rajiv Gandhi IT Expressway or just IT Expressway is a major road connecting Chennai, Tamil Nadu with Mahabalipuram in Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu. It is 45 km long and was earlier known as the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). The road starts from Madhya Kailash Temple on Sardar Patel Road in South-East Chennai and terminates on East Coast Road near Mahabalipuram. The prestigious TIDEL Park, home to a number of BPO and IT/ITES companies and many other major IT/ITES Companies in the country are situated along the Rajiv Gandhi Salai. Prominent technical and educational Institutions, national research laboratories are also located along the Corridor. Besides, State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Ltd (SIPCOT) has developed a Cyber City, spread over 2000 acres in Siruseri, abutting the IT Corridor. Many IT/ITES Companies have set up their facilities in the Cyber City.Based on development and growth of OMR road, it was categorized as 2 major zones. Zone-1 is from Madhya Kailash to Sholinganallur and Zone-2 is from Sholinganallur to Kelambakkam.

Perungudi Lake (Tamil: பெருங்குடி ஏரி) is a 50 ares (54,000 sq ft) water body located near Chennai's IT corridor, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, India. It is one of the few protected lakes of Chennai, fully fenced with compound wall and pathways laid on its east and south side for walkers. In the past, the lake was a major source of water for irrigation to its neighborhood agricultural lands. Presently it is still catering to the drinking water needs of few colonies surrounding the lake, and holds the ground water levels. Excess rain later flows into the lake through storm water channels from the nearby residential areas. Perungudi lake is connected with Pallikaranai wetland through marsh lands spreading across Perungudi/Velachery/Pallikaranai. Centre of Excellence in Wireless Technology aka CEWiT is a non-profit autonomous research society of IIT Madras set up to develop indigenous world-class Next Generation wireless technology. The organization is set up with support from Ministry of Communication & IT and the Indian telecom industry.

Perungudi is a neighbourhood of Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south of Adyar. It is bordered on two sides by the Old Mahabalipuram Road and the Perungudi lake. It is situated on the Old Mahabalipuram IT Expressway right in middle of an Information Technology (IT) Estate. It is between Taramani and Thoraipakkam and parallel to Kottivakkam and Palavakkam in the East Coast Road (ECR Highway). The suburb is inhabited by an equal mix of new migrants and descendants of some early clans who migrated to the area approximately 300 years ago. Perungudi is seeing heightened activities in recent years due to its strategic location. The population of Perungudi was approximately 8,000 in 2000 but has grown significantly in the years since then. Being in the IT Corridor of Chennai, Perungudi is increasingly being preferred as a residential locality by software engineers. Despite this significant growth, Perungudi lacks basic civic amenities such as underground storm and waste drainage system, piped potable water and good roads.. This region has gained more importance owing to its location on the IT highway and proximity to city neighbourhoods like Palavakkam, Thiruvanmiyur, Adyar and Velachery.

The Buckingham Canal is a 796 kilometres (494.6 mi)-long fresh water navigation canal, that parallels the Coromandel Coast of South India from Kakinada City in the Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh to Viluppuram District in Tamil Nadu. The canal connects most of the natural backwaters along the coast to Chennai (Madras) port. The canal was constructed during British rule, and was an important waterway during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Competition from rail and later road transport diminished its importance, and during the 20th century portions became unusable and badly polluted. More recently there is increased interest in the canal's potential to protect coastal communities from flooding by tsunamis and cyclones as well as provide a navigable waterway, and projects have been undertaken to restore and improve the canal. In the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party's 2021 election manifesto, the party promised that the canal will be rehabilitated.

TIDEL Park is an information technology (IT) park situated in the city of Chennai, India. The name TIDEL is a portmanteau of TIDCO and ELCOT. An ISO 9001/14001 company, In 2000, it was one of the largest IT parks in Asia. It was set up in 2000 to foster the growth of information technology in the state of Tamil Nadu by the TIDEL Park Ltd, a joint venture of TIDCO and ELCOT.

Ramanujan IT City is an information technology (IT) special economic zone (SEZ) situated in Chennai, India. Named after the Indian Mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan, it is a joint venture of Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited (TRIL), Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). Situated next to the Tidel Park, it is being developed in a land measuring 25 acres with two zones with a total built-up area of 5.7 million sq ft. including 4.5 million sq ft of office space.

The MGR film city is an integrated film studio complex in Taramani, Chennai. It was established in 1994 mainly to attract filmmakers and tourists and originally named after former chief minister of Tamil Nadu MG Ramachandran JJ Film City by the AIADMK government. When DMK returned to power in 1996 it was renamed MGR Film City after the popular actor and late Chief Minister M. G. Ramachandran. It also houses a film institute, known as MGR Film and Television Institute.

The Center for Computational Brain Research (CCBR) is an Interdisciplinarity research centre located at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India. CCBR was set up in 2015 with funding from Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan. The stated objective of the center is "to explore the interface between Neuroscience and Engineering disciplines".
