KRNV-FM

KTHX-FM (94.5 MHz) is a commercial radio station broadcasting a Regional Mexican format. Licensed to Sun Valley, Nevada, it serves the Reno metropolitan area and Lake Tahoe. The station is owned and operated by Lotus Communications. The radio studios are on Plumb Lane in South Reno. KTHX-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts. The transmitter is located off McGuffrey Road on Red Hill in North Reno. Programming is also heard on a 99 watt FM translator, K232EA at 94.3 MHz in Carson City, Nevada.

KRAT (92.1 MHz, "Alt 92.1") is a commercial FM radio station located in Sparks, Nevada, broadcasting to the Reno area airing an alternative rock format. Its studios are located in Reno near the Reno–Tahoe International Airport, with a secondary office in Carson City, and its transmitter is located on Red Hill in North Reno.

KLRH is a non-commercial radio station located in Reno, Nevada, broadcasting on 92.9 FM. KLRH airs a contemporary Christian music format branded as "K-Love" under the ownership of Educational Media Foundation (EMF). The station signed on in November 1994 as KZSR. Until August 2014, the station was KURK, a commercial classic rock station owned by Wilks Broadcasting. On May 9, 2014, Wilks that it was selling the station to EMF, which already owned K-Love station KLRH (88.3 FM); the acquisition allowed EMF to bring its Air1 network to Reno. EMF took control of the station on August 1, 2014 and changed the call letters to KYSA; Wilks moved the classic rock format and the KURK call sign to 100.9 FM. On August 13, 2014, KYSA and KLRH swapped call signs. As of September 2016, KLRH was listed as a K-Love station, with KYSA carrying Air1.

Desert Research Institute (DRI) is the nonprofit research campus of the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), the organization that oversees all publicly supported higher education in the U.S. state of Nevada. At DRI, approximately 460 research faculty and support staff engage in $43 million in sponsored research each year. DRI's environmental research programs are divided into three core divisions (Atmospheric Sciences, Earth and Ecosystem Sciences, and Hydrologic Sciences) and a robust K-12 STEM education program. Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is a public community college and technical college in the Truckee Meadows of Reno, Nevada. The college is primarily a commuter campus with 5 locations. TMCC offers students both certificate and associate degrees. In 2015, TMCC was approved to offer two Bachelor of Applied Science degrees, one in Logistics Operations Management and the other in Emergency Management and Homeland Security. From 1971 to 1979, the college was a branch of Western Nevada Community College. Its current name is based on its primary service area, Truckee Meadows in Reno and Sparks. The college has more than 500 faculty members and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on College and Universities. The college serves more than 13,000 students each semester in state-supported classes. TMCC is regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

Sun Valley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. The population was 19,299 at the 2010 census. It is north of Reno and is part of the Reno–Sparks Metropolitan Statistical Area.

North Valleys High School is located in north Reno, Nevada. NVHS belongs to the Washoe County School District. It was built in 2001 and currently has a student body of roughly 2,250 students. North Valleys competes in the Northern Nevada 3A Region for athletics.

Procter R. Hug High School is a fully accredited public high school in Reno, Nevada, and belongs to the Washoe County School District. Hug High was built on a hillside in east Reno in 1968 to serve students from rapidly growing areas. Like many other local schools, Hug High was named for a member of the local school board. The high school was named for Procter Hug Sr., a college athlete, teacher, athletic coach and Washoe County School Superintendent who went on after retirement to serve as a Nevada State Senator. Hug High School relocated from 2880 Sutro Street to 3530 Sullivan Lane at the beginning of the 22-23 academic year.

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is an academic division of the University of Nevada, Reno and grants the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. The School of Medicine was founded on March 25, 1969, as the first medical school in the state of Nevada. More than 1,500 MDs have graduated from the School of Medicine. The pre-clinical campus is located in Reno, but the third and fourth years can be spent in hospitals and clinics throughout Nevada. Residencies associated with the School of Medicine are located in Reno. Students may earn the MD-MPH, MD-MBA or MD–PhD degrees as well.

Mackay Stadium is an outdoor athletic stadium in the western United States, located on the campus of the University of Nevada in Reno, Nevada. The home venue for Nevada Wolf Pack football and women's soccer in the Mountain West Conference. it is named in honor of the Mackay family, particularly John William Mackay and his son Clarence H. Mackay, who donated funding to build the original stadium in 1909.

Golden Valley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. The population was 1,556 at the 2010 census. It is a northern suburb of the city of Reno and is part of the Reno–Sparks Metropolitan Statistical Area. Prior to 2010, it was listed by the U.S. Census Bureau as part of the Lemmon Valley–Golden Valley CDP.
