Cornell School District operates 2 schools: Cornell Elementary (K-6) and Cornell High School which serves 7-12th grade. In 2010 the high school and junior high school were combined for administration purposes. Cornell School District Educational Center is located on one campus in Coraopolis with separate wings for elementary and secondary instruction. Cornell High School is a public high school located in the borough of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh in Allegheny County in the state of Pennsylvania. Cornell High School serves students from the borough of Coraopolis, as well as Neville Township or Neville Island as it is more commonly called. The school's mascot are the Raiders, and the colors are blue and gold. The high school is part of the Cornell School District.

The Coraopolis Bridge is a girder bridge over the back channel of the Ohio River connecting Grand Avenue on Neville Island to Ferree Street in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. It opened in 1995 to replace a structure of historic significance. The original Pratt/Bowstring/Pennsylvania through truss spans, designed by Theodore Cooper, were formerly the (third) Sixth Street Bridge, spanning the Allegheny River, in downtown Pittsburgh, and were built in 1892 by the Union Bridge Company. They were floated downstream by the Foundation Company in 1927 rather than being demolished when the bridge was removed to enable construction of the present (fourth) Three Sisters (Pittsburgh) Sixth Street Self-anchored suspension bridge. However, by the late 1980s, the old bridge could no longer support traffic volumes and was replaced by a newer structure.

Coraopolis is located west of Pittsburgh along the Ohio River and to the east of the Pittsburgh International Airport. The borough has steep topography, numerous brick streets and many large, old houses. Dick's Sporting Goods is headquartered in Coraopolis, as is the American Bridge Company.

The Robert Morris University Island Sports Center (abbreviated RMU Island Sports Center) is a sports complex located in the Pittsburgh suburb of Neville Island in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The RMU Island Sports Center opened in 1998, and houses several ice and inline skating rinks, a golf range, a miniature golf course, athletic fields, a strength and fitness center, a bistro and a pro shop. In 2003, Robert Morris University bought a Superfund Site's land (called Ohio River Park) from Neville Land Company for 2.7 million. Ohio River Park is still being monitored by the EPA. A boathouse was added in October 2016. The complex is accessible via exit 65 of Interstate 79.

Coraopolis station is a disused train station in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. The train station was built in 1896 by the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad, and designed by architects Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge in Richardsonian Romanesque style.

Coraopolis Armory is an armory located at 835 5th Avenue in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1938, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 14, 1991.It houses the Headquarters Company, 28th Signal Battalion, Pennsylvania National Guard Army Reserve.

In January 2018, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ruled that the 2011 map violated the state constitution and redrew it on February 18, 2018. What was the 17th district, which had been anchored in Northeast Pennsylvania, was modified to become the 9th district, and the old 12th district likewise became the 17th, for the 2018 elections and representation thereafter until the current map was ordered on February 23, 2022. In the 2020 redistricting cycle, its portion of Butler County, including Cranberry Township, was removed from the district, while it gained some eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh, such as Forest Hills and Wilkinsburg.
