Merkur Funicular Railway

The Merkur or Großer Staufenberg is a mountain, 668.3 m above sea level (NHN), in the Northern Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is the Hausberg of Baden-Baden and located between the spa town and the town of Gernsbach.

The Merkur Tower (German: Merkur) is an observation tower on the Merkur near Baden-Baden, at 8°16'50" E and 48°45'52" N. The tower has been in use since 8 April 1950 by the former SWF (now SWR) as a transmission tower for FM-radio and, since 1953, television. At the end of the 1970s the tower was completely renovated and its radio equipment modified. An underground equipment room for radiotechnical equipment was built, and a new tower was constructed, adjoining the older tower. In this tower also an elevator for visitors was installed. Built between autumn 1980 and December 1982, it is twenty three metres high, constructed from steel and concrete, and carrying a forty metre high aerial mast with FM- and TV-aerials on its top.

Ebersteinburg is an Ortsteil of Baden-Baden, Germany. At 426m in elevation it lies between the valleys of the Murg and Oos rivers. The village has a population of 1,300 and since 1972 has been part of the city of Baden-Baden. By 1100CE the Counts of Eberstein had taken up residence and constructed Alt Eberstein on top of the hill. Today only the bergfried and shield wall remain intact. The village itself lies south of the ruins of Alt Eberstein. When the castle fell into decline, the stones were used in the district. Trails lead from the village to Battert and to Hohenbaden Castle as well as Mount Merkur. These trails and walks are used frequently year-round by both locals and visitors.

The Brahms House (Brahms-Haus), also known as Lichtental No. 8, is a biographical museum dedicated to Johannes Brahms in Baden-Baden, Germany. The museum is centered on the building's attic, where Brahms lived and worked on his music while in residence.

The Battert is a hill, 567.9 m above sea level (NHN), on the western edge of the Northern Black Forest north of Baden-Baden in Germany. On its western slopes are the ruins of Hohenbaden Castle (the Altes Schloss or "Old Castle"), on the southern side is the climbing area and nature reserve called the Battert Rocks (Battertfelsen). On the hill ridge are the remains of a circular rampart, probably built by Celtic settlers. On the eastern side lies the village of Ebersteinburg. The Battert is a destination for ramblers and climbers all year round, heading for the 15–60-metre-high Battertfelsen. Above and below the rock face is a footpath around the rocks. The red rock face is visible from far off and may be easily reached on the road to the ruins of Hohenbaden or from a car park near Ebersteinburg.

Lichtenthal Abbey (German: Kloster Lichtenthal) is a Cistercian nunnery in Lichtenthal in the town of Baden-Baden, Germany.

The ruins of Alt-Eberstein are the remains of the former Schloss Eberstein (Eberstein Castle), located on a hill near the town of Ebersteinburg and directly upstream of the modern city of Baden-Baden, in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The original structure was built in 1100 as the primary residence of the Counts of Eberstein, but by the end of the 16th century had been abandoned and much of the castle was torn down to provide materials for other structures. Presently it is a German national monument and a State Palace of Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The Friedrichsbad is a spa in the city of Baden-Baden in Germany. The Neo-renaissance spa building was completed in 1877.

The New Castle (German: Neues Schloss) on the Florentinerberg in Baden-Baden was the seat of the Margraves of Baden from the late 15th century to the end of the 17th century and of the Margraves of Baden-Baden from 1535. As a castle complex from the Late Middle Ages, it has been rebuilt and extended several times. Today, the listed building is owned by Kuwaiti investors who wanted to convert the castle into a luxury hotel.

Baden-Baden (German pronunciation: [ˈbaːdn̩ ˈbaːdn̩] (listen)) is a spa town in the state of Baden-Württemberg, south-western Germany, at the north-western border of the Black Forest mountain range on the small river Oos, ten kilometres (six miles) east of the Rhine, the border with France, and forty kilometres (twenty-five miles) north-east of Strasbourg, France. In 2021, the town became part of the transnational UNESCO World Heritage Site under the name "Great Spa Towns of Europe", because of its famous spas and architecture that exemplifies the popularity of spa towns in Europe in the 18th through 20th centuries.

The Lichtentaler Allee is a historic park and arboretum, set out as a 2.3 kilometer strolling avenue along the west bank of the river Oos in Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was developed from 1850 to 1870 at the instigation of the casino Bénazet, and planted with a wide variety of trees and woody plants. Today the avenue contains about 300 types of native and exotic woody plants, including alders, azaleas, chestnuts, ginkgos, limes, magnolias, maples, oaks, and sycamores. Theater Baden-Baden at Goetheplatz(Götheplatz in German) is the city theater of Baden-Baden in the Black Forest inBaden-Württemberg, Germany. At the instigation of Edouard Bénazet, a former casino director, the theater was modeled on the Paris Opera by Charles Couteau. Especially for the opening in August 1862 Hector Berlioz composed the opera Béatrice et Bénédict after Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. In 1869 Jacques Offenbach conducted the premiere of his operetta La princesse de Trébizonde. Since 1918 the theater has had an ensemble of permanently employed actors. Opera and other works of the musical theater are also performed as part of guest performances and co-productions. At the beginning of the 1990s the theater was completely renovated and equipped with modern technology. The theater is one of the venues of the New Pop Festival. The premises, especially the foyer, can be rented for weddings and other events.
