Preston Hall, Preston-on-Tees

Preston Park (officially Preston Hall Park) is a 100-acre (0.40 km2) public park in Preston-on-Tees, England. It hosts multiple events each year and is located next to the River Tees. The land was originally a private residence with large grounds but has since become the property of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council after being purchased from Sir Robert Ropner. and was redeveloped in 2010–12, with the Museum reopening in 2012. Parking is free, but the Preston Park Museum & Grounds and Butterfly World have small admission charges. The museum has a volunteer community with its participants ranging from students to the retired. They carry out roles in the Museum such as gardening, gallery stewarding, supporting learning and costumed interpreters on the Victorian Street.

The A135 is a road in England, running from Stockton-on-Tees through Eaglescliffe to Yarm on the A67, on the boundary with the River Tees. It is also known as Yarm Road, and was the A19 before the dual carriageway was built. In the 19th century, a stagecoach raced along Yarm Road against Locomotion Number One which ran alongside on the Stockton to Darlington railway line. There is no record as to which won the race.

Quarry Wood is a small wooded area in Preston Park, Preston-on-Tees in County Durham, England. It was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2004 by Stockton Borough Council.The geography of the site is that of a large hole with banked sides leading to a small pond at the bottom and is densely populated with mature trees. The River Tees is to the East of the wood. As the name suggests the site was a Victorian Whinstone quarry from the 1820s to 1850s. The pond is where the main mine shaft was located, and although the depth of the pond is not known it is believed to be no more than 10m deep. The pond is not connected to the River Tees due to the impermeable nature of Whinstone. It is now a popular destination for aspiring younger mountain bikers, with the natural terrain providing ample features to ride. Preston Park itself is currently going through re-development work, and is expected to re-open fully in Summer 2012.

Preston-on-Tees, locally called Preston, is a village and civil parish in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. The civil parish population at the 2011 census was 1,689. It is home to Preston Hall and its accompanying public park. In the 2011, the village was included as a part of Yarm, being on Yarm Road and in a continuous built-up area down to Yarm High Street.

Eaglescliffe is a railway station on the Tees Valley Line, which runs between Bishop Auckland and Saltburn via Darlington. The station, situated 8 miles 63 chains (8.79 mi; 14.1 km) east of Darlington, serves the village of Eaglescliffe, Borough of Stockton-on-Tees in County Durham, England. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains.

The Preston Pipe Bridge carries three water pipes across the River Tees between Ingleby Barwick and Preston-on-Tees in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, northern England. The bridge is situated over 3.1 miles (5 km) upriver from Stockton town centre, and some 660 feet (200 m) upriver from Jubilee Bridge.

Bowesfield Works was a railway locomotive manufacturing plant in Stockton-on-Tees. The works was operated by a joint venture company called Metropolitan Vickers-Beyer Peacock from 1949 until 1960.

Bassleton Wood and The Holmes is a Local Nature Reserve in the town of Thornaby-on-Tees, in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, England.Bassleton Wood is an ancient woodland. The Holmes follows the course of the River Tees and provides a haven for wildlife such as roe deer have been seen within the nature reserve. Within The Holmes there is a wildlife pond that features some of the most rare species in northern England.

The Jubilee Bridge is a road and pedestrian/cycle bridge carrying the Queen Elizabeth Way north-south across the River Tees in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, northern England. It links Preston-on-Tees with Ingleby Barwick. The bridge is over 3.1 miles (5 km) upriver from, and over 1.9 miles (3 km) approximately south of Stockton town centre.

Bowesfield is an area of Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. The area is located in the Ropner ward to the south of the town centre. The area is a mix of industrial, residential, and open space. The name Bowesfield, through Bowesfield Lane, can be found from Oxbridge Lane (just south of the town centre) through eastern Parkfield and down to Tees Jubilee Bridge. The former Bowesfield Farm originally overlooked old Thornaby on the opposite bank of the River Tees.Southern Bowesfield was once dominated by industrial areas such as the Bowesfield Works which has since been redeveloped into a housing estate.

Stockton South is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since December 2019 by Matt Vickers, a Conservative MP.Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat will be subject to moderate boundary changes and will be renamed Stockton West, to be first contested at the next general election.
