Newtown is a town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is part of the greater Danbury metropolitan area as well as the New York metropolitan area. Newtown was founded in 1705, and later incorporated in 1711. As of the 2020 census, its population was 27,173.

Monroe is a town located in eastern Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 18,825 at the 2020 census. The town is part of the Greater Bridgeport Planning Region. Monroe is largely considered a bedroom community of New York City, New Haven, and Bridgeport.

Stepney Cemetery is an old cemetery in Monroe, Connecticut, United States, located in the village of Stepney. It was established next to the Stepney Green in 1794. Many of the area's earliest settlers are buried in the cemetery; the oldest headstone belongs to Nathaniel W. Knapp (died 1787). The cemetery is also known as Birdsey's Plain Cemetery or Beardsley Plain Cemetery. Next to the cemetery is Our Lady of The Rosary Chapel. Ed and Lorraine Warren are buried in this cemetery.

Newtown High School is an accredited public high school in Newtown, Connecticut, United States. As of the 2018–2019 school year, the school serves 1,571 students in grades 9–12 and employs 141 faculty members. It is the only high school of the Newtown Public Schools. Newtown High has been accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges since 1948 and was awarded the Blue Ribbon Award for Schools of Excellence in 2000.In 2021, U.S. News & World Report ranked Newtown High School 21st out of all public high schools in Connecticut. Newtown was also ranked 1,219th in the country, out of almost 24,000 public high schools nationwide.

The Nathan B. Lattin Farm is a historic farm at 22 Walker Hill Road in Newtown, Connecticut. Founded by early colonial settlers to the area in the 18th century, it remains a good example of a rural farm property in an increasingly suburbanized area. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Fairfield State Hospital (as it was known from 1929 to 1963) or Fairfield Hills Hospital (as it was known after 1963) was a psychiatric hospital in Newtown, Connecticut, which operated from 1931 until 1995. At its peak, the hospital housed over 4,000 patients. The entire facility was owned and operated by the State of Connecticut Department of Mental Health. The facility still stands, just southeast of the center of Newtown.

WMNR (88.1 FM, "Fine Arts Radio") is a radio station licensed to Monroe, Connecticut. The station is municipally owned by the Town of Monroe and broadcasts mainly classical music.

The Monroe Center Historic District is a 120-acre (49 ha) historic district in Monroe, Connecticut with significance dating to 1762. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.It includes about 60 significant buildings, including Federal style St. Peters Church at the south end of the Monroe Center green. On June 30, 1781, a dance was held on the green for about 600 French Army troops serving under General Rochambeau; they were camped nearby during their march towards Yorktown, Virginia which led to American independence.

St. Rose of Lima Church is a Roman Catholic parish church at 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown, Connecticut, United States. It is under the authority of the Diocese of Bridgeport, and was founded under the patronage of St. Rose of Lima, the first person born in the Americas to be canonized by the Catholic Church.

Camps Nos. 10 and 41 of Rochambeau's Army, also known as Site No. 97-87D, is an historical archeological site that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. It encompasses the areas occupied by the French Army of Rochambeau during their marches across Connecticut in 1781 and 1783. One of the major encampment site is located on the grounds of the Hawley School, where a historic marker is placed.
