Waynesville High School (Ohio)

Waynesville is a village in Wayne Township, Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,669 at the 2020 census. It is named for General "Mad" Anthony Wayne. The village, located at the crossroads of U.S. Route 42 and State Route 73, is known for its antique stores and its annual sauerkraut festival. Caesar Creek State Park is located 5 miles (8.0 km) east of the village. Waynesville is served by the Mary L. Cook Public Library. In 2005, the library loaned more than 203,000 items to its 8,000 cardholders. Total holdings in 2005 were over 67,000 volumes with over 110 periodical subscriptions. In addition the community is served by WYNS, a low-powered community radio station which also streams on the internet.

The Waynesville Engine House and Lockup, at 260 Chapman St. in Waynesville, Ohio, was built in 1881. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. It has also been known as the Waynesville Lockup.It was built in 1881 as Waynesville's first fire station. A fire truck was purchased in 1886, and in the same year an extension to the rear was added to serve as a jail.It is not covered in the Ohio Historic Places Dictionary.

The Waynesville Main Street Historic District in Waynesville, Ohio is a 36-acre (15 ha) historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. It runs for about five blocks along Main Street from just below South Street in the south to Franklin Road in the north.In 2002, it included 98 buildings deemed to contribute to the historic character of the area and 35 non-contributing resources.Selected buildings are: Mahlon Bateman House, 38 S. Main St. (1847), is the most important Greek Revival building: 7  Thomas Swift House, 243 High Street (c.1820), a five-bay brick I-house with Federal style: 7  Waynesville Academy, 185 N. The Waynesville Greek Revival Houses, at 5303 and 5323 Wilkerson Lane in Waynesville, Ohio, were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.The listing consists of two Greek Revival houses: the Jacob McKay House (also known as "Doric Hill") and the McClelland-Cook House. The McKay house was built in 1848.
