The Waynesville Main Street Historic District in Waynesville, Ohio is a 36-acre (15 ha) historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. It runs for about five blocks along Main Street from just below South Street in the south to Franklin Road in the north.In 2002, it included 98 buildings deemed to contribute to the historic character of the area and 35 non-contributing resources.Selected buildings are: Mahlon Bateman House, 38 S. Main St. (1847), is the most important Greek Revival building: 7  Thomas Swift House, 243 High Street (c.1820), a five-bay brick I-house with Federal style: 7  Waynesville Academy, 185 N. Main St. (1844): 8 

The Waynesville Engine House and Lockup, at 260 Chapman St. in Waynesville, Ohio, was built in 1881. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. It has also been known as the Waynesville Lockup.It was built in 1881 as Waynesville's first fire station. A fire truck was purchased in 1886, and in the same year an extension to the rear was added to serve as a jail.It is not covered in the Ohio Historic Places Dictionary.

Waynesville is a village in Wayne Township, Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,669 at the 2020 census. It is named for General "Mad" Anthony Wayne. The village, located at the crossroads of U.S. Route 42 and State Route 73, is known for its antique stores and its annual sauerkraut festival. Caesar Creek State Park is located 5 miles (8.0 km) east of the village. Waynesville is served by the Mary L. Cook Public Library. In 2005, the library loaned more than 203,000 items to its 8,000 cardholders. Total holdings in 2005 were over 67,000 volumes with over 110 periodical subscriptions. In addition the community is served by WYNS, a low-powered community radio station which also streams on the internet.

The Waynesville Greek Revival Houses, at 5303 and 5323 Wilkerson Lane in Waynesville, Ohio, were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.The listing consists of two Greek Revival houses: the Jacob McKay House (also known as "Doric Hill") and the McClelland-Cook House. The McKay house was built in 1848.

The Bone Mound II is a Native American mound in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. Located northwest of the unincorporated community of Oregonia, the mound sits in an area of light woodland.At a height of 4 feet (1.2 m) and a diameter of 50 feet (15 m), it is believed to have been built by people of the Fort Ancient culture. Although it has never been excavated, multiple confirmed Fort Ancient sites, including mounds and two cemeteries, are located within 1 mile (1.6 km) of the Bone Mound II. The closest of these sites, a rare cemetery composed of limestone burial vaults, is only about 500 feet (150 m) away.The Fort Ancient people are known to have used burial vaults, pits, and two types of mounds for the burial of their dead. However, most areas with such a high concentration of Fort Ancient sites employ only a single method of burial. Because the area around the Bone Mound II shows evidence of multiple methods of burial, it may have been occupied by multiple foci of the Fort Ancient people; consequently, the region is very valuable archaeologically.On July 15, 1974, the Bone Mound II was listed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its potential to be an archaeological site. The Bone Stone Graves, the cemetery with limestone vaults, was listed on the Register on the same day.

The Bone Stone Graves are a prehistoric cemetery in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. Located northwest of the unincorporated community of Oregonia in northwestern Washington Township, Warren County, the cemetery is composed of an uncertain number of graves of individuals from the Fort Ancient culture of Native Americans.: 1373 Graves at the site are composed of bodies contained within limestone stone box graves. A cemetery of this type from the Fort Ancient period is very uncommon, making the Stone Graves a valuable archaeological site.: 1373  Increasing the significance of the area is a complex of other nearby Fort Ancient sites, including the Bone Mound II that is only 500 feet (150 m) away. Because most Fort Ancient sites include only a single type of burials, rather than both a mound and a cemetery, it is believed that the vicinity of the Stone Graves may have been inhabited by people of two different foci.: 1372  In the future, more information may be gained from the cemetery, for the site has never been subject to an archaeological excavation.: 1373 On July 15, 1974, the Bone Stone Graves were listed on the National Register of Historic Places because of their archaeological value. The Bone Mound II was listed on the Register on the same day.
