It is located in the northwestern part of the state, near Toledo. Its ZIP code is 43468. Its population was 439 people, according to the 2020 Census. Local teenagers attend Genoa Area High School.

Clay Center is a village in Ottawa County, Ohio, United States. The population was 262 at the 2020 census.

Clay High School is a public high school in Oregon, Ohio, United States, east of Toledo. It is the only high school in the Oregon City School District. The school is named for Jeremiah Clay, who donated his farmland for the school to be built on.Over the last few years the Clay High School Campus has undergone remodeling. An addition was made to the main building, while the old elementary and the Annex were demolished. The Main building also was gutted and redone. The school colors are green and yellow. Their nickname is the Eagles, after their mascots Eddy and Edna the Eagle. Clay was a member of the Great Lakes League until 2003 when they joined the Toledo City League. Clay's joining of the TCL made them the second non-Toledo team to join the league (Cardinal Stritch 1971-1994) though they have played the Toledo City League schools for years prior to joining. In 2011, Clay joined the newly formed Three Rivers Athletic Conference as a charter member.

Genoa Area High School is a public high school in Genoa, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Genoa Area Local School District. Other towns in the district are Curtice, Clay Center, Martin, and Williston. The nickname for the athletic teams is the Comets. Genoa became a charter member of the Northern Buckeye Conference in 2011. It was a charter member of the Suburban Lakes League in 1972, the Northern Lakes League in 1956 and the Sandusky Bay Conference in 1948. There is one K-5 elementary school in the Genoa Area School District, Genoa Area Local Elementary School. This school was opened in the 2011–2012 school year replacing former elementary schools Brunner Elementary and Allen Central Elementary. Allen was closed and razed following the 2010–2011 school year while Brunner was closed and sold off. There is one middle school, named after former football coach, principal, and board president, John C. Roberts . All three schools, Genoa Area Local Elementary School, John C. Roberts Middle School (opened in the 2002 school year), and Genoa Area High School (opened in 1963) which had an auditorium built that opened in 1969, are conveniently located within close proximity of each other on one educational campus.

Maumee Bay State Park is a 1,336-acre (541 ha) public recreation area located on the shores of Lake Erie, five miles east of Toledo, in Jerusalem Township, Lucas County, Ohio, United States. Major features of the state park include a lodge and conference center, cottages, camping facilities, golf course, nature center, and two-mile-long interpretive boardwalk. Common activities include hiking, picnicking, fishing, hunting, boating, swimming, winter sports, and geocaching. The site was acquired by the state in 1974 and became a state park in 1975.

Maumee Bay on Lake Erie is located in the U.S. state of Ohio, just east of the city of Toledo. The bay and the surrounding wetlands form most of the Maumee River basin, and in 1975 part of the area was incorporated into Maumee Bay State Park. The park is not huge, covering 1,450 acres (5.9 km2), but its wetlands feature some of the best bird watching in the United States. The Maumee Bay area is a popular vacation spot in the Midwest, featuring several resorts and a golf course.

Pearson Metropark is a regional park in Oregon, Ohio, owned and managed by Metroparks Toledo. It is one of the few remnants left of the Great Black Swamp. The park contains old-growth forest and wetlands. The park contains a pond with paddle boat rentals in the summer months and sledding in the winter months. Pearson Metropark hosts an annual waterfowl festival.

Forest Park is an unincorporated community in northwestern Clay Township, Ottawa County, Ohio, United States. It lies at the intersection of Hellwig and Reiman Roads with State Route 51, Gray and Kennard Roads, less than 2 miles (about 3 km) northwest of Genoa and a similar distance southwest of Clay Center. The headwaters of the South Fork of Turtle Creek, which empties into Lake Erie to the east, are located south of Forest Park, and both parts of the South Fork flow past the community.

Lake Local School District is a public school district in Northwest Ohio. The school district primarily serves students who live in Lake Township and the villages of Millbury and Walbridge in Wood County. It also includes small portions of Perrysburg, Troy, and Allen townships and a small portion of the city of Northwood. The superintendent is Jim Witt. Lake Local was created in 1953 with the merger of the Lake Township and Walbridge school districts.
