Rosehill Elmwood Cemetery is located at 1300 Old Hartford Road in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky. There are about 55,000 interments at the cemetery, which is officially recognized as a historical landmark by the state of Kentucky. Notable people buried in the cemetery include a number of US Congressmen, as well as Rainey Bethea, the last person to be publicly executed in the United States.

Owensboro High School is a public high school located at 1800 Frederica Street in Owensboro, Kentucky, United States. The school's digital newspaper is The Digital Devil. Owensboro High School is one of only 33 high schools in Kentucky to be listed among the "Best High Schools 2009 Search" published in U.S. News & World Report in December 2009. This was the second consecutive year that OHS has received this distinction.

The Union Station in Owensboro, Kentucky, is a historic railroad station, built in 1905. Built mostly for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, the station is made of limestone and slate, and currently is home to several businesses.

The Yewell House, at 630 Clay St. in Owensboro, Kentucky, was built in 1894. It is Queen Anne in style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.It was deemed significant in 1986 "as an outstanding example of the Queen Anne style of architecture. It was built in 1894 by wealthy tobacco farmer Franklin Yewell who moved to Daviess County from Nelson County. Yewell constructed this house when he was 70 years old and lived in it only a few more years after its completion. His widow lived there until 1928 and at her death it went to their son Dr. A. S. Yewell, a prominent physician, who lived there another thirty years. It remained in the Yewell family for a total of 72 years and is now owned by an architect who uses it for a multi-family residence."It is a two-story, brick house with "the unusual feature of front, side and rear gables. A rusticated stone effect is used for the front wall and the foundation of the front porch. The projecting front gable has a one-story bay window with rectangular windows. A bracketed cornice runs along the roofline of the bay and a section of the original metal cresting rises above this. Balancing the bay window is a one-story wood porch with simple columns and spindles. This porch provides access to the main entrance to the residence. This porch is also topped by metal cresting. An interesting wall texture is created by brick corbelling that runs across the front, side and rear of the house creating a double-arched window on the second floor. Brick patterning outlines the peaks of each of the gables. There are also small-arched windows in the peak of each gable. The hipped roof is covered by a standing seam metal roof."

Grace Reformed Baptist Church is a Reformed Baptist church in Owensboro, Kentucky. The church has been worshipping together since 2015. It is affiliated with the Mid-America Reformed Baptist Association of Churches. Among the pastors of the congregation is Samuel E. Waldron who serves as the president of the Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary that meets on the church's grounds.

Brescia University is a private Roman Catholic college in Owensboro, Kentucky. It was founded as a junior college for women and is now a coeducational institution offering undergraduate and master's programs.

The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden (WKBG) is a botanical garden in Owensboro, Kentucky. The garden contains several themed gardens, including a large collection of daylilies with an American Hemerocallis Society-recognized display garden. Other gardens include a large herb garden, a rose garden, an English cottage garden, a Kentucky symbol quilt garden, a Japanese memorial garden, an ericaceous garden, the Moonlite Children's garden, the University of Kentucky Extension display garden, and a Western Kentucky University experimental garden. The garden also includes several ponds and many works of public art, including insect and wind sculptures. Buildings in the garden include a house donated and moved to the garden and used for administration offices and gatherings, a large gazebo, an educational classroom building with attached conservatory, an English Cottage, a Country Doctors office built in 1890, a Children's Playhouse, and an antique ticket booth built in 1890. WKBG is part of the American Horticultural Society's Reciprocal Admissions Program.

The St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owensboro, Kentucky, United States was a historic church at 4th and Clay Streets which was built in 1878 and demolished in 1989. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It was deemed "significant as the best example of the Gothic Revival style of architecture in Owensboro and as the focal institution in the history of the German Roman Catholic community of Owensboro and Daviess County."In 1948, the parish of St. Joseph was combined with the nearby Irish-American parish of St. Paul to form Sts. Joseph and Paul parish by Bishop Francis Cotton. St. Paul church was larger and newer so it was used as the main church. Regular services at St. Joseph ended in 1978. The church was only used for mass on special occasions until 1984 when a fire damaged the St. Paul church. St. Joseph was then used for regular mass until St. Paul's rededication in 1986.The sixteen stained-glass windows of the church were gifted by the Diocese of Owensboro to the Owensboro Museum of Fine Arts in 1989 before the church was razed. The windows were created and painted by Emil Frei in the guild tradition and installed in the church between 1900 and 1910. The twelve largest windows are sixteen feet tall by four feet wide. The Frei family helped to restore the windows after the move.It was a front-gable brick structure with a bell tower and eight-sided spire. It was 43 by 86 feet (13 m × 26 m) in plan.Photographs of the church can be found here: six photos from 1977.

The Diocese of Owensboro (Latin: Dioecesis Owensburgensis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory, or diocese, of the Catholic Church in western Kentucky in the United States. As of 2020, the diocese contained of 78 parises and two Newman Centers in 32 counties. The Diocese of Owensboro is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Louisville. The current bishop, William Medley, was the pastor of Saint Bernadette Parish of the Archdiocese of Louisville prior to his consecration which took place February 10, 2010.

Yellow Banks, Kentucky, was the name of the rustic community founded by pioneer William Smeathers or Smothers around 1790 on the banks of the Ohio River. The name was derived from the yellowish banks along the river. In 1817, Yellow Banks became the established town of Owensborough, in honor of Col. Abraham Owen (also the namesake of Owen County in Kentucky).

Owensboro is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Daviess County, Kentucky, United States. It is the fourth-most populous city in the state. Owensboro is located on U.S. Route 60 and Interstate 165 about 107 miles (172 km) southwest of Louisville, and is the principal city of the Owensboro metropolitan area. The 2020 census had its population at 60,183. The metropolitan population was estimated at 116,506. The metropolitan area is the sixth largest in the state as of 2018, and the seventh largest population center in the state when including micropolitan areas.

Temple Adath Israel (transliterated from Hebrew as "Congregation of Israel": 138 ) is a Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue, located at 429 Daviess Street, in Owensboro, Kentucky, in the United States. The congregation was formed in 1858.: 152 Built in 1877,: 138  the Moorish Revival façade of the modest building features a Gothic Revival-arched door flanked by a pair of Gothic-arched windows punctuated by four pilasters. These are surmounted with molded capitals and fanciful embellishments and the whole is topped by a whimsical row of four, small, onion domed turrets.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in March 1986. It is among the oldest synagogue buildings in the United States.
