Axel Oxenstierna palace is a Mannerist architecture style building situated in the Old Town of Stockholm, Sweden.

Ankargränd (Swedish: "Anchor Alley") is an alley in Gamla stan, the old town of Stockholm, Sweden, connecting the streets Trångsund and Prästgatan, just west of church Storkyrkan. Ankargränd is a parallel street to Storkyrkobrinken, Spektens gränd, Solgränd, and Kåkbrinken. Derived from a Marcus Andersson Ankar (-1704) and his simple eating house (or fast food restaurant as it is called today) Ankaret ("The Anchor") on Number 5 in front of the church. While the restaurant was in operation in the late 17th century, the present name of the alley is first mentioned in 1731, before which it seems to have been a nameless backstreet. The present building on Number 5 was built to the plans of Erik Palmstedt in 1772 and retains its original appearance with its rounded Rococo corner facing Prästgatan and small barred windows.The Cornelis Vreeswijk Museum is located on Ankargränd.

Saint George and the Dragon (Swedish: Sankt Göran och draken) is a late medieval wooden sculpture depicting the legend of Saint George and the Dragon, located in Storkyrkan in Stockholm, Sweden. It is attributed to Bernt Notke and was commissioned by the Swedish regent Sten Sture the Elder. It was inaugurated in 1489. It has been described as an artistic high point in the artistic production of Bernt Notke.

The Diocese of Stockholm (Swedish: Stockholms stift) is a division of the Church of Sweden. Its cathedral is Storkyrkan in Stockholm's Old Town. The diocese covers most of metropolitan Stockholm and was formed in 1942 from parts of the medieval dioceses of Strängnäs and Uppsala, both pre-dating the foundation of Stockholm. Before 1942, the City of Stockholm itself and Greater Stockholm were divided more or less equally between the two medieval dioceses at Slussen just south of Stockholm's Old Town.

Spektens Gränd (Swedish: Alley of Spekten) is an alley in Gamla stan, the old town of Stockholm, Sweden. Located just west of Storkyrkan church, it connects the streets Trångsund and Prästgatan. It runs parallel to Storkyrkobrinken, Ankargränd, Solgränd and Kåkbrinken streets. The alley was created when the block between Ankargränd and Kåkbrinken was split in two in 1675. One of the houses built at the time was sold to the merchant Gert Specht in 1685, from whom the alley got its unintelligible name. A Gert Specht is mentioned in the records as being a resident of Norrmalm in 1594. He was probably the father or grandfather of the former.In the alley are two small courtyards. One featuring cast iron decorations, including a lion head, a fence decorated with the star of David, and a small gate flanked by two lampposts. The other has a portal with the inscription ISSH MDP 1667.

Prästgatan (Swedish: "The Priest's Street") is a street in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden, stretching from a cul-de-sac west of the Royal Palace to the street Österlånggatan in the southern corner of the old town. Prästgatan forms a parallel street to Västerlånggatan, Trångsund, Skomakargatan, and Svartmangatan. It is intercepted by Storkyrkobrinken, Ankargränd, Spektens Gränd, Solgränd, Kåkbrinken, Tyska Brinken, Tyska Stallplan, Mårten Trotzigs Gränd, and Norra Benickebrinken.

Klockgjutargränd (Swedish: "Bell-Founder's Alley") is a small alley in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden. Passing under a low vault, it connects the street Västerlånggatan to the public square and courtyard Brantingtorget, forming a parallel street to Salviigränd and Kolmätargränd. Recorded as Klåchgiuatre gränden in 1687, the alley is named after a German bell-founder named Jurgen Putens, who may have immigrated from Lübeck in 1620. In Swedish sources he is referred to as Jöran Putenson, and is recorded as having bought a house in an alley called Olof Köttmånglares gränd ("Alley of Meat Hawker Olof"). Known as a talented craftsman, he founded the bells of Stockholm Cathedral and introduced the fire-extinguisher in 1621, badly needed during the great fire of 1625. He was among the first craftsmen to have relocated his foundry to Kungsholmen in 1647. The alley is mentioned as Hiortens gränd in 1720.

Kolmätargränd is a small alley in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden. Passing under a low vault it connects the street Västerlånggatan to the square and courtyard Brantingtorget forming a parallel street to Klockgjutargränd and Stenbastugränd. Mentioned as Kholmetare Grenden in 1646 and Kåålmäterenss grändh in 1652, the alley is named after the assessor and magistrate Hans Kohlmeter (1626–1686), who according to a source dated 1661 had his house built over the alley. While this name seems to have been established around 1700, the commonly used name for the alley during the 17th century was Johan Sekreterares Gränd (Johannis secretereres grend, "Alley of Secretary John"), and a century earlier Herman Ruggens gränd (1584).

Trångsund (Swedish for 'Narrow Strait'; Swedish pronunciation: [trɔŋˈsɵnːd];) is a short, narrow street in Gamla stan, the old town of Stockholm, Sweden. Stretching from Stortorget in front of Storkyrkan to Storkyrkobrinken, it is intercepted by Ankargränd and Spektens Gränd and forms a parallel street to Prästgatan and Källargränd. In the 15th century the name Trångsund was used for a narrow street in the southern end of Gamla stan, possibly Mårten Trotzigs Gränd, but by the end of the 16th century it was used for the formerly nameless alley. As the church used to be surrounded by a graveyard, Trångsund used to be much narrower before both the graveyard and the wall around it were demolished in 1816. Mynttorget (Swedish: [ˈmʏ̂ntˌtɔrjɛt], "the Coin Square") is a public square in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden.

Stenbastugränd is a small alley in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden. Connecting Västerlånggatan to the square Brantingtorget, it forms a parallel street to Kolmätargränd and Storkyrkobrinken. The present name of the alley first appears in historical records in 1440 as stenbadzstufwo grændinne, thus referring to the city's stone sauna located in the alley. As early as 1515, however, the alley was called Wruaders gränd in references to Nils Månsson Urväder who bought a brewery there in 1485. The latter name was used until 1925, when the alley was given back its old name in order to avoid confusion with the street on Södermalm also called Urvädergränd. The alley used to stretch through the present block all the way to Myntgatan on the opposite side. As a consequence of the enlargement of Kanslihuset ("The Chancellery House") during World War II, which resulted in Kanslihusannexet ("The Chancellery Annex") and its circular courtyard (Brantingtorget), the alley was transformed into the short tunnel it is today.

The Swedish Academy (Swedish: Svenska Akademien), founded in 1786 by King Gustav III, is one of the Royal Academies of Sweden. Its 18 members, who are elected for life, comprise the highest Swedish language authority. Outside Scandinavia, it is best known as the body that chooses the laureates for the annual Nobel Prize in Literature, awarded in memory of the donor Alfred Nobel.
