Golden Gardens Park

Sunset Hill is an area located in the northwest corner of the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. It is home to the Sunset Hill Community Association. Founded in 1922, it was one of the first Seattle neighborhood associations. It is also home to the Sunset Hill Viewpoint Park, located at 7531 34th Ave NW. This park provides a scenic overlook onto the Shilshole and Elliott bays and provides a popular vantage point for photographs of the Olympic Range.

Designated a Seattle, Washington Landmark, the Norvell House was built in 1908 and is a late example of the Swiss chalet style of Architecture. Located in the community of Ballard, in the vicinity of Sunset Hill, it sits on its original-sized lot with impressive heritage trees and retains its flanking carriage house.

A statue of Leif Erikson is installed at Seattle's Shilshole Bay Marina, in the U.S. state of Washington. The 16-foot tall sculpture was donated by the Leif Erikson League for the Century 21 Exposition. It was relocated to Shilshole Marina in 2007. According to Lonely Planet, the statue is surrounded by a stone circle and serves as "an important reminder of Seattle's (and Ballard's) Nordic heritage".

Loyal Heights is a neighborhood in Seattle, Washington. It is considered part of greater Ballard. The neighborhood is bounded to the west by 28th Avenue NW, beyond which is Sunset Hill; to the north by NW 86th Street, beyond which are North Beach and Blue Ridge; to the east by 15th Avenue NW, beyond which is Whittier Heights; and to the south by NW 65th Street, beyond which is central Ballard. Loyal Heights was established by businessman Harry Whitney Treat in 1906 as part of the independent city of Ballard. Named for his daughter Loyal Graef Treat, the area would be plotted for development as a streetcar suburb after the construction of a new electric streetcar line operated by the Loyal Railway Company.In 1907, the city of Ballard—including Loyal Heights—was annexed into the city of Seattle.The city built an elementary school in the neighborhood in 1932, and opened a playfield in 1941.

Shilshole Bay is the part of Puget Sound east of a line drawn northeasterly from Seattle's West Point in the southwest to its Golden Gardens Park in the northeast. On its shores lie Discovery Park, the Lawton Wood section of the Magnolia neighborhood, the neighborhood of Ballard, and Golden Gardens Park. It is home to the Shilshole Bay Marina on Ballard's Seaview Avenue N.W. and communicates with the Lake Washington Ship Canal via the Ballard Locks. The name derives from the Duwamish word meaning "threading a needle", perhaps referring to the narrow opening through which Salmon Bay empties into Shilshole Bay.

Formerly an independent city, the City of Seattle's official boundaries define it as bounded to the north by Crown Hill (N.W. 85th Street), to the east by Greenwood, Phinney Ridge and Fremont (along 3rd Avenue N.W.), to the south by the Lake Washington Ship Canal, and to the west by Puget Sound's Shilshole Bay. The Ballard Bridge carries 15th Avenue over Salmon Bay to the Interbay neighborhood, and the Salmon Bay Bridge carries the BNSF Railway tracks across the bay, west of the Ballard Locks.Ballard is located entirely within Seattle City Council District 6, which also includes the neighborhoods of Crown Hill, Green Lake and Phinney Ridge, as well as most of Fremont, North Beach/Blue Ridge, and Wallingford. Ballard is part of the Seattle Public Schools and the Washington State Legislature's 36th legislative district. At the federal level, Ballard is part of the United States House of Representatives's 7th congressional district.

West Woodland is a neighborhood in Seattle, Washington. The city's Department of Neighborhoods places West Woodland in the south east corner of Ballard.
