Turkey Creek Community Historic District is a settlement established by emancipated African Americans during the Reconstruction Era after the American Civil War. The community is situated in north Gulfport, Mississippi, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Gulfport is the 2nd most populous city in the U.S. state of Mississippi after the state capital, Jackson. Along with Biloxi, Gulfport is the co-county seat of Harrison County and the larger of the two principal cities of the Gulfport–Biloxi metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the city of Gulfport had a total population of 72,926, with 416,259 residents in its metro area. The city lies along the Gulf Coast in southern Mississippi, taking its name from its port on the Mississippi Sound. It is also home to the U.S. Navy Atlantic Fleet Seabees.

Gulfport–Biloxi International Airport (IATA: GPT, ICAO: KGPT, FAA LID: GPT) is a joint civil–military public-use airport three nautical miles (6 km) northeast of the central business district of Gulfport, a city in Harrison County, Mississippi, United States. It is owned by the Gulfport–Biloxi Regional Airport Authority and serves the Gulf Coast area. This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a primary commercial service airport (more than 10,000 enplanements per year). As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 487,907 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008; 411,978 enplanements in 2009; and 325,437 emplacements in 2014. Despite its title, all regularly scheduled commercial passenger flights at the airport are domestic flights only.

Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center is a United States Air Force training center, located at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, Mississippi. It is located 5 miles (8.0 km) north-northeast of Gulfport, Mississippi.

Gulfport Army Air Field Hangar, also known as FBO Hangar and Gulfport Municipal Airport Terminal, was constructed in 1944-45 for use in training combat crews to operate the B-29 Superfortress. Located in Gulfport, Mississippi, the hangar was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011, and was designated a Mississippi Landmark in 2012.

WQFX (1130 AM) is a radio station in Gulfport, Mississippi, United States, broadcasting a gospel music format. It is owned by Walking by Faith Ministries, Inc., and operates from studios in nearby Biloxi and a transmitter in Gulfport. 1130 kHz is a clear-channel frequency shared by three North American stations (CKWX, KWKH, and WBBR), requiring WQFX to operate on a daytime-only basis on the AM band. The station also broadcasts on an FM translator, W254DJ (98.7 FM), which allows it to broadcast around-the-clock, including when the AM facility cannot be active. Established as a commercial station in 1975, by 1986, it became a simulcast of its sister FM station, WQFX-FM 96.7. In 1992, the simulcast was broken and the station leased—and later bought—by its present owner to broadcast the current gospel format.

WROA (1390 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Gulfport, Mississippi. It is owned by the Lisa Stiglets and Elizabeth McQueen, through licensee JLE, Incorporated, and broadcasts a classic country radio format. Its radio studios and offices are on Lorraine Road in Gulfport. WROA uses its FM dial position in its moniker, "Merle 100.1." Merle refers to the late country artist Merle Haggard. By day, WROA is powered at 900 watts non-directional. To protect other stations on 1390 AM from interference at night, it reduces power to 35 watts at sunset. The transmitter is on Bayou View Road in Gulfport, near the Biloxi River. The tower is shared with WLGF 107.1 FM and WGBL 96.7 FM. WROA is also heard on FM translator W261CU at 100.1 MHz. The translator broadcasts from the WGCM AM tower at 250 watts.

The station is managed by Alpha Media, owned by Telesouth Communications, Inc. and broadcasts their format with an ERP of 4.3 kW. WGBL broadcasts from the same transmitter tower as former sister station, WLGF, in Orange Grove.

WLGF (107.1 FM) is a radio station located in Gulfport, Mississippi broadcasting a Contemporary Christian format under the national K-Love radio network. WLGF is owned by Educational Media Foundation and its signal covers areas in Gulfport-Biloxi area.
