Hendon Police College is the principal training centre for London's Metropolitan Police Service. Founded with the official name of the Metropolitan Police College, the college has officially been known as the Peel Centre since 1974, although its original name is still used frequently. Within the police service it is known simply as "Hendon". It is within walking distance of Colindale Underground station on the Northern line and Colindale police station.

Hendon Factory Platform was a short-lived railway station in Hendon which opened in 1918 before closing in 1919. The station was on a short spur line from the Midland Main Line and was operated by the Midland Railway.

The Royal Air Force Museum London (also commonly known as the RAF Museum) is located on the former Hendon Aerodrome. It includes five buildings and hangars showing the history of aviation and the Royal Air Force. It is part of the Royal Air Force Museum.There is another site at Royal Air Force Museum Cosford at RAF Cosford in Shropshire.

St James Catholic High School is voluntary aided mixed sex school for students from 11–18 years of age. It was founded by the Dominican sisters in 1934. Today it operates from one site in Colindale, Barnet in North London, England. The current headteacher is Mrs. Carolyn Laws (since January 2017).

North London Grammar School is a non-denominational independent secondary and preparatory school for girls and boys aged 7–18 located in Hendon, Barnet, a suburb of North London, England. NLGS was formerly the Wisdom School, established in Tottenham, Haringey in 2006. The expanded school, which opened in September 2014, offers a 50,000 square foot site versus the former 6000 square foot Tottenham site.The school was rated Outstanding in all categories according to Ofsted's 2018 report.The school has a capacity for 330 students and space for 30 boarding students. The boarding site is located within the school building. The school accepts day/boarding, local, national and international students. The recently refurbished boarding house is home to 29 boys. They are of mixed year groups, with their number of boarders ranging from year 8 to year 11. Our boarders develop a close attachment to their peers, where they live and study under the care of a supervisor who knows them thoroughly and who maintains a close relationship with their families back home. Our boarding is accredited by the Boarding Schools Association.

Hendon Aerodrome was an aerodrome in London, England, that was an important centre for aviation from 1908 to 1968. It was situated in Colindale, seven miles (11 km) north west of Charing Cross. It nearly became "the Charing Cross of the UK's international air routes", but for the actions of the RAF after the First World War. It was known as a place of pioneering experiments including the first airmail, the first parachute descent from a powered aircraft, the first night flights, and the first aerial defence of a city.

Colindale is a district in the London Borough of Barnet; its main shopping street on the A5 forming the borough boundary with neighbouring Brent. Colindale is a suburban area, and in recent years has had many new apartments built. It's also the location of the 1960s-1970s Grahame Park housing estate, built on former parts of Hendon Aerodrome. It is situated about eight miles (thirteen kilometres) northwest of Charing Cross, directly northwest of Hendon, to the south of Edgware and east of Queensbury.

Colindale is a London Underground station in Colindale, a suburb of north London. The station is on the north–south Edgware branch of the Northern line, between Burnt Oak and Hendon Central stations, and in Travelcard Zone 4.

Grahame Park, located on the site of the old Hendon Aerodrome in North West London, is a north London housing estate in the London Borough of Barnet, including 1,777 council homes built in the 1970s.

Copthall South Fields is a six hectare Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation, next to Fiveways Corner on the A1, in Mill Hill in the London Borough of Barnet.It has several fields with scattered trees and ancient hedgerows. The trees are mainly oak, ash and field maple. The fields contain wild flowers such as meadow vetchling and meadow buttercup, and there are stands of tall herbs. A small plot of native woodland has been planted in the northern field by Watling Chase Community Forest.There is access from Page Street, near Fiveways Corner, and from Champions Way.
