Plainfield South High School, or PSHS, is a four-year public high school located in Plainfield, Illinois, a southwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of the Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202, which also includes three other high schools: Plainfield Central High School, Plainfield North High School and Plainfield East High School. The school's address, phone number, and school district belong to Plainfield, however, the school is within the Joliet city limits.

The district serves Oswego, Aurora, Montgomery, Plainfield, Yorkville, and Joliet. Total enrollment as of 2012 was about 18,000 students. Plattville is a village in Lisbon Township, Kendall County, Illinois, United States, west of Joliet. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 242. The community was established in 1860 and named after founder Daniel Platt, who first built a home there in 1834 on the Frink and Walker stagecoach route between Chicago and Ottawa.Plattville was officially incorporated in March 2006 and had an estimated population of 245 in 2007. Plattville's first mayor was George "Jerry" Friel, who died in 2009. He was instrumental in his role in incorporating the village of Plattville in the mid-2000s, and spent some of his own money to file the town's incorporation papers.

With the growth in the Chicago suburbs in the 1990s and 2000s, the village has seen a population increase, from 4,500 in 1990 to 28,000 in 2000 to nearly 45,000 in 2016. It is between the cities of Naperville and Joliet. The village has established a community Preservation Commission and historic preservation ordinance. It is the home of the Lake Renwick Preserve, a county forest preserve used for birdwatching and other activities. Located south of Village Hall is Settlers' Park, which includes a lake, war monument, open space, and more. The park presents outdoor concerts to the public in the summer.

Word about Indian attacks and massacres from the frontier led the residents of Plainfield, Illinois to convert the house of Rev. Stephen R. Beggs into a makeshift fort.
