Lachine station is a commuter rail station operated by Exo in the borough of Lachine, Canada. It is part of the Vaudreuil–Hudson line. It has no connecting bus routes.As of October 2020, on weekdays, all 11 inbound trains and 12 outbound trains on the line call at this station. On weekends, all trains (four on Saturday and three on Sunday in each direction) call here.The station is located north of Autoroute 20 at the corner of Avenue Cardinal and Boulevard Pine Beach. The station possesses a shelter on either platform but no station building. The station has two side platforms; access between them is provided by a tunnel with headhouses on either side of the tracks, which crosses under the CN rails and highway to reach the station entrance located at the corner of 48e Avenue and Rue Sir-George-Simpson. This station was opened as Grovehill station in 1961, and was renamed Lachine in 1989 after a previous station by that name, located to the east, was closed.

Lakeside Academy (French: Académie Lakeside) is a public secondary school in the borough of Lachine of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Part of the Lester B. Pearson School Board, the school was created in 2001 when two former high schools, Lachine High School and Bishop Whelan High School, were amalgamated. Lakeside has offered the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP or IB)since 2001 to the Enriched students and to all its students since 2010, and it served as the set for the 2009 film The Trotsky.The communities that have the majority of students include the Montreal boroughs of Lachine, LaSalle, and Verdun; and the municipalities of Dorval, Kahnawake, and Montreal West.It offers many extra curricular sports - volleyball, soccer, touch football, flag football, rugby, basketball, indoor soccer, badminton, track and field and swimming. Every year the school puts on a play, a variety show and a music concert. It also has FIRST Robotics Competition team and a FIRST LEGO League team, In 2016 the school incorporated robotics into its Sec 1 curriculum. In 2012, the school hosted a fundraiser with The Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir. The school was slated with closure on the 30 June 2016. However, community groups joined together to convince Lester B Pearson school board to change this decision. On the 26 January 2016 the school won a reprieve to stay open for an extra 12 months. In June 2016 the decision was completely overturned and in September 2016 the school started the school year knowing it was safe from closure. Lakeside (under the informal name "Lachine High") was featured in a humorous anecdote by Matt Kowalewski of the Best Friends Zaibatsu during a Let's Play of Sonic Adventure. In the anecdote, Kowalewski asks his classmates if they "are ready" for an unspecified event.

Dorval—Lachine—LaSalle is a federal electoral district on Montreal Island in Quebec. It encompasses a portion of Quebec formerly included in the electoral districts of LaSalle—Émard and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Lachine.Dorval—Lachine—LaSalle was created by the 2012 federal electoral boundaries redistribution and was legally defined in the 2013 representation order. It came into effect upon the call of the 2015 Canadian federal election, which took place October 19, 2015.The riding was originally intended to be named Dorval—Lachine.

The Arena de Lachine is a 1,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Lachine, Quebec, Canada. It is home to the Les Maroons de Lachine Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey team of the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League. It is located at 1925 rue Saint-Antoine.

Lachine Hospital (French: Hôpital de Lachine) is a public hospital in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located at 650 16th Avenue in the borough of Lachine (at the corner of Saint Antoine Street). A community general hospital, it offers a range of services including ophthalmology, cardiology, general surgery, laboratory services and medical imaging (MRI, CT scan, Radiography, and Ultrasound). The Lachine Hospital is currently involved in a major modernization project. The $95 million project is being developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MHSS) and the Société québécoise des infrastructures (SQI).

René Lévesque Park (French: Parc René-Lévesque) is an urban park in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located in the borough of Lachine on a jetty between the Saint Lawrence River and the end of the Lachine Canal. Approximately 140,000 m2 (1,500,000 sq ft) in area, it is named after René Lévesque, the prime minister of Quebec from 1976 to 1985. The park features a bicycle path, an arboretum and several species of birds. Road access to the park is mainly through the Chemin du Canal, an extension of Saint Patrick Street.

The Fur Trade at Lachine National Historic Site (Lieu historique national de la Commerce-de-la-Fourrure-à-Lachine) is a historic building located in the borough of Lachine in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the western end of the Lachine Canal. It is a National Historic Site of Canada.Beginning in the 17th century, voyageurs would launch their canoes from this location to transport trade goods thousands of miles into the interior of North America lands. At that time the Lachine Rapids prevented large ships from going any further west along the Saint Lawrence River. A stone warehouse was erected in 1803 to store the furs gathered as a result of fur trade. It is now a Parks Canada museum dedicated to the history of this strategic location as a departure and arrival point for fur trading expeditions. The site is separate from Lachine Canal National Historic Site, with which it is inextricably connected. Montreal was the start of nearly all westward canoe routes. See Canadian canoe routes (early). Here furs were transferred from canoe to ship and trade goods from ship to canoe. A natural transfer point was the west end of Montreal Island since goods could be carted over a nine-mile road around the Lachine Rapids. Canoes usually left in May and returned in August. The Northwest Company built a stone warehouse here in 1803. It was used until 1859 when it was sold to the Sisters of Sainte Anne who used it as an employee residence. The Lachine Canal was built around the rapids in 1825. Sir George Simpson (administrator) had a mansion across the canal from the warehouse which was torn down in 1880. Parks Canada acquired the warehouse in 1977 and in 1985 opened a museum.

The Lachine massacre, part of the Beaver Wars, occurred when 1,500 Mohawk warriors launched a surprise attack against the small (375 inhabitants) settlement of Lachine, New France, at the upper end of Montreal Island, on the morning of August 5, 1689. The attack was precipitated by the growing Iroquois frustration with the increased French incursions into their territory and the ongoing concern about French Marquis de Denonville's attack of 1687, and it was encouraged by the settlers of New England as a way to leverage power against New France during King William's War. In their attack, the Mohawk warriors destroyed a substantial portion of the Lachine settlement by fire and captured numerous inhabitants, killing around 240.

Lachine (French pronunciation: ​[laʃin]) is a borough (arrondissement) within the city of Montreal on the Island of Montreal in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It was an autonomous city until the municipal mergers in 2002.

Dorval–L'Île-Dorval was a former borough in the West Island area of Montreal, Quebec. It was composed of the former municipalities of Dorval and L'Île-Dorval. The municipalities were merged into the city of Montreal by the provincial government on January 1, 2002. On June 20, 2004, both Dorval and L'Île-Dorval voted to return to being independent municipalities. This took effect January 1, 2006, dissolving the borough.

Wagar High School was a high school at 5785 Parkhaven Avenue in Côte Saint-Luc, Quebec, Canada. It opened its doors in 1963 as part of the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal (PSBGM) and closed in 2005 as part of the English Montreal School Board (EMSB). At its peak in the mid-70s, Wagar's population topped out at over 1,700 students, despite its having been built to accommodate 1,100. The school was named after Roy Wagar, a school board official. Wagar died during his speech at Monkland High School's graduation ceremony just a year before Wagar High School opened its doors. Over many years, particularly in the 70s, Wagar High School enjoyed a reputation for high academic achievement, consistently scoring at the top of the provincial rankings, and regularly eclipsing teams from rival high schools such as West Hill, Mount Royal, Loyola, Father MacDonald and others, in the CBC Television quiz show "Reach For The Top". After years of declining enrollment, Wagar High School was closed in 2005. The Wagar building was renamed The Giovanni Palatucci Facility on May 16, 2006, after a World War II hero who risked and eventually gave his life to save 5000 Jews. This was especially fitting because of the large percentage of Jewish students at Wagar during most of its history. The school board is attempting to reopen the high school for the 2011–12 school year, as a sports specialty school.The building was reopened as John Grant High School.

John Grant High School (French: École secondaire John Grant) is a high school located in Côte Saint-Luc, Quebec, Canada and a part of the English Montreal School Board (EMSB). It was previously a part of the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal.
