Tandridge

Tandridge Hundred was a hundred in Surrey, England. It comprised areas in the Tandridge District, the easternmost part of the county, bordering Kent, West Sussex and the 1965-created county of Greater London.

Godstone Ponds is a 13.6-hectare (34-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Godstone in Surrey. Bay Pond is an educational nature reserve closed to the public which is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust.The three ponds on this site have been created by damming, with the oldest, Leigh Mill Pond, estimated to be around 1,500 years old. There are also areas of wet alder woodland, and 54 species of breeding birds have been recorded. The site is also important for invertebrates, especially craneflies.

Barrow Green Court is a Grade I listed house near Oxted, Surrey, England.The house was built in the early-17th century, with mid-18th century alterations and 20th-century extensions.Since the 1970s, the businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed has lived at Barrow Green Court.

Godstone railway station is on the Redhill to Tonbridge Line and serves Godstone in Surrey, England. It is 28 miles 13 chains (28.16 miles, 45.32 km) measured from London Charing Cross via Redhill. The Bletchingley Tunnel (grid reference TQ340486), is less than one mile due west of the station is about ½ mile long.

The A25 road is an east–west main road in the South-East of England. Its carries traffic east from Guildford, Surrey, eastward through Surrey and into mid-west Kent, to the town of Sevenoaks, and then on to Wrotham Heath where it connects with the A20. The A25 exits east from Guildford, soon crossing southwards over the North Downs at Newlands Corner, to run eastward below the southern edge of the North Downs, with the road's route alternating between the Vale of Holmesdale and the Greensand Ridge, passing through Dorking, Reigate, Redhill, Nutfield, Bletchingley, Godstone, Oxted, Westerham, Brasted, Sevenoaks and Borough Green. It crosses over the River Wey at Guildford, the River Mole at Dorking, the River Eden at Oxted, and the River Darent at Westerham. The A25 has junctions with several major London to south coast roads: the A24 at Dorking; the A23 at Redhill; the A22 at Godstone; and the A21 at Sevenoaks. A short distance east of Borough Green, at Wrotham Heath, the A25 ends at a junction with the A20, which continues eastward towards Maidstone, and then south-east to Ashford, Folkestone, and then Dover. At its west end in Guildford, the A25 connects with the A3 which takes traffic towards Portsmouth on the south coast. Before leaving Guildford, the A3 connects the A25 with the A31, which continues the westward route to Farnham, before tracking south-westward to Winchester and Bournemouth. The M25 motorway parallels the A25 between Reigate and Sevenoaks, with connections at Reigate, Godstone, and Sevenoaks. The M26 motorway parallels the A25 between Sevenoaks and Wrotham Heath.

Titsey Woods is a 45.3-hectare (112-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Oxted in Surrey.This site is composed of wet semi-natural woods on Gault Clay with diverse ground flora. There are a number of uncommon Lepidoptera, including the silver-washed fritillary and white-letter hairstreak butterflies and rose-marbled and alder kitten moths.

Bay Pond is a 7-hectare (17-acre) nature reserve in Godstone in Surrey. It is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust. It is part of Godstone Ponds Site of Special Scientific InterestBay Pond has no public access, and is an educational reserve run by the Trust. It has four ponds and the main one is believed to have been made in 1611 to hold back water for a mill. Other habitats are wildflower meadows and a mature alder swamp. Butterflies include Gatekeeper, ringlet, small skipper and orange tip.

Godstone is a village and civil parish in the Tandridge District of Surrey, England. It is 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Reigate, 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Oxted, 22 miles (35 km) east of Guildford and 18 miles (29 km) south of London. Close to the North Downs and Blindley Heath. The Greensand Way and the North Downs Way both pass through Godstone.

Woldingham and Oxted Downs is a 128.4-hectare (317-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Caterham in Surrey.This sloping site on the North Downs has species-rich chalk grassland, woodland and scrub. Common plants in grazed areas include red fescue, sheep’s fescue, quaking grass, yellow oat grass, purging flax, bee orchid, thyme, common centaury and yellow-wort.

Oxted is a town and civil parish in the Tandridge district of Surrey, England, at the foot of the North Downs. It is 9 miles (14 km) south south-east of Croydon in Greater London, 8.5 miles (13.7 km) west of Sevenoaks in Kent, and 9 miles (14 km) north of East Grinstead in West Sussex. Oxted is a commuter town with a railway station, with direct train services to London and has the district council offices. Its main developed area is contiguous with the village of Limpsfield. Six intermittent headwaters of the River Eden unite in the occasional market town including its furthest source, east of Titsey Place. The Eden feeds into Kent's longest river, the Medway. Only the southern slope of the North Downs is steep and its towns and farmland form the Vale of Holmesdale, a series of headwaters across Surrey and Kent to separate rivers. The settlements of Hurst Green and Holland within the civil parish to the south, including a public house named after Oxted, are continuous but almost wholly residential areas (contiguous neighbourhoods).

Tilburstow Hill is a 9-hectare (22-acre) nature reserve south-east of Godstone in Surrey. It is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust.This is a semi-natural broadleaved wood on the Greensand Ridge, with sweet chestnut, sessile and pedunculate oak, beech, silver birch and hazel. Ground flora include dog's mercury and garlic mustard.There is access from Rabies Heath Road.

The 1929 Luft Hansa Junkers G.24 crash occurred on 6 November 1929 when a Junkers G 24 of Luft Hansa crashed at Godstone, Surrey, United Kingdom while on an international scheduled flight from Croydon, Surrey, United Kingdom to Amsterdam-Schiphol Municipal Airport, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Of the eight people on board, Glen Kidston was the only survivor.
