Forgandenny

Strathallan School is a private boarding and day school in Scotland for boys and girls aged 5-18. The school has a 153-acre (62-hectare) campus at Forgandenny, a few miles south of Perth.

Forgandenny railway station served the village of Forgandenny, Perth and Kinross, Scotland from 1848 to 1956 on the Scottish Central Railway.

Aberdalgie (Gaelic: Obar Dheilgidh, 'Confluence of the Thorn-Stream') is a small village in the Scottish council area of Perth and Kinross. It is 3 miles (5 kilometres) southwest of Perth, and lies between the B9112 road, to the north, and the River Earn, to the south. Milltown Burn and Cotton Burn streams meet in the village centre, The village contains Aberdalgie Parish Church, the present building of which dates to 1773. The historic Dupplin Castle is 1+1⁄2 miles (2.5 kilometres) east of the village. The parish of Aberdalgie takes its name from the village, which had a population of 402 at the 2011 Census.

Cherrybank Gardens was a public garden in the southwestern outskirts of the Scottish city of Perth. Originally Bell's Cherrybank Gardens, when it was created in 1984 by Scotch whisky producers Bell's, whose headquarters were adjacent to the property, the gardens comprised 7 acres (2.8 ha). It included over 900 varieties of heather, the largest collection of its kind in the United Kingdom. Designed in the late 1970s, the gardens featured a sundial designed by Ian Hamilton Finlay.In 2002, the gardens were gifted to Scotland's Garden Trust (SGT) by Diageo plc, the multi-national company created following the merger of Bell's owners, United Distillers (and their parent, drinks group Guinness), with International Distillers & Vintners (and their parent, hotel group Grand Metropolitan).Two years later, in March 2004, the gardens announced its intention to develop an adjacent site into a £30 million National Garden for Scotland named The Calyx. In 2007, the project failed to gain the required lottery funding. The collapse of the Calyx scheme brought about the closure of the gardens in 2008, despite a petition by local residents.In September 2008, six months after its closure, it was announced that the gardens were due to reopen, but it failed again. In 2012, the property was sold to an energy company.

Broxden Junction (also known as Broxden Roundabout or Broxden Interchange) is one of the busier and more important road junctions in Scotland. It is located on the outskirts of Perth, and is one of the city's two major roundabouts – the other being Inveralmond Roundabout, where the A9 meets the A912 Dunkeld Road, 2.3 miles (3.7 km) to the north-northwest. The roundabout, oval in shape, is an important hub of the Scottish road network, a major junction on the A9 north–south route, and the UK's northernmost motorway junction, being junction 12 of the M90 motorway. Prior to Dunfermline's ascension to city status, all of the seven cities in Scotland were signposted from its exits. Broxden is an interchange for several local bus and long-distance coach services, the latter provided by Scottish Citylink, Megabus, FlixBus, and Ember. There is a park and ride area with a local bus service to Perth city centre. The roundabout was originally designed with the future intention of connecting the northbound A9 and the M90, with the roundabout being replaced by a grade separated junction, and in 2008 Transport Scotland published proposals for the dualling of the A9 between Dunblane and Inverness including the replacement of Broxden Junction with a flyover.

Invermay ( ) is a diffuse settlement in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is situated approximately 2 km southeast of Forteviot on the Water of May, some 8 km southwest of Perth. Before the mid 15th century, it was known as Innermeath, and was the home of Sir John Stewart of Innermeath (great-grandson of John Stewart of Bonkyll), whose elder son was the first Lord of Lorne, and whose younger son was The Black Knight of Lorn, a powerful 15th century magnate, allied to the Black Douglases; both children were born at Invermay (still called Innermeath at the time of their birth). Sir John's grandson, William Stewart, surrendered the Lordship of Lorne to the king, in return for being made the first Lord Innermeath; the title became extinct in 1625, by which time the name of the location had become Invermay. An early medieval freestanding cross was once located at Invermay (grid reference NO05981664, but was destroyed in the 18th century and it was replaced with a modern stone. The fragments of the original are thought to be those now found in the Porch of Forteviot church.

Pitkeathly Wells (spelling variants: Pitcaithly, Pitceathly, Pitkethley, etc.) is a hamlet in the Perth and Kinross area of Scotland, famed for its mineral water. The water was recommended for health during the 19th century, and was bottled for sale, sometimes carbonated. In 1910, Schweppes took over bottling the water, however, they shut down production after a fire.

Perth High School is a six-year, non-denominational comprehensive secondary school in Perth, Scotland. Established in 1950 at Gowans Terrace in a post-war prefabricated structure of a type that had not previously been used for any large school in Scotland. The school relocated to its present location in 1971, two years after the opening in 1969 of the adjacent Oakbank Primary School. It stands in extensive grounds occupying a position on a hill overlooking Oakbank Road and Viewlands Road West.

Dupplin Castle is a country house and former castle in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, situated to the west of Aberdalgie and northeast of Forteviot and Dunning. It overlooks Strath Earn. The earliest known owner of the castle was Sir William Oliphant in the late 13th century. The Battle of Dupplin Moor took place in the vicinity in 1332, when it was won by Edward Baliol. The castle was destroyed in 1461 and rebuilt. Dupplin was sold after some four hundred years by the 5th Lord Oliphant (who, per the diploma registered under the Great Seal, 10 March 1640, was also Lord Aberdalgie and Lord Dupplin) in 1623. It fell into the Hay family, after it was granted to Charles I's Lord Chancellor, the 1st Earl of Kinnoull. It was again rebuilt in 1688, though retained its earlier tower and some remnants of the earlier castle. In 1729 the estate was relandscaped including infilling of a deep precipice between two hills. A fire gutted the castle in 1827, prompting a full rebuilding and restoration. The castle was rebuilt as a country house under architect William Burn in 1828–32 at a cost of roughly £30,000. In 1911 it was purchased by whisky baron Sir John Dewar, who was ennobled as Lord Forteviot of Dupplin five years later. In the 1920s or 1930s there was a fire in the interior. It was demolished in August–October 1967. A new house was built in 1970 on the foundations.

Pitheavlis Castle, located in Perth, Scotland, was built in the late 16th century. Now a Category A listed building, it stands in a residential neighbourhood on Needless Road. No historical event is connected with the castle.The castle was the home of the Oliphant family until the 17th century. It later became the property of the Murray family. In the early 20th century, it was bought by Montolieu Oliphant-Murray, 1st Viscount Elibank, then whisky baron Sir Robert Usher. He owned it until 1920. It is now divided into flats.

Viewlands House is an historic building in the Viewlands area immediately to the west of the centre of Perth, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. Located on Viewlands Road, it is a Category B listed building, built around 1840. One of its main features is its Ionic order-columned porch with balustraded parapet. A twelve-room extension was added in 1997, bringing the building's total up to 32.Formerly a training college for Perth-based General Accident Assurance Corporation, it is now an Abbeyfield retirement home.

Craigie (formerly Craigie Knowes) is a residential area of Perth, Scotland, immediately to the south and southwest of the city centre, beyond the South Inch. It is situated in the foothills of the 430 feet (130 m) St Magdalene's Hill, over which the M90 motorway passes, as does the B9112. It is separated from the city by the Highland Main Line. Craigie Hill, a section of St Magdalene's Hill and towards the eastern end of Gask Ridge, is home to Craigie Hill Golf Club, an 18-hole golf course established in 1911. A pitch and putt course was formerly located on the hill. Its registered office was at 52 Tay Street.Craigie Burn flows down from Craigie Hill, along the southern edge of the South Inch, en route to discharging into the River Tay.
