Pyle's Massacre, (also Pyle's defeat, Pyle's hacking match, or Battle of Haw River), was fought during the American Revolutionary War in present-day Alamance County on February 24, 1781. The battle was between Patriot troops attached to the Continental Army under Colonel Henry Lee and the Loyalist North Carolina militia commanded by Dr. John Pyle. Due to the unique uniform design of his forces, the Loyalists mistakenly thought Colonel Lee was the expected British cavalry commander, Banastre Tarleton, who was known to be en route to reinforce Pyle. When Lee's men opened fire, they took Pyle's force totally by surprise. This resulted in an extremely lopsided victory for Lee, and Pyle's command was scattered and routed.

Graham is a city in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Burlington, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census the population was 17,153. It is the county seat of Alamance County.

The district includes a variety of institutional, commercial, and residential buildings largely dating from the 19th century. Notable buildings include the Alamance County Courthouse, the centerpiece of the district; Graham Presbyterian Church; Harden House; Hunter House; Nicks Store; McBride Holt House (c. 1885); Scott Building (c. 1900); Vestal Hotel; Holt-Scott General·Store (c. 1850-1860); National Bank of Alamance (c. 1906); Mont-White Theatre; and Paris Building (c. 1912).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Oneida Cotton Mills and Scott-Mebane Manufacturing Company Complex, also known as the Scott and Donnell Mill, is a historic hosiery mill building in Graham, Alamance County, North Carolina. It consists of four contributing buildings and one contributing structure. The buildings date from 1882 into the 1940s; all are red-brick except for a small shed-roofed bathroom building from the 1940s. The complex includes the Scott and Donnell Mill (1882, c. 1959), a smokestack (1882), Holt Mill (c. 1898; c. 1959), Scott-Mebane Manufacturing Company (c. 1900; c. 1906; c. 1959), and opener Room (c. 1931).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The district contains single and multi-family dwellings, two schools, one commercial building and three churches.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Stinking Quarter Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It is a tributary of Big Alamance Creek. According to tradition, the name "Stinking Quarter" arose from the putrid stench of carrion after a buffalo hunt.

Burlington Outlet Village is an outlet shopping center located just off I-40/85 in Burlington, North Carolina. Burlington Outlet Village, formerly known as the Burlington Manufacturers Outlet Center (BMOC), was the first factory outlet center to open in North Carolina. The center consists of multiple buildings - the main portion of the property was originally constructed in 1981. Additional buildings were constructed in 1983. The center was renovated in 2007 & 2008. Renovations included: rebranding, new name, new logo, new marketing campaigns, new store fronts, lighting, signage, parking lots and landscaping to revitalize the center. Burlington Outlet Village is owned and managed by Anthony & Co. ONCOR International of Raleigh, North Carolina. The mall is 24 acre large and offers 25 brand name shops.

Great Alamance Creek, also called Big Alamance Creek, is a 37-mile long creek that is a tributary of the Haw River. The creek's headwaters are in Guilford County, but it flows primarily through Alamance County, North Carolina. It is a major source of water for the cities of Burlington and Greensboro through the Lake Mackintosh Reservoir. It was called "Alamance" after an old local Native American word used to describe the blue-colored mud in the bottom of the creek.The creek was a part of the site of the Battle of Alamance, fought in 1771 between the colonial militia under the command of Governor William Tryon. When Alamance County was formed from Orange County in 1849, it was named for this battle and creek. Great Alamance Creek has a tributary that is also called "Alamance Creek" - Little Alamance Creek, which is actually a little longer than Great Alamance Creek at over 12 miles, much of it in Burlington. However, it has less water flow than Great Alamance Creek. Little Alamance Creek flows through City Park in Burlington.
