Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe is an Indian restaurant on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Vimala Rajendran, an Indian immigrant to the United States, opened the restaurant in 2010. The restaurant purveys home-style Indian cuisine, and Southern food with local produce and pasture-raised meats. The company has provided free lunches in support of refugees at various events.

Mama Dip's is a traditional Southern country cooking restaurant located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in the United States. It was founded by Mildred Cotton Council in 1976. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offers a take-home menu. They sell items such as barbecue sauce, poppy seed dressing, pecan pie, souvenirs and apparel at the restaurant’s general store. "Mama Dip" (Mildred Council) also distributes her barbecue sauce and dressings to local specialty foods shops.

The Hargraves Community Center is located at 216 North Roberson Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Originally known as the Negro Community Center, it was renamed in 1973 after William M. Hargraves, a former member of the Parks and Recreation Commission who played a pivotal role in implementing several programs at the Hargraves Center that greatly benefitted the community. Hargraves died on February 5, 1973, after succumbing to injuries sustained in an auto accident and the center was renamed posthumously in his honor. Construction of the center was originally completed in 1945.

Crook's Corner is a defunct Southern restaurant in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The business was named one of "America's Classics" by the James Beard Foundation Awards. It opened in 1982 and closed in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Hackney School was a private secondary school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It served as secondary education for black students until merging with the Quaker Freedman School to form the Orange County Training School.

Chapel Hill Town Hall is a historic town hall located at Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina. It built in 1938, and is a two-story, red brick, Colonial Revival style building. It has a full basement and a hipped slate roof topped by an octagonal wooden cupola.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

St. Paul A.M.E. Church is a church building in the second district of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in the United States. Being the first black church in the area, it is the spiritual home to numerous communicants, including numerous students studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The West Chapel Hill Historic District is a national historic district in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The district comprises several small neighborhoods and is roughly bounded by West Cameron Avenue, Malette Street, Ransom Street, Pittsboro Street, University Drive and the Westwood Subdivision. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, and was enlarged in 2019. The district encompasses an upper-middle class residential neighborhood that developed during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The growth of the district is related to the development of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the town of Chapel Hill.

Franklin Street is a prominent thoroughfare in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Historic Franklin Street is considered the center of social life for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as the town of Chapel Hill. It is home to numerous coffee shops, restaurants, museums, bookshops, music stores and bars. The street in downtown Chapel Hill is notable for its nightlife, culture, and regular festivities. The stretch of college-oriented businesses continues west into neighboring Carrboro, where the street's name changes to Main Street. Both streets are home to small music venues, like the Cat's Cradle and the Carrboro Arts Center, which were influential in the birth of Chapel Hill rock. UNC's Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, as well as the Ackland Art Museum are also located in this area.

Top of the Hill (TOPO) is a brewpub, restaurant, event space and distillery located in downtown Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The restaurant and brewery opened in 1994 at the intersection of Franklin and Columbia Streets adjacent to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was one of the first microbreweries in the state. TOPO expanded in 2010, adding the Great Room event space and the Back Bar, which is home to North Carolina's first on-premise cask ale program. TOPO Distillery opened in 2012 and produces the only 100% locally sourced and USDA certified organic spirits in the deep South: TOPO Organic Vodka, TOPO Organic Piedmont Gin and TOPO Moonshine Carolina Whiskey. All three organic spirits are made with 100% organic Carolina soft red winter wheat grown less than 100 miles from the distillery. The distillery is also located on Franklin Street, three blocks south in the former printing press room of the Chapel Hill News.

The Hollywood Theater was a theater that primarily catered to African American patrons in Carrboro, North Carolina between 1939 and 1961. Open every day except for Sunday, the Hollywood Theater saw weekly attendance numbers between 1,300 and 1,500, including children and adults. The theater showed popular Hollywood movies as well as race films - films created for an African American audience featuring African American cast members.

Beta Theta Pi Fraternity House, also known as the Eta chapter of Beta Theta Pi, is a historic fraternity house located at Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina. It was built in 1929, and consists of a 2 1/2-story, five bay by three bay, brick main block flanked by lower 2 1/2-story, brick wings with gambrel roofs. The house is in the Southern Colonial Revival style and features a full-width, flat-roof portico with Doric order columns. The Eta chapter was first active at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1852 to 1859, then reestablished in 1884.The fraternity house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
