St. Paul A.M.E. Church is a church building in the second district of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in the United States. Being the first black church in the area, it is the spiritual home to numerous communicants, including numerous students studying at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Crook's Corner is a defunct Southern restaurant in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The business was named one of "America's Classics" by the James Beard Foundation Awards. It opened in 1982 and closed in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Hollywood Theater was a theater that primarily catered to African American patrons in Carrboro, North Carolina between 1939 and 1961. Open every day except for Sunday, the Hollywood Theater saw weekly attendance numbers between 1,300 and 1,500, including children and adults. The theater showed popular Hollywood movies as well as race films - films created for an African American audience featuring African American cast members.

St. Joseph C.M.E. Church is a historically Black Christian Methodist Episcopal Church located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, which is within the Seventh Episcopal District of the C.M.E Church. The Church was founded in the late 19th century, serving the religious and broader community of the Northside neighborhood for over a century. St. Joseph C.M.E Church played a pivotal role in the spiritual, cultural, and civil rights history of the Chapel Hill, North Carolina community and Northside neighborhood.

Mama Dip's is a traditional Southern country cooking restaurant located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in the United States. It was founded by Mildred Cotton Council in 1976. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offers a take-home menu. They sell items such as barbecue sauce, poppy seed dressing, pecan pie, souvenirs and apparel at the restaurant’s general store. "Mama Dip" (Mildred Council) also distributes her barbecue sauce and dressings to local specialty foods shops.

The Hargraves Community Center is located at 216 North Roberson Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Originally known as the Negro Community Center, it was renamed in 1973 after William M. Hargraves, a former member of the Parks and Recreation Commission who played a pivotal role in implementing several programs at the Hargraves Center that greatly benefitted the community. Hargraves died on February 5, 1973, after succumbing to injuries sustained in an auto accident and the center was renamed posthumously in his honor. Construction of the center was originally completed in 1945.

The A.D. Clark Pool is a historic public swimming facility located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Opened in 1961 at the Hargraves Community Center (formerly the Roberson Street Center), the pool was established to provide a safe and accessible swimming space for the town’s Black community during the era of segregation. Named after Adolphus D. Clark, a local civil rights leader and the first president of the Chapel Hill NAACP, the pool was funded through significant local fundraising efforts and a $40,000 donation from Cornelia Love, a Chapel Hill resident who supported Clark’s vision for a community pool. Today, the A.D. Clark Pool is operated by the Town of Chapel Hill and continues to serve as a vital community resource, offering seasonal public swim times, lessons, and local events.

Franklin Street Arts Collective is an art gallery, art collective, and non-profit organization located in Carrboro, North Carolina. Franklin Street Arts Collective is commonly called FRANK. FRANK features a wide variety of art by local and regional artists including painting, mixed media, ceramics, furniture, jewelry, and sculpture. FRANK is a contemporary fine arts gallery, featuring work by local artists and enriching the community through exhibitions, events, and arts education.

Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe is an Indian restaurant on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Vimala Rajendran, an Indian immigrant to the United States, opened the restaurant in 2010. The restaurant purveys home-style Indian cuisine, and Southern food with local produce and pasture-raised meats. The company has provided free lunches in support of refugees at various events.

The Hackney School was a private secondary school in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It served as secondary education for black students until merging with the Quaker Freedman School to form the Orange County Training School.

The Colonial Drugstore, located at 450 West Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC, opened in 1951 and closed in 1996. It was a store and restaurant and the site of a pivotal 1960 civil rights sit-in by the Chapel Hill Nine, challenging segregation in Chapel Hill in 1960.

Cat's Cradle is a music venue and nightclub located in Carrboro, North Carolina, less than a mile from the University of North Carolina campus. It has two floors with a capacity of 750 people. In the early 1990s, it contributed to the Chapel Hill region being called the "Next Seattle" by the music press, given that the club hosted upcoming regional and national alternative and grunge acts such as Nirvana (who last performed there just 10 days after the release of Nevermind), Pearl Jam, Sonic Youth, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Ween (who documented their December 9, 1992, performance with At the Cat's Cradle, 1992). In later years, the venue also saw performances by John Mayer, Iggy Pop, Sonic Youth and Joan Baez. In August 2009, The Cosmopolitans played their reunion concert at Cat's Cradle following a 27-year hiatus.
