Bellaire is a village in Belmont County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River. The population was 3,870 at the 2020 census, having peaked in 1920. It is part of the Wheeling metropolitan area. The Bellaire Bridge (now abandoned and closed) was filmed in the 1991 motion picture The Silence of the Lambs. The curved railroad viaduct and bridge over the Ohio, the B & O Railroad Viaduct, were featured in the 2010 film Unstoppable and is a registered historic structure.

The Imperial Glass Company is located in Bellaire, Ohio with a factory located on 29th Street and the offices located on Belmont Street. The factory was razed in 1995 to make room for commercial development and the Belmont Street location was transformed into a museum known as the National Imperial Glass Museum. The building was placed on the National Register on 1983-09-08.

St. John Central Academy is a private christian school in Bellaire, Ohio. Their nickname is the Fighting Irish, and their athletic teams compete as members of the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference. From 1857 to 2019, a St. John Central High School operated as part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Steubenville. The diocese announced on February 5, 2019 that the school would close in June 2019. However, a private committee established St. John Central Academy in the same building, opening the fall after the former school closed. The new academy inherited the history of St. John Central, including its athletic teams, but is considered a new entity with no affiliation to the diocese.

The Zweig Building is a historic commercial building in downtown Bellaire, Ohio, United States. Constructed in 1912, it is an early example of the Chicago school. Constructed of brick, the building sits on a stone foundation and is covered with an asphalt roof. Four stories tall, the facade is four bays wide and the side eight bays wide, with two windows in each bay on each floor. Prominent pilasters separating the bays, in which are placed glass display windows on the first floor, both front and side. To the rear, part of the basement is exposed, due to sloping ground. The Windsor Hotel, established to serve travellers on the Pennsylvania Railroad, was formerly located behind the Zweig. During the early twentieth century, the building was used by small businesses, such as dentists and jewellers.By the early twenty-first century, much of Bellaire's downtown built environment had been lost to destruction or extensive modifications. The Zweig Building presents a radically different appearance: few changes have been made, and the building retains original features such as prism-like transom lights on the exterior and metal ceilings and hardwood flooring on the interior. Due to its well-preserved historic architecture, the Zweig was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. It is currently one of five Bellaire locations on the Register, along with the Imperial Glass Company, a house known as Belleview Heights, part of the B & O Railroad Viaduct over the Ohio River, and the towboat Donald B.In 2001, more than $2.2 million in historic preservation tax credits was given to the building's owner, Bellaire Housing Partners, which used the money in an adaptive reuse project to convert the Zweig Building into elder housing apartments. Their project won recognition from the Ohio Historical Society, which praised the group for retaining the building's architecture during a worthy renovation project.

Bellaire High School is a public high school located in Bellaire, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Bellaire Local School District. Athletic teams compete as the Bellaire Big Reds in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the Buckeye 8 Athletic League as well as the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference.

Wheeling National Heritage Area is a federally designated National Heritage Area comprising the city of Wheeling, West Virginia and its industrial heritage associated with the region's steel industry and the commerce generated by the Ohio River. Products made in Wheeling included steel, iron, glass, tobacco products and nails. The existence of river crossings by road and rail, combined with access to river traffic, made Wheeling an important inland port.Major sites associated with the national heritage area include the Wheeling Suspension Bridge and the La Belle Iron Works.

Belleview Heights, also known as the Rigas House, is located at 61500 Candlewick Lane in Bellaire, Ohio. The house and gardens were placed on the National Register on 1994-04-08. The mansion once housed Bob Hope during 1951, and was also the site of the premiere of My Favorite Spy.

The Bellaire Bridge or Interstate Bridge is a privately owned, closed cantilever truss toll bridge that spans the Ohio River between Benwood, West Virginia (near Wheeling) and Bellaire, Ohio (near Martins Ferry). It provided a link for commuters between southern Ohio border towns and West Virginia steel mills from 1926 to 1991.The overall length of the bridge is 2,770 feet (840 m), including the approach of 850 feet (260 m) on the West Virginia side and 670 feet (200 m) on the Ohio side of the river. The highest point in the bridge is 350 feet (110 m) above the water line.Built in 1926, the bridge is likely the oldest cantilever truss bridge in West Virginia, and is the second oldest vehicular truss bridge over the entire Ohio River. It is currently unused, and missing approach spans on the Ohio side. As of September 2022, the bridge remains standing, with status regarding demolition unknown.

B & O Railroad Viaduct is a historic structure in Bellaire, Ohio, listed in the National Register of Historic Places on June 22, 1976.

Standard, also known historically as Donald B and Barbara H, is a paddlewheel towboat that has been named a US National Historic Landmark and is now based at Bellaire in eastern Ohio. Built in 1923, she is the oldest surviving unaltered rear-wheel towboat afloat. The boat was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989.

Toy and Plastic Brick Museum is located in Bellaire, Ohio. The museum has been known as "Unofficial LEGO(r) Museum" and "The Plastic Brick Store, INC." The museum is host to an extensive private collection of LEGO, as well as works by brick artists Jason Burik, Eric Harshbarger, Brian Korte, and Nathan Sawaya. Toy and Plastic Brick Museum showcases the Guinness Book of World Records "World's largest LEGO image (mosaic) designed by Brian Korte of Brickworkz LLC and built as an installation by museum staff and ~250 children, where it remains for public display.

WLYV (1290 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a news/talk/sports format. Licensed to Bellaire, Ohio, United States, it serves the Wheeling area. The station is currently owned by Cody Barack, through licensee Ohio Midland Newsgroup, LLC. Originally known as WTRF, the station signed on the air for the first time in 1947 on both the AM and FM bands. Fittingly, the call sign stood for "Two Radio Frequencies." It became WTRX in 1955 and then WOMP in 1959. On June 5, 2017, WOMP changed their format from sports to classic country, branded as "Lejends 100.1/1290" (simulcast on FM translator W261DH 100.1 FM Wheeling, West Virginia). The station changed its call sign to WLEJ on June 12, 2017. The station changed its call sign and branding again on September 8, 2017, to WYLY, "Willie 100.1/1290". When the WLIE call letters became available, WYLY used them and changed to WLIE on January 1, 2019. On October 31, 2021, Forever Media consummated the sale of WLIE, three sister stations, and a translator to Ohio Midland Newsgroup, LLC for $365,000. On November 15, 2021, WLIE changed its format from classic country to a simulcast of talk/sports-formatted WEIR 1430 AM Weirton, West Virginia, branded as "River Talk".. It changed its callsign to WLYV on November 23, 2021 with its own live and local content.
