Santa Croce (Venice)

Piazzale Roma is a square in Venice, Italy, at the entrance of the city, at the end of the Ponte della Libertà. Piazzale Roma and nearby Tronchetto island are the only places in Venice's insular urban core accessible to ground motor vehicles, such as automobiles and buses.The square acts as the main bus station for Venice. There are bus links to Venice Marco Polo Airport and Treviso Airport. The square is close to the main Santa Lucia railway station for Venice, linked by the Ponte della Costituzione, a modern footbridge over the western end of the Grand Canal, installed in 2008. The Venice People Mover, a public transit system, connects Tronchetto island and Piazzale Roma. It started operating in 2010.

The Ponte della Costituzione (English: Constitution Bridge) is the fourth bridge over the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. It was designed by Santiago Calatrava, and was moved into place in 2007 (connecting Stazione di Santa Lucia to Piazzale Roma), amid protest by politicians and the general public. The bridge was installed in 2008 and opened to the public on the night of September 11, 2008. The bridge was known as Quarto Ponte sul Canal Grande before the official name was adopted to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Italian constitution in 2008. Tourists and locals in Venice now refer to it as the Calatrava Bridge (Italian: Ponte di Calatrava).

Giardino Papadopoli is a terraced garden filled with shade trees in the Venetian sestiere of Santa Croce, between the Venezia Santa Lucia train station and Piazzale Roma. Its area is about 8,800 sq. m. The gardens occupy the lands of the demolished monastery of Santa Croce. The first park was laid out in 1834 by Francesco Bagnara for the owners of the Palazzo Foresti Papadopoli. In 1863, Niccolò and Angelo Papadopoli commissioned Marco Quignon to expand and modify the gardens. A third of its area was destroyed in 1933 when the Rio Novo canal was constructed.

The Chiesa di San Nicolò da Tolentino, commonly known as the Tolentini, is a church in the sestiere of Santa Croce in Venice, northern Italy. It lies in a Campo of the same name and along the Rio dei Tolentini, near the Giardino Papadopoli.

Sant'Andrea della Zirada is a church and a monastery in Venice, northern Italy. The church and the monastery, both dedicated to Saint Andrew, were founded in 1329 by four noblewomen on a place called "cao de zirada". The church was largely rebuilt in 1475, the most important part remaining of the original Gothic edifice being the façade. Noteworthy is the main portal in Istrian white stone with two 14th-century bas-reliefs of Christ as Man of Sorrows and The Calling of the Apostles Saints Peter and Andrew from the fishing boat. The interior has a single nave with a plain ceiling, with a Gothic choir with stucco part from the 17th century. The main artworks are the Dead Christ between St. Charles Borromeo and Angels by Domenico Tintoretto, the St. Augustine with Two Angels by Paris Bordon and a St. Jerome by Paolo Veronese, the last now in the Accademia.

Venezia Santa Lucia (Italian: Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia) (IATA: XVQ) is the central station of Venice in the north-east of Italy. It is a terminus and located at the northern edge of Venice's historic city (Italian: Centro storico). The station is one of Venice's two most important railway stations; the other one is Venezia Mestre, a mainline junction station on Venice's mainland district of Mestre. Both Santa-Lucia and Mestre stations are managed by Grandi Stazioni and they are connected to each other by Ponte della Libertà (English: Liberty Bridge).

San Simeone Piccolo (also called San Simeone e Giuda) is a church in the sestiere of Santa Croce in Venice, northern Italy. From across the Grand Canal it faces the railroad terminal serving as entrypoint for most visitors to the city.

Palazzo Adoldo is a Renaissance palace in Venice, located in the Santa Croce district and overlooking the Grand Canal. On the right there is the church of San Simeon Piccolo, on the left—Palazzo Foscari Contarini.

Palazzo Ariani, also known as Palazzo Ariani Minotto Cicogna (in Venetian, Palazzo Arian), is a palace in Venice, located in the Dorsoduro district, almost opposite to the church of Angelo San Raffaele and not far from San Sebastiano. The nearby bridge Ponte del Soccorso connects it to the Palazzo Zenobio.

The Ca' Zenobio degli Armeni (Palazzo Zenobio, Ca' Zenobio) is a Baroque-style palace structure in the sestiere of Dorsoduro, in Venice, Italy. The nearby bridge Ponte del Soccorso connects it to the Palazzo Ariani.

Palazzo Foscari Contarini is a Renaissance style palace in Venice Italy, in the sestiere of Santa Croce (N.A. 713-714), facing the Grand Canal, near the Ponte degli Scalzi and Palazzo Adoldo.

The Ponte degli Scalzi (or Ponte dei Scalsi, in Venetian; literally, "bridge of the barefoot [monks]"), is one of only four bridges in Venice to span the Grand Canal. The bridge connects the sestieri of Santa Croce and Cannaregio. On the north side, Cannaregio, are the Chiesa degli Scalzi (Church of the Barefoot or Discalced Monks) and the Santa Lucia (Ferrovia) railway station. The south side is the sestiere of Santa Croce. Designed by Eugenio Miozzi, it was completed in 1934, replacing an Austrian iron bridge. It is a stone arch bridge.Ponte degli Scalzi is located close to the site of construction of the fourth bridge over the Grand Canal, popularly known as Ponte di Calatrava although it was formally inaugurated as the Ponte della Costituzione. Construction was delayed in part due to controversy over its modern style, but the basic span was finally in place on August 11, 2007, and the bridge was opened for public use on September 11, 2008. This bridge is closer to the bus station than the Scalzi bridge.
