Shadow Mountain High School is a public high school located in the north valley of Phoenix, Arizona. The school is part of the Paradise Valley Unified School District. The school's athletic teams are known as the Matadors. Shadow Mountain's school colors are navy blue and gold. 1,475 students attend Shadow Mountain as of 2014. It opened in 1974.

It is supervised and maintained by the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Phoenix as part of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve system of parks. The preserve offers scenic vistas and trails for hiking and mountain biking.Geologically, Lookout Mountain is composed of Tertiary basalt flows, Tertiary sediments and basalt breccia.

Paradise Valley Mall was a shopping mall located in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The last remaining anchor stores were JCPenney and Costco. There were 3 vacant anchor stores that were once Sears, Dillard's, and Macy's. The former owner, Macerich, has rezoned the land for mixed use. Demolition of the indoor mall portion started in July 2021 and ended in February 2022. On April 8, 2021, Macerich sold the mall to Phoenix-based RED Development. The mall, developed by Westcor, is surrounded by a circular street named Paradise Village Parkway. This street design was inspired by the Metrocenter Parkway circular street around Metrocenter Mall, which was also developed by Westcor in the years prior (1970–1973). The mall closed on March 31, 2021, Demolition began on July 7, 2021.

Piestewa Peak ( py-ES-tə-wah; O'odham: Vainom Do'ag, formerly Squaw Peak), at 2,610 feet (796 m) is the second highest point in the Phoenix Mountains, after Camelback Mountain, and the third highest in the city of Phoenix, Arizona. It is located in the Piestewa Peak Recreation Area within the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, near Piestewa Freeway (Arizona State Highway 51). Piestewa Peak is named in honor of Army Spc. Lori Ann Piestewa, the first known Native American woman to die in combat in the U.S. military, and the first female soldier to be killed in action in the 2003 Iraq War.

Paradise Valley High School (PVHS) is a high school located in Phoenix, Arizona and was the first of five high schools built in the Paradise Valley Unified School District. Paradise Valley High School opened in 1957. The school's athletic teams are referred to as the Trojans. Featuring a Block Schedule, Paradise Valley teaches a wide selection of courses in not only core academics but also technology and the arts. The football program installed one of the first artificial turfs in the state, the only Sprinturf installation in Arizona, as its main football, soccer, and track field at a cost of $1 million.
