Eenrum

The Seal Rehabilitation and Research Centre (SRRC; Dutch: Zeehondencentrum Pieterburen) is located in Pieterburen, Netherlands. Lenie ‘t Hart founded the centre in 1971 and the centre has evolved from a simple "day care" for young seals to a scientific research-based seal hospital, with accompanying facilities such as quarantine, a laboratory, a chemist and modern research facilities. Hundreds of seals are cared for annually. The center rescues seals that have been injured by boats or fishing nets and those that have been sickened due to pollution. The center also rescues orphaned pups. All rehabilitated seals are released into the wild after their rehabilitation period, which lasts from several weeks to a maximum of six months. None of the animals remain in captivity and none of the seals are bred. The center also collects pieces of fishing nets that float in the sea and injure the animals. The center is open to visitors daily. In 2014 Lenie 't Hart cut ties with the centre, because she refused to accept the new scientifically based policy on the treatment of injured seals and intervened continuously with the people working there.

Pieterburen is a village in the northeastern Netherlands, located in the municipality of Het Hogeland, Groningen.

Mensingeweer is a small village in the Netherlands; it is located in the municipality of Het Hogeland, Groningen. It lies on the provincial road N361 from Winsum to Leens at the crossroads to Eenrum. The long-distance footpath called Pieterpad runs through the town and the Michaelkerk has an old Arp Schnitger organ that came from a church in Pieterburen and was installed in 1901. The town also has an old windmill called the Hollands Welvaart built in 1855.

Westernieland (Gronings: Westernijland) is a village in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is part of the municipality of Het Hogeland. The village is located near the Wadden Sea.

Baflo (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbɑfloː]; Gronings: Bavvelt [ˈbaʋl̩t]) is a village in the municipality of Het Hogeland, Netherlands. Famous people born in Baflo include humanist Rodolphus Agricola (1443/1444–1485) and jurist Gezina van der Molen (1892–1972). Until 1990, Baflo was a separate municipality. Baflo has a railway station.

Aduarderzijl (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌaː.dyˌɑr.dərˈzɛi̯l]; Gronings: Auwerderziel is a hamlet in the municipality of Westerkwartier in the province of Groningen in the Netherlands, located to the south of the Reitdiep. Administratively, it is part of the village of Feerwerd. The hamlet is located east of the hamlet of Allersma, northeast of the village of Ezinge, north of the village of Feerwerd, and northwest of the wierde of Antum and the village of Garnwerd. The hamlet is home to the lock complex of the same name, the Aduarderzijlen. This complex near the Reitdiep consists of restored locks from 1706 and 1867.

The Roman Catholic hermitage of Our Lady of the Enclosed Garden is situated in the former Reformed church of Warfhuizen, a village in the extreme north of the Netherlands. It is the only Dutch hermitage currently inhabited by a hermit. The name draws upon the traditional epithet for the Virgin Mary ("Our Lady") of hortus conclusus or enclosed garden, a reference to the Song of Songs that indicates the Virgin's "perpetual virginity and at the same time her fruitful maternity".The hermitage was founded in 2001 as the dwelling of a diocesan hermit. As is typical of Dutch hermitages, it includes a public chapel that has a distinct role in popular devotions, here to the Virgin Mary. It is the northernmost Marian shrine in the Netherlands.

Warfhuizen (Gronings: Waarfhoezen) is a village in province of Groningen, located in the northern part of the Netherlands. It is part of the municipality of Het Hogeland. Warfhuizen consists of two man-made mounds, called wierden, designed to escape the floodwaters of the Wadden, which flooded the whole region several times a year before dykes had been coed. The smaller mound was originally raised to protect a separate village called Burum. The village church stands on the larger mound.

Den Andel is a village in the municipality Het Hogeland which is part of the province Groningen in the Netherlands. It is located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) north of the city of Groningen near the Wadden Sea coast.

Wehe-Den Hoorn (Gronings: t Hörn-Wij) is a village in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is part of the municipality of Het Hogeland. It is a 1966 merger of the villages of Wehe and Den Hoorn.

De Dingen is a former hamlet in the Dutch province of Groningen. It was located about 1 km south of Baflo. According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, the hamlet consisted of four farms, stretching from east to west. There used to be a fortified house here, called "Dingen" or "De Dingen". The farms still exist, and are still called Dingen; but they are no longer considered to be a separate settlement on the newest topographical map of the area.

Obergum is part of the town Winsum (Groningen, Netherlands) that lies north of the Winsumerdiep. Originally it was a separate village. Winsum and Obergum have been connected since 1808 by the bridge De Boog (The Arch). The village is built around a wierde (hill) on which a 13th-century Romanesque church stands, called the St. Nicholas Chapel.
