Broek op Langedijk (West Frisian Dutch: Broek op Lengedìk) is a village in the municipality of Dijk en Waard in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands.

Langedijk (Dutch: [ˌlɑŋəˈdɛik] ; West Frisian Dutch: Langedìk) is a former municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and the region of West-Frisia. Langedijk received city rights in 1415. Langedijk and the former municipality of Heerhugowaard merged into the new municipality of Dijk en Waard on 1 January 2022.

Alkmaar Noord railway station is a suburban railway station in the town of Alkmaar, Netherlands. The station opened on 26 September 1980 and is located on the Den Helder–Amsterdam railway. The train services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen.

Stad van de Zon (City of the Sun) is a housing and building project in Heerhugowaard, The Netherlands, based on a concept developed by Bert Smolders, then urban planner with Kuiper Compagnons, and further realized by the architect and urban planner Ashok Bhalotra. The goal was and is to build homes that are directed towards the sun, and that a big part of the energy used by those homes is provided by solar power. This way, the project is to become the first carbon neutral as well as the largest photovoltaic neighbourhood worldwide.As of 2007, about 1,500 residential homes have been completed.

Oudorp (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʌuˌdɔr(ə)p]) is a neighbourhood of Alkmaar and former village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is located about 2 km (1 mi) east of the city centre. The village has been annexed by Alkmaar since 1972.

Butterhuizen (West Frisian: Butterhúze), part of the former municipality of Heerhugowaard, is a neighbourhood of Heerhugowaard and a former hamlet in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands. Since 2022 it has been part of the new municipality of Dijk en Waard.Butterhuizen lies to the south of Heerhugowaard. It has about 1,200 houses, and was built during the late 1980s and early 1990s, all the construction work being finished in late 1993. Since 1994 all the streets have been paved.

Zuid-Scharwoude (West Frisian: Sûd-Skerwou) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is located in the municipality of Dijk en Waard, about 8 km northwest of Alkmaar.

Koedijk is a village in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. It is now part of both Alkmaar and of Dijk en Waard, but before 1972, those two parts were a separate municipality that was first mentioned in the 14th century. Koedijk is most famous for its annual gondelvaart (gondola parade) on the third Saturday of August. The name Koedijk means cow dyke. The Coedijc was the dike that protected the village of Vronen from the waters of the Rekere (or Recker), a tidal stream that ran about where the Noordhollandsch Kanaal is now located. The village of Vronen was completely abandoned in 1297. The population was displaced when the village was destroyed after the battle between West Friesland and Holland, and relocated to the Coedijc. The old area of Vronen belonged to the new parish of Koedijk from then on. Koedijk is, as of 2017, the location of two of the five operational vlotbruggen ("float bridges"): Koedijkervlotbrug and Rekervlotbrug.

Heerhugowaard railway station serves the towns of Heerhugowaard and Broek op Langedijk, Netherlands. The station opened on 20 December 1865 and is located on the Den Helder–Amsterdam railway and Heerhugowaard–Hoorn railway. The train services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen. The station was known as Heerhugowaard-Broek op Langedijk between 1948 and 1976. The station has 3 platforms and a station building. The previous station buildings were used between 1862 and 1967, when it was demolished, and also a building from 1967 to 1989 and is now being used as a snackbar.

Oudkarspel is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is located in the municipality of Dijk en Waard, north of Noord-Scharwoude.

Alkmaar (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑl(ə)kmaːr] ) is a city and municipality in the Netherlands, located in the province of North Holland. Alkmaar is well known for its traditional cheese market. For tourists, it is a popular cultural destination. The municipality has a population of 111,766 as of 2023.

The Waag building is a National monument (Rijksmonument) listed building on the Waagplein in Alkmaar in the Netherlands. On this square Waagplein every Friday from April till the second week of September, the famous cheese market is held. The Dutch Cheese Museum and the tourist information Office (VVV) are also in the building. In the tower is a famous carillon weekly played by a carillonneur and also automatically by a drum chiming the quarters of the hour. There is also the famous automatic horse with knights play in the tower with an automatic trumpetplayer.
