Butterhuizen (West Frisian: Butterhúze), part of the former municipality of Heerhugowaard, is a neighbourhood of Heerhugowaard and a former hamlet in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands. Since 2022 it has been part of the new municipality of Dijk en Waard.Butterhuizen lies to the south of Heerhugowaard. It has about 1,200 houses, and was built during the late 1980s and early 1990s, all the construction work being finished in late 1993. Since 1994 all the streets have been paved.

Broek op Langedijk (West Frisian Dutch: Broek op Lengedìk) is a village in the municipality of Dijk en Waard in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands.

Heerhugowaard railway station serves the towns of Heerhugowaard and Broek op Langedijk, Netherlands. The station opened on 20 December 1865 and is located on the Den Helder–Amsterdam railway and Heerhugowaard–Hoorn railway. The train services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen. The station was known as Heerhugowaard-Broek op Langedijk between 1948 and 1976. The station has 3 platforms and a station building. The previous station buildings were used between 1862 and 1967, when it was demolished, and also a building from 1967 to 1989 and is now being used as a snackbar.

Oterleek is a village in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alkmaar, and lies about 4 km south of Heerhugowaard.

Sint Pancras (West Frisian: Sundebankreas) is a town in the northwestern Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Dijk en Waard, North Holland, about 5 km northeast of Alkmaar.

Schermer (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsxɛrmər] ) is a former municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The name came from "skir mere", which means "bright lake" (ref. Groenedijk, 2000). Since 2015 it has been a part of Alkmaar. The municipality of Schermer included not only the Schermer polder, but also the polders Oterleek, Mijzenpolder, and Eilandspolder.

Heerhugowaard (Dutch: [ˌɦeːrɦyɣoːˈʋaːrt] ; West Frisian Dutch: Heerhugoweard, Heregeweard or De Weard) is a city in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and the region of West Friesland. Heerhugowaard was previously a municipality, which merged with the former municipality of Langedijk into the new municipality of Dijk en Waard on 1 January 2022.

Dijk en Waard (West Frisian Dutch: Doik en Weard/Weerd or Dìk en Weard/Weerd) is a municipality in the province of North Holland and the region of West-Frisia, the Netherlands, formed from the merger of Heerhugowaard and Langedijk. The municipality came into existence on 1 January 2022.

North Holland (Dutch: Noord-Holland, pronounced [ˌnoːrt ˈɦɔlɑnt] ) is a province of the Netherlands in the northwestern part of the country. The King's Commissioner of North Holland is Arthur van Dijk, who has been serving since 2019. There are 45 municipalities and three (including parts of) water boards in the province. The busiest airport in the Netherlands and Europe's third-busiest airport, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, is in North Holland.

Zuid-Scharwoude (West Frisian: Sûd-Skerwou) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is located in the municipality of Dijk en Waard, about 8 km northwest of Alkmaar.

Langedijk (Dutch: [ˌlɑŋəˈdɛik] ; West Frisian Dutch: Langedìk) is a former municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and the region of West-Frisia. Langedijk received city rights in 1415. Langedijk and the former municipality of Heerhugowaard merged into the new municipality of Dijk en Waard on 1 January 2022.
