Kendall County, Texas

Sisterdale is an unincorporated farming and ranching community established in 1847 and located 13 miles (21 km) north of Boerne in Kendall County, in the U.S. state of Texas. The community is located in the valley of Sister Creek. The elevation is 1,280 feet (390 m).

The Cave Without a Name is a limestone solutional cave in the Texas Hill Country region of Central Texas. It is a National Natural Landmark.The cave is located 40 mi (64 km) from downtown San Antonio, and 10 miles northeast of Boerne off FM 474 and Kreutzberg Road. It has been commercially operated as a show cave and open for public tours since 1939. It is a member of the National Cave Association.

KBRN (1500 AM) is a radio station licensed to Boerne, Texas, United States. The station is owned by Shan and Baron Wiley, through licensee Bofars Media Group, LLC, and broadcasts a solid gold format. The station was assigned call sign KNCI on March 22, 1982. On June 15, 1984, the station changed its call sign to KYCS, and on January 1, 1985, it changed to KBRN.In 1993, KBRN was sold to Paulino Bernal Evangelism. Gerald Benavides acquired it in 2004, selling two years later to Claro Communications, which instituted a Spanish talk format. In June 2011, an FM repeater (K272EK 102.3 San Antonio) began rebroadcasting the station. In late 2014, the FM and AM went separate ways, and the Spanish talk format ended. In August 2015, KBRN re-launched with Oldies music. On March 1, 2017, KBRN went silent. On July 28, 2017, the FCC granted approval to modify a construction permit to move an FM translator to a new location in Boerne on 103.9 MHz to relay KBRN. On July 31, 2018, the FCC deemed that the station had been off the air for more than a year and cancelled its license as a result. On February 1, 2019, the FCC granted the station special temporary authority to continue operating. On May 22, 2019, the FCC granted approval for KBRN's license to be assigned by Claro Communications to Bonnie Chambers. The assignment was consummated on June 18, 2019, at a purchase price of $100,000. KBRN is also now broadcasting on 103.9 FM with a translator. Effective February 15, 2022, Chambers sold KBRN and its translator K280GR to Bofars Media Group, LLC for $236,700.

The high school used to be the only high school in Boerne which now has a second high school, Boerne Samuel V. Champion High School. The "original" Boerne High School currently serves as Boerne Middle School North.

Boerne ( BURN-ee) is a city in and the county seat of Kendall County, Texas, United States, in the Texas Hill Country. Boerne is known for its German-Texan history, named in honor of German author and satirist Ludwig Börne by the German Founders of the town. The population of Boerne was 10,471 at the 2010 census, and in 2019 the estimated population was 18,232. The city is noted for the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case City of Boerne v. Flores. Founded in 1849 as "Tusculum", the name was changed to "Boerne" when the town was platted in 1852. Boerne is part of the San Antonio–New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area.

The limestone Kendall County Courthouse and Jail are located in the San Antonio suburb of Boerne in the U.S. state of Texas. They were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and the courthouse as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1970.The courthouse was built as one storey in 1870 on land donated by local surveyor John James, and the limestone blocks came from local quarries. Philip Zoeller and S. F. Stendeback were the designers. In 1886, a second storey was added by Charles Buckel. Alfred Giles was contracted to add the 1909 front facade. The courthouse was in service until 1998, when Kendall County built a new courthouse across the street.The 1887 limestone jail was designed and built by Pauly Jail Building and Manufacturing Company.

Boerne Independent School District is a public school district based in Boerne, Texas (USA). Located in Kendall County, portions of the district extend into Bexar and Comal counties. In addition to Boerne, the communities of Fair Oaks Ranch and Scenic Oaks also lie within the district.

The Kendall Inn is a historic hotel located in Boerne, Texas, United States, that originally opened in 1859. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 29, 1976. The two-story vernacular Greek Revival structure is one of the few remaining 19th century resort hotels in Texas. Erastus and Sarah Reed constructed the limestone block hotel. The Reeds came to Boerne from Georgia, where they had operated and managed hotels. The Inn was known as the "Reed House" and offered four rooms for travelers. In 1869, Col. Henry C. King purchased the inn from the Reeds and renamed the hotel "King Place". In 1878, J. C. Rountree and W. L. Wadsworth purchased the inn from King and added two wings on to the building. The name of the inn was changed to the "Boerne Hotel". In 1884, the inn was purchased by James T. Clarke. Dr. J. H. Barnitz of San Antonio acquired the inn in 1909 and renamed the hotel "Ye Kendall Inn", Barnitz had electrical wiring installed and added community bathrooms. In 1922, the inn was purchased by Robert L. and Maude Hickman. Mrs. W. F. Grinnan bought the Kendall Inn in 1960. Notable people that have lodged at the inn include Jefferson Davis, President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Robert E. Lee.The hotel is currently called The Kendall and has 34 rooms each with modern and Texas Hill Country design. The entire Hotel was updated and renovated in late 2018 and early 2019. It was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1983, Marker number 5925.

Boerne-Samuel V. Champion High School (CHS) is a 5A senior high school in Boerne, Texas. One of two high schools in Boerne, it is a part of the Boerne Independent School District.The school opened in 2008 after splitting from Boerne High School and has about 2,000 students in 4 grades. It serves students from Boerne Middle School South and Mark T. Voss Middle School.

Herff–Rozelle Farm is located in Boerne, in the county of Kendall, in the U.S. state of Texas. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places listings in Kendall County on December 3, 2009. It was built by Ferdinand Ludwig Herff in 1855. The property was sold to George and Erma Rozelle in 1935. It is managed by the Cibolo Nature Center.
