Bronkhorst

Bronkhorstermolen is a tower mill in Steenderen, Gelderland, Netherlands which was built in 1844 and has been restored to working order. The mill is listed as a Rijksmonument.

Steenderen is a former municipality and a village in the eastern Netherlands. It has been part of the new municipality of Bronckhorst since 2005.

Brummen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbrʏmə(n)] ) is a municipality and a village in the eastern Netherlands. Brummen has a small railway station - Brummen railway station on the line between Zutphen and Arnhem. The village is situated about 7 km (4.3 mi) southwest of Zutphen, no farther than 1.5 km from the IJssel river. About two kilometers west of the village, on the edge of the Veluwe forest area, lies the Engelenburg resort, a castle-like house. It is in use as a hotel for golf players and has a 9-hole golf-link.

Brummen is a railway station located in Brummen, Netherlands. The station was opened on 2 February 1865 and is located on the Arnhem–Leeuwarden railway. The station is currently operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen. The station closed on 15 May 1938 and 27 September 1944. The station re-opened on 19 October 1940 and 18 May 1952.

Baak is a village in the municipality Bronckhorst in the Achterhoek part of the Dutch province of Gelderland. It stands on the Baakse Beek (literally, Brook of Baak) in the municipality of Bronckhorst, about 10 km from Zutphen. Baak was founded around 1190 as a hamlet (Dutch: buurtschap). The village has a quite large (for its number of inhabitants) neo-gothic church, designed by Alfred Tepe. Behind the church its 18th-century predecessor can be found, a so-called barn church which nowadays serves as a cultural centre. In the south of the village, on the premises of a farm, stands the ruined tower of an otherwise vanished Gothic chapel from the 15th century. Within the village limits one can also find the manor Huize Baak, one of the many manors in this part of the Achterhoek. It houses the Christian organization Ellel Ministries Nederland. The manor and surrounding park can be visited by appointment. The manor can also be seen from the public road; a walking path goes all around the premises.

Rha is a hamlet in the municipality of Bronckhorst, Gelderland, the Netherlands. Its population is about 75 and Rha and nearby Olburgen celebrated their 1000-year existence in 1996. Windmill De Hoop is located in Rha as well as the Bronckhorster Brewing Company.

The Berkel (German pronunciation: [ˈbɛʁkl̩] ) is a river in the Netherlands and Germany. It is a right tributary of the IJssel. The river rises in Billerbeck, near the German city of Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia, and crosses the border with the Netherlands near Vreden (Germany) and Rekken (Netherlands). From there, it flows through the province of Gelderland to join the IJssel at Zutphen after about 115 kilometres. Before the coming of the railway, the Berkel was a major shipping route for goods from Münster to Eibergen, Borculo, and Zutphen, transported in flat-bottomed boats called Berkelzompen. In the 1950s, the Dutch stretch of the river was channelized to prevent flooding and to improve drainage. Recently old bends have been reconnected to the straightened lengths of the river. Zutphen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzʏtfə(n)] ) is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It lies some 30 km northeast of Arnhem, on the eastern bank of the river IJssel at the point where it is joined by the Berkel. First mentioned in the 11th century, the place-name appears to mean "south fen" (zuid-veen in modern Dutch). In 2005, the municipality of Zutphen was merged with the municipality of Warnsveld, retaining its name. In 2021, the municipality had a population of 48,111.

The siege of Zutphen was an eleven-day siege of the city of Zutphen by Dutch and English troops led by Maurice of Nassau, during the Eighty Years' War and the Anglo–Spanish War. The siege began on 19 May 1591 after a clever ruse by the besiegers. The city was then besieged for eleven days, after which the Spanish garrison surrendered.

Zutphen is a railway station located in Zutphen, Netherlands. The station was opened on 2 February 1865, rebuilt after the Second World War and is located on the Arnhem–Leeuwarden railway, Zutphen–Glanerbeek railway, Amsterdam–Zutphen railway and the Zutphen–Winterswijk railway. The services are operated by Nederlandse Spoorwegen, Syntus and Arriva. The station is an important regional hub, with three local lines and one express line meeting in Zutphen.

Baudartius College is a Dutch Protestant secondary school in Zutphen, named after the theologian Willem Baudartius. It will be phased out from year 2019–2020, and all new students will go to a new school called "Het Eligant"
