Geersdijk is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Noord-Beveland, and lies about 13 km northeast of Middelburg. The village was first mentioned in 1216 as Gerolsdike, and means "dike of Gerolf (person)". The original Geersdijk became an independent parish in 1216. The medieval village was lost in a flood in 1530 and disappeared completely in 1532. The current Geersdijk developed in 1668 after the Geersdijksepolder was enclosed by a dike.Geersdijk lost its harbour in 1771 when the Willempolder was diked. In 1808, a new harbour with a canal to the Veerse Gat was constructed. Geersdijk was home to 201 people in 1840.Geersdijk was flooded during the North Sea flood of 1953 and many houses were damaged beyond repair. The Drenthehuis was a gift of the province of Drenthe after the floods. It was completed in 1960 and is used a village house.

Noord-Beveland (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈnoːrd ˌbeːvəlɑnt] (listen); "North Beveland") is a municipality and region in the southwestern Netherlands and a former island, now part of the Walcheren-Zuid-Beveland-Noord-Beveland peninsula. Noord-Beveland is enclosed by the Oosterschelde estuary to the north, and the former straits, now combined lake, of Veerse Meer and Zandkreek to the south. As part of the Delta Works, dams have connected Noord-Beveland to Walcheren and Zuid-Beveland.

In the summer, its beaches make it a popular destination for tourists, especially German tourists. In some areas, the population can be two to four times higher during the high summer season. The coat of arms of Zeeland shows a lion half-emerged from water, and the text luctor et emergo (Latin for "I struggle and emerge"). The country of New Zealand was named after Zeeland after it was sighted by Dutch explorer Abel Tasman.

Kortgene is a small city in the southwest Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Noord-Beveland, Zeeland, about 15 km northeast of Middelburg. It received city rights in 1431, but was flooded in 1530 and 1532. The new settlement received city rights in 1684.

Restaurant 't Veerhuis is a defunct restaurant in Wolphaartsdijk, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 1975 and retained that rating until 1988. It was again awarded one Michelin star 2008 and 2009.In the first star period, owner and head chef was Fred van Mierlo.In the second star period, the restaurant was run by Marianne and Co. Simmers. They decided to move the restaurant to Goes. That went wrong and the restaurant, renamed "Simmers & Co", closed down after a year in business.Former head chefs were Edwin Dingemanse (2009-2010) and Michel Louws (2005-2009).In 2011, the former building of 't Veerhuis became once more a Michelin starred restaurant. Restaurant Katseveer had to move due to a major renovation of its own building. From April to August it operated out of Wolphaartsdijk, then it moved back to Wilhelminadorp.

Stroodorp is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Noord-Beveland, and lies about 11 km northeast of Middelburg.Stroodorp is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Kamperland. The hamlet consists of about 35 houses, but most are holiday homes, and only 6 are permanently inhabited.The hamlet was first mentioned in 1847 as Strooijedorp (Het), and means "straw village" after the straw covering of the temporary houses of the people who poldered the land.
