West Thames College is a medium-sized college of further and higher education in West London, England. It was formed in 1976, originally named Hounslow Borough College, having gained its current name in 1993. The college has two campuses in the London Borough of Hounslow: a main campus in Isleworth and a smaller Skills Centre in Feltham. As of 2014 there were over 5,200 enrolled students at the college. The college offers a wide range of A Levels and specialist vocational courses up to higher education level: BTECs, NVQs, City & Guilds, Foundation Degrees and HNDs.

Spring Grove is the north-western district of the town of Isleworth within the Borough of Hounslow in London, England. In general terms it lies east of the district of Lampton; north of the district of Woodlands; west of the Barnes-to-Feltham railway loop line; and south of the district of Osterley. Spring water that rose in the area in the eighteenth century was employed for agricultural and horticultural purposes. The prime purpose of Spring Grove in recent centuries appears to have been the gradual provision of residential areas for middle-class communities. Georgian residences appeared first, with large plots of land. With the railway service (Isleworth railway station was formerly called 'Spring Grove & Isleworth') came substantial Victorian property development. During the twentieth century further residential development occurred, and with the turn of the twenty-first century, some of the large villas gave way to modern development of various forms. The district has over the course of a century or so also embraced a number of large educational establishments, including Brunel University London and West Thames College.

Isleworth railway station is in the London Borough of Hounslow, in west London, and is in Travelcard Zone 4. It is 19 km (12 mi) west-southwest of London Waterloo. The unmanned station and all trains serving it are operated by South Western Railway.

Isleworth & Syon School (formerly Isleworth Grammar School) is a non-denomination secondary school and sixth form for boys aged 11 to 18 years old. Girls are admitted to the school's sixth form, which is part of a consortium with other secondary schools in the borough. The school is situated on Ridgeway Road, Isleworth, within the London Borough of Hounslow, England. It is close to the A4, just south of Osterley Park. It has many travel links including Isleworth railway station, Osterley tube station and London Buses

The London International College in London was an early attempt at international education, operating from 1867 to 1889. It enrolled secondary-school students from a number of countries in a programme aimed at fostering internationalist sentiments in its pupils. Its official name was the London College of the International Education Society, and it was also known as the Spring Grove School, from its location in the Spring Grove area of Isleworth, London.

Woodlands is a small area located in the borough of Hounslow, London between Hounslow and Isleworth. It is an area roughly bounded by the Hounslow Loop railway line and the London Road to the north; the Duke of Northumberland's River and Twickenham Road to the east; and Bridge Road / Worton Road to the south and south-west. It includes roads such as Woodlands Road, Woodland Gardens, Woodlands Grove as well as The Woodlands Tavern public house and St John the Baptist's Church on St John's Road.The estate comprises mostly semi-detached houses built in the 1930s, although there are older buildings too. Before these houses were built the area was used as orchards, hence the name 'Woodlands'. There is an organisation known as the WERFA (Woodlands Estate Resident Freeholders Association) which has a community hall in the small private park in the centre of Woodland Gardens.

St Mary's Church, Osterley is a Church of England church on Osterley Road in Osterley, London Borough of Hounslow. Designed by John Taylor the Younger in a Neo-Gothic imitation of the Decorated style it was funded by Henry Daniel Davies, who built the Spring Grove estate of which it formed a part. In 1855 it was said that when the church was opened it would be "placed at the disposal of an able and evangelical minister" and has remained in that churchmanship ever since. The church opened in 1856 and was assigned a parish taken from the ancient parish of Isleworth later the same year. Young built it in brick with stone facings and with two tiers of windows ready for the addition of galleries, though these were never needed. The church includes stained-glass windows designed by Alfred Hassam (1842–1869). In 1875 the parish's living was valued at £459. Davies remained patron of the parish for several years, but eventually its advowson passed to the Church Patronage Society around 1897 Notable events include the 1899 marriage of Sofia Dalgairns, future head of the Metropolitan Police's first Women Patrols. The living was valued at £859 net in 1955–1956. In 1959 a new vicar began a Sunday parish communion service at 9:30 whilst continuing matins at 11, at which time the parish's electoral roll totalled 506. It now forms part of the parish of St Mary's with St Luke's, the latter having opened on Kingsley Road as a Sunday school before 1895 before becoming a mission church (a church of lesser status than a parish church) of St Mary's parish.

Campion House was a Roman catholic college run by the Society of Jesus in the Archdiocese of Westminster. It was situated in Osterley on the Thornbury Road, off the A4 road, in the London Borough of Hounslow.

Hounslow power station generated and supplied electricity to the district of Hounslow, Heston and Isleworth in west London from 1904 to 1964. Originally steam powered, diesel engine generators were added in the 1950s.The station was owned and operated by Heston and Isleworth Borough Council until the nationalisation of the electricity industry in 1948. The power station was redeveloped as demand for electricity grew and old plant was replaced until its closure in 1964.

Isleworth ( (listen) EYE-zəl-wərth) is a town located within the London Borough of Hounslow in West London, England. It lies immediately east of the town of Hounslow and west of the River Thames and its tributary the River Crane. Isleworth's original area of settlement, alongside the Thames, is known as 'Old Isleworth'. The north-west corner of the town, bordering on Osterley to the north and Lampton to the west, is known as 'Spring Grove'. Isleworth's former Thames frontage of approximately one mile, excluding that of the Syon Park estate, was reduced to little over half a mile in 1994 when a borough boundary realignment was effected in order to unite the district of St Margaret's wholly within London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. As a result, most of Isleworth's riverside is that part overlooking the 8.6-acre (3.5 ha) islet of Isleworth Ait: the short-length River Crane flows into the Thames south of the Isleworth Ait, and its artificial distributary the Duke of Northumberland's River west of the Isleworth Ait, one of two Colne distributaries constructed for aesthetic reasons in the 1600–1750 period.

Heston and Isleworth was a local government district of Middlesex, England from 1894 to 1965.
