The Henri Poincaré University, or Nancy 1, nicknamed UHP, was a public research university located in Nancy, France. UHP was merged into University of Lorraine in 2012, and was previously a member of the Nancy-Université federation, belonging to the French Nancy-Metz academy.

The canton of Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy is an administrative division of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department, northeastern France. Mines Nancy (École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Nancy in French or Nancy School of Mines in English; also referred to as ENSMN, École des Mines de Nancy or Mines Nancy) is one of the leading French engineering Grandes Écoles. It is located in the campus Artem, in the city of Nancy, Eastern France (only 1h30 from Paris by TGV), and is part of the University of Lorraine. Around 400 students are taught general science and management and 300 follow specialised Master programs. These students are taught by 60 permanent professors. There are also 400 researchers including a hundred PhD students. Despite its small size, it is well represented in the French industry. Most of its alumni hold executive positions in the industry and large corporations or scientific research positions in France or abroad. It was created in 1919 on the request of the University of Nancy in order to contribute to the reconstruction of the mining and steel industry in the east of France after World War I. At the end of the 1950s, under the impulse of its then-director Bertrand Schwartz (younger brother of Laurent Schwartz), the school reorganized its curriculum to include a balanced blend of engineering, management and social sciences. At the time, it was an innovative educational model for engineers, that was later extended to other Grandes Ecoles.

Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy (French pronunciation: [vɑ̃dœvʁ lɛ nɑ̃si], literally Vandœuvre near Nancy) is a commune in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in north-eastern France. Its inhabitants are called Vandopériens.

The TELECOM Nancy (formerly École supérieure d'informatique et applications de Lorraine or ÉSIAL) is a grande école of engineering created in 1990. It is associated with the University of Lorraine. TELECOM Nancy is a school associated with the Institut Mines-Télécom. It is the only school of generalised engineering studies in IT and digital sciences and technologies accredited by the Commission des Titres de l’Ingénieur (CTI - Engineer Qualification Committee) in the Greater East of France. It was created in 1990 and is based in Nancy, France. The standard curriculum is a three-year program (after two years of preparation) resulting in the French Diplôme d'Ingénieur, which is equivalent to a Master's degree of the European Higher Education Area.

Villers-lès-Nancy (French pronunciation: [vilɛʁ lɛ nɑ̃si], literally Villers near Nancy) is a commune in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in north-eastern France. Inhabitants are known as Villarois.

The Musée de l'École de Nancy is a museum devoted to the École de Nancy, an Art Nouveau movement founded in 1901 by Émile Gallé, Victor Prouvé, Louis Majorelle, Antonin Daum and Eugène Vallin in the city of Nancy in Lorraine, north-eastern France. They were joined by other artists, notably Jacques Grüber. The museum, opened in 1964, is set in the former house of a patron of the École de Nancy, Eugène Corbin. The architect was Lucien Weissenburger. It has a garden, an aquarium pavilion, and the main building contains works by all the major Art Nouveau artists of Nancy, which was one of the major centers of the movement in Europe.

The Jardin botanique du Montet (27 hectares), sometimes also called the Jardin botanique de Nancy, is a major botanical garden operated by the Conservatoire et Jardins Botaniques de Nancy. It is located at 100, rue du Jardin Botanique, Villers-lès-Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France, and open daily; free entrance but an admission fee is charged to visit the greenhouses. The garden was inaugurated in 1975 as successor to the city's earliest botanical garden, the Jardin Dominique Alexandre Godron (founded 1758), whose plants were transferred to the new garden in 1993. Today the garden contains more than 12,000 types of plants, organized into 15 collections by themes, including sections devoted to the plants of Lorraine, an arboretum, alpine garden, medicinal plants, rhododendrons, rose garden, and so forth, over 35 hectares (i.e. circa 86 acres). Its greenhouses (2500 m²) contain humid and arid rooms sheltering a variety of plants including rare species such as Miconia ascendens and Rubus alceaefolius.

The canton of Nancy-Sud (French: Canton de Nancy-Sud) is a former French canton located in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle in the Lorraine region (now part of Grand Est). Created in 1879 from the canton of Nancy-Est, it was modified in 1973 to form the canton of Saint-Max and in 1997 during the creation of the canton of Malzéville. The last general councillor from this canton was Nicole Creusot (PS), elected in 2004.

The Villa Majorelle is a house located at 1 rue Louis-Majorielle in the city of Nancy, France, which was the home and studio of the furniture designer Louis Majorelle. It was designed and built by the architect Henri Sauvage in 1901-1902. The villa is one of the first and most influential examples of the Art Nouveau architectural style in France. It served as a showcase for Majorelle's furniture and the work of other noted decorative artists of the period, including ceramist Alexandre Bigot and stained glass artist Jacques Gruber. It is now owned by the city of Nancy, and is open to the public certain days for tours by reservation.
