Jacuí River

Usina do Gasômetro (Portuguese for Gasholder Plant) is a former electrical power station located in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. Despite the name, it was a coal-powered plant, the name gasômetro being a reference to the plant location, in an area known as Volta do Gasômetro, which in turn had taken its name from a nearby factory: the Usina de Gás. The thermal power station was inaugurated on November 11, 1928, to function as the headquarters of Companhia Brasil de Força Elétrica, a subsidiary of Electric, Bond & Share Co., an American company that was in charge of the electricity and electric transportation service in Porto Alegre until 1954. It functioned as a power generator until 1974, the year it was deactivated. The municipal government's intention was to demolish it and use the area as an extension of Perimetral avenue. The building was saved from demolition after a preservation effort by civil entities. In 1982, Eletrobras transferred the use of the land to the municipality of Porto Alegre. Usina do Gasômetro was listed by the municipality in 1982 and by the state in 1983. After being restored by the municipality in 1988, the plant reopened as a cultural center in 1991.

The Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows (Portuguese: Basílica Menor de Nossa Senhora das Dores) is the oldest standing Catholic temple in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Its construction lasted a considerable time and the design of the facade, which was modified even before it was inaugurated, today features an eclectic style. However, the interior is richly decorated with gilded woodwork in a late Baroque style with neoclassical elements and has an important group of life-size Baroque statues of Christ representing the cycle of the Passion.The seat of ancient religious traditions and of great historical and artistic significance, it has been classified as a national heritage site by IPHAN. In 2022, the church was given the title of Minor Basilica by Pope Francis.

Andradas Street (Portuguese: Rua dos Andradas) is located in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The stretch from Gasômetro to General Câmara was called Rua da Praia, and the stretch between General Câmara and Senhor dos Passos was called Rua da Graça.

The Rio Grande do Sul Museum of Art (in Portuguese: Museu de Arte do Rio Grande do Sul Ado Malagoli - MARGS) is an art museum in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. It is located in the centre of Porto Alegre. Its eclectic building, national heritage, is one of the most noteworthy historic buildings in Porto Alegre. Its design is usually attributed to Theodor Wiederspahn, a German-Brazilian architect, although important local historian and artist Fernando Corona ascribes it to Germano Gundlach.

The Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul (Portuguese: Assembleia Legislativa do Rio Grande do Sul) is the unicameral legislature of Rio Grande do Sul state in Brazil. It has 55 state deputies elected by proportional representation. The first legislature was on April 20, 1835, in the first day of the assembly, the deputy Bento Gonçalves is accused by the president of the province of articulating the separation of the Rio Grande, this marked the beginning of the Ragamuffin War. From September 20, 1835, to June 15, 1836, only the Farrapos attends in the assembly, the revolution also suspends the elections in 1837, the assembly is closed until the second legislature, that begins on March 1, 1846.

The Mauá Pier (Portuguese: Cais Mauá) is a section of the river port located in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is situated on the Navegantes Canal, upstream of Lake Guaíba, and is part of the Jacuí Delta.

The Piratini Palace (Portuguese: Palácio Piratini) is the current seat of the Executive Branch of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is located at Marechal Deodoro Square, also known as the Mother Church Square, in Porto Alegre's historic center. The Piratini Palace has been the official residence of thirty-eight governors.

Alfândega Square (Portuguese: Praça da Alfâdenga) is a public, historic, and tourist attraction in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Located in the Historic Center of the city, the square is protected by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) and the Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (IPHAE). It is surrounded by important buildings, some of them equally historic and old, such as the Ado Malagoli Museum of Art of Rio Grande do Sul (MARGS), the Memorial of Rio Grande do Sul, Santander Cultural, and the Commerce Club of Porto Alegre. Other buildings include the Banrisul and Caixa Econômica Federal headquarters and Rua da Praia Shopping Mall.Traditionally, since 1855, the Porto Alegre Book Fair has been held at Alfândega Square, attracting thousands of visitors not only for the vast selection of books on offer, but also for the music, theater, and dance performances.

Clube do Comércio (English: Commerce Club) is based in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Founded in 1896, it is one of the city's most traditional clubs. The headquarters, located on Andradas Street, was listed as a landmark site by the Porto Alegre City Hall in 1996.

The São Pedro Theatre (Theatro São Pedro in Portuguese) is the oldest theatre in the city of Porto Alegre, the state capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Praça Marechal Deodoro, better known as Praça da Matriz (in English: "Matriz Square"), is a historic square in the city of Porto Alegre, the capital of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. It is located in the heart of the city, in the Historic Center, and has existed since the early days of the capital. It is listed by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage.
