Kinsbourne Green

Harpenden Rural is a civil parish in the City and District of St Albans in Hertfordshire, England, to the west of Harpenden parish. The local council is Harpenden Rural Parish Council. It was created on 15 April 1898 when the former Harpenden parish was split into two parts: Harpenden Urban parish covering the Harpenden Urban District (which was created on the same day), and Harpenden Rural parish which remained in the St Albans Rural District.The parish includes Kinsbourne Green, and Rothamsted Manor, including the Rothamsted Experimental Station.

Roundwood Park School is a non-selective state secondary school with academy status situated in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, UK. Opened in 1956, it currently has around 1300 pupils, most of whom live in the local area and surrounding villages (e.g. Markyate, Southdown, Whitwell, Kimpton, Flamstead, Redbourn, Breachwood Green and Wheathampstead.) At the beginning of 2011, Roundwood (along with Sir John Lawes School, the University of Hertfordshire, and Rothamsted Research) formed a charitable trust. St George's School joined the trust in 2013 and it is now known as "The Harpenden Secondary Schools Trust".

Roundwood Halt railway station co-served the town of Harpenden, Hertfordshire, England from 1927 to 1949 on the Nickey Line.

Luton Hoo railway station was built by the Hertford, Luton & Dunstable Railway on the branch line between Hatfield and Dunstable. It opened in 1860 and was originally called New Mill End. In 1861 the railway was taken over by the Great Northern Railway. The name changed to Luton Hoo in 1891 and the station closed in 1965. The last passenger train, packed with enthusiasts, was hauled by Brush Type 2 (later Class 31) D5589 on 24 April 1965. It served Luton Hoo house and the village of New Mill End. It was close to the Midland Railway station of Chiltern Green and the GNR line took a parallel course to the Midland north to Luton Bute Street. The station building and platform still exist, sited next to a sewage works.

Luton Hoo is an English country house and estate near Luton in Bedfordshire and Harpenden in Hertfordshire. Most of the estate lies within the civil parish of Hyde, Bedfordshire. The Saxon word Hoo means the spur of a hill, and is more commonly associated with East Anglia.

The King's School, Harpenden is a co-educational independent school for pupils aged four to sixteen, located to the north of Harpenden in Hertfordshire, England. The independent evangelical Christian day school's mission statement is ‘Young people devoted to Christ, equipped for life and prepared to reach the world’, although it is not affiliated to one particular church or denomination.The school's intake is mostly from the counties Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. The charity, Kingdom Education Limited operates The King's School, Harpenden and Highfield Preschool. It is affiliated to the Christian Schools Trust.The King's School joined the Independent Schools Association in October 2017 and was inspected in September 2019 by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

Hyde (also known as The Hyde) is a civil parish in the county of Bedfordshire. It lies just south-east of Luton. Most of the land to the west of the River Lea is occupied by the Luton Hoo estate, which includes West Hyde. To the east of the river, the parish contains the ruins of Someries Castle and the hamlets of Chiltern Green, East Hyde and New Mill End. Hyde was served by two railway stations, Luton Hoo and Chiltern Green, but these have since closed.

Chiltern Green railway station was built by the Midland Railway in 1868 on its extension to St. Pancras. The station was located in New Mill End but took its name from the small hamlet of Chiltern Green about a mile away. Adjacent to it was the GNR station of Luton Hoo also located in New Mill End. The small hamlet of New Mill End is unique in having two railway stations (Chiltern Green and Luton Hoo) neither of which, after 1 December 1891, were named after the village they served. The two lines ran side by side at this point: the Midland into Luton Midland Road and the GNR from Hatfield into Luton Bute Street.The station closed in 1952 due to competition from Luton Hoo station, only 600 yards (500 m) away. Ironically, the branch line between Welwyn Garden City and Leighton Buzzard, which Luton Hoo was on, closed in 1965, meaning that New Mill End was no longer served by a local railway station. The station buildings survive to this day as a private home. The platform on the station building side partly survives but is overgrown and difficult to see when passing in a train. The other platform was removed when the line was electrified.

East Hyde is a village in the civil parish of Hyde, in the Central Bedfordshire district, in the ceremonial county of Bedfordshire, England. East Hyde lies on the border with Hertfordshire.

New Mill End is a hamlet located in Bedfordshire, England, close to county border with Hertfordshire. It is in the civil parish of Hyde, Bedfordshire New Mill End was the location of Chiltern Green railway station which opened in 1868. The station closed in 1952. However, the station buildings survive to this day as a private home.

Redbourn is a village and civil parish in Hertfordshire, England, lying on Watling Street, three miles (4.8 km) from Harpenden, four miles (6.4 km) from St Albans and five miles (8.0 km) from Hemel Hempstead. The civil parish had a population of 5,113 according to the 2011 Census. The three tiers of local government are Redbourn Parish Council, St Albans City & District Council, and Hertfordshire County Council.

Rothamsted Manor is a former manor and current manor house, situated in Harpenden Rural in the English county of Hertfordshire. A Grade I listed building, dating in part from the 17th century, it is now an events venue, while the surrounding estate is home to the Rothamsted Research Centre.
