Lade, Trondheim

Lade Manor (Norwegian: Lade gård or Lade Gaard) is the manor house of one of the historic farms of Norway. It is located in the community of Lade outside the city of Trondheim.

Ladeanlegget is an outdoor sports complex in Trondheim consisting of several football pitches. Ladeanlegget is owned by Freidig SK but is located in the neighborhood of Lade and is the home field of Sportsklubben Trygg/Lade, while Freidig SK is based in the neighborhood of Eberg.

Lade Church (Norwegian: Lade Kirke) is one of Norway's oldest existing stone churches. It is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Trondheim municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the Lade neighborhood in the city of Trondheim, just southeast of Korsvika and east of Ladehammeren. It is the church for the Lade parish which is part of the Nidaros domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, plastered stone church was built in a long church style around the year 1160. The church seats about 160 people.

Lilleby smelteverk was a smeltmill located in Lilleby, Trondheim, Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway, next to City Lade. It is well known for having produced the world's cleanest ferrosilicon (an alloy that contains iron and silicon) for NASA.

Lade Airport (Norwegian: Lade flyplass, German: Lade flugplatz) was an air station and later civilian airport located at Lade in Trondheim, Norway which was in use from 1940 to 1965. It had a 1,140-meter (3,740 ft) concrete runway. The facility was built by the Luftwaffe during World War II to provide air defense for Trondheim and as a temporary airport until Værnes Air Station was completed. After the end of the war in 1945 the airport was taken over by civilian authorities. Trøndelag Flyveselskap operated from Lade from 1946 to 1950. The airline folded and was replaced by Trønderfly, which lasted for one year. Widerøe then started operating at the airport and continued to do so until its closing, although they never operated scheduled services out of the airport. Aviation clubs at the airport were Trondheim Flyklubb and NTH Flyklubb. At first Trondheim was mostly served by water aerodromes and from 1952 Trondheim Airport, Værnes became Trondheim's main airport. Braathens SAFE operated scheduled flights to Oslo from 1952 to 1956, when they moved to Værnes. Lade Airport remained in use until 1965, when it was abandoned to allow for the area to be redeveloped for industry, shopping, and a sports venue.

Lade School (Lade Skole) is a primary school located on Ladehammerveien in Trondheim, Norway. It is located in the neighborhood of Lade, site of the historic Lade gård. The school opened in 1954. In 2004, the school celebrated its 50 years anniversary. The school has about 500 students from the age 6–16. The main building dates from 1954 with three pavilions that are approved as temporary school buildings. The school was refurbished in the 1980s. Lade School has its own swimming pool and music room. Lade also has a school band which performs on May 17th to celebrate Norwegian Constitution Day.

Kjerringberget is a hill located in the Lade area in the municipality of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. The small mountain is about 45 metres (148 ft) above sea level. The Ladestien trail, which goes from Ladehammeren to Rotvoll, crosses Kjerringberget. The top of Kjerringberget provides a view over western Trondheim, Munkholmen, Trondheimsfjord, and Fosen. Kjerringberget partly consists of green rocks formed when subterranean magma solidified after flowing out and coming into contact with water, forming pillow lavas. These lavas were later cross-cut by intrusions of trondhjemite. Bymarka west of Trondheim also has similar geological structures, both forming part of the early Ordovician Bymarka ophiolite.Kjerringberget also has some connections to World War II. Stone from Kjerringberget was used to build a mole in Korsvika. The mole was never finished because the war ended prior to its completion.

Geological Survey of Norway (Norwegian: Norges geologiske undersøkelse), abbreviation: NGU, is a Norwegian government agency responsible for geologic mapping and research. The agency is located in Trondheim with an office in Tromsø, with about 200 employees. It is subordinate to the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries.

Queen Maud University College or QMUC (Norwegian: Dronning Mauds Minne Høgskole or DMMH) is a private college for preschool teachers located in Trondheim, Norway. The college has about 1,200 students and 140 employees. It educates 17% of all preschool teachers in Norway. The college is organised as a foundation within the Church of Norway and the school is the only college in Norway solely dedicated to the education of preschool teachers. The school is located in an old majestic building from 1912 at Leangen, though the college itself dates back to 1947.

Korsvika is a small residential area in the Lade area in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county, Norway. Korsvika is located in the Østbyen borough. It has several small beaches and the Ladestien trail runs through the area. Korsvika is also the site of "Korsvika barnehage", a local kindergarten.

Ringve Museum is Norway's national museum for music and musical instruments, with collections from all over the world.

Ladestien (English: the Lade Trail) is a broad walking track that strolls along the Trondheimsfjord around the entire Lade Peninsula in the municipality of Trondheim in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The track is about 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) long. The western part of the track starts at Korsvika, about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) east of the center of Trondheim, and follows the fjord east to Charlottenlund. The western part climbs small hilltops, often with a beautiful view of the Trondheimsfjord. The eastern part is almost flat. There is lush vegetation along the track, with birch, pine, spruce, Rowan, alder, and hazel, the latter being very common in the western part of the track. In addition, sycamore maple, although not a part of the original flora, is rapidly spreading and is now among the most common trees. Further east, Statoils large research center at Rotvoll is easily spotted as the track continues east. Also at Rotvoll is the Leangen Manor (Norwegian: Leangen Gård), including an English-inspired garden, with small water ponds and large deciduous trees (ash, elm, maple, oak). The manor is owned by Trondheim municipality and used for representational purposes. There are several beaches (mainly rocky or with pebbles) along Ladestien, some of the most popular are Ringvebukta (not far from Ringve Museum and botanical garden) and Djupvika; the latter includes a large lawn and volleyball net. Swimming in the fjord is indeed refreshing, although a water temperature of 18 °C (64 °F) is fairly common during warm spells, and in warm summers water temperatures might reach 21 °C (70 °F). In nice summer weather, a walk along the lush Ladestien with the calm waves from the fjord rolling gently against rocks and beaches might give associations to places much further south.
