Villa Domínico is a city in the Avellaneda Partido. Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It belongs to the Greater Buenos Aires urban agglomeration.

Estadio Julio Humberto Grondona, nicknamed El Viaducto, is a football stadium located in the city of Sarandí in Avellaneda Partido, Argentina. It is owned and operated by Arsenal Fútbol Club. and has a capacity of 18,500 spectators.The stadium is named after Julio Grondona, co-founder, first president (1957−1976), and player of Arsenal F.C. and then president of the Argentine Football Association from 1979 to his death in 2014.

Luca George Prodan (17 May 1953 – 22 December 1987) was an Italian and Scottish musician and singer who rose to prominence as the leading vocalist of Argentine-based alternative rock band Sumo, considered one of the most influential bands in Spanish-language rock history, and is widely considered one of the country's most important artists. Born in Rome to an affluent family in the art industry, Prodan was sent at nine years old to the United Kingdom for school at Gordonstoun. During his studies, Prodan learned to play the guitar and became heavily influenced by the recent progressive and psychedelic rock music that have emerged during the decade. At seventeen years old and one year away from graduating, Prodan abandoned his studies and returned to Italy. Prodan eventually returned to the United Kingdom for work, settling across Brighton, Manchester, and London; he soon became addicted to heroin. After moving to the outskirts of Argentina in 1980 to recover from his heroin addiction, he met Germán Daffunchio, who is the brother-in-law of Prodan's friend from Gordonstoun, Timmy McKern, and Alejandro Sokol, and formed the band Sumo. For much of the decade until Prodan's death, the band would become one of the most influential groups in shaping Argentine rock of its time. Prodan, along with the rest of Sumo, are credited for introducing British post-punk to not just Argentina, but to the continent, by providing songs in the English language, and for providing a visceral counterpoint to the progressive-influenced themes that dominated Spanish-language rock at that time. Prodan was the older brother of Italian film actor and composer, Andrea Prodan.

Crucecita is a town of the Avellaneda Partido in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires urban agglomeration. The town is named for the Arroyo de la Crucecita (Crossing Stream) encountered by a 1580 expedition led by Captain Juan de Garay, the founder of modern-day Buenos Aires. The Real Consulado de Buenos Aires ordered a pontoon bridge built over the stream in 1810, and much of the surrounding land later belonged to the Ximenez family. A wave of immigration in Argentina after 1880 led to the southward expansion of the Buenos Aires metro area part Avellaneda, and the first lots in Crucecita were sold to homesteaders in 1887. Following the inaugural of a Ferrocarril Provincial de Buenos Aires station at the site, the Masllorens Brothers factory, a textile maker, was inaugurated in Crucesita by immigrants from Barcelona. The Club Social y Deportivo Unión de Crucecita, the local football club, was established in 1939. Presidente Bartolomé Mitre Avenue connects the suburb to Avellaneda, to the north, and Sarandí, to the south.

Wilde is a city in the Avellaneda Partido, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Wilde is the most populous district in Avellaneda, with a total of 65,881 inhabitants (as of a 2001 census). It is a part of the Greater Buenos Aires urban agglomeration. The city originated as an estancia founded by Luis Gaitán c. 1600. The settlement was the site of the first salthouse in what is now Argentina. In 1888, Eduardo Wilde named it after his uncle, Doctor José Antonio Wilde (1813–1887). Wilde was a physician who led local efforts to improve public health, including obtaining permits for the construction of the local hospital and sewer system. The 1885 opening of a Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway station at the site led to the establishment of Villa Jurado, the city's first subdivision (1889).Following a movement of English gardens, the city was developed by local architects as the residential borough of Avellaneda. Large grounds previously utilized by the local "gauchos" for the training of horses and farming land were eventually converted into large parks, and the region became a popular area for weekend cottages. Wilde rapidly developed into a small city, while keeping countryside aesthetics with its residential borough. On the east end of Wilde, there is a large coastal area with a sandy beach linked to the Río de la Plata, from where it is possible to see (on clear days) the coast of Uruguay.

Diario Popular is a local newspaper published in Sarandí, Argentina. It is read widely in the surrounding southern Greater Buenos Aires suburbs of Avellaneda, Lanús, and Quilmes and maintains third place behind the two large Argentine newspapers in terms of circulation. Police, sports, and entertainment news occupy the main spaces and supplements of Diario Popular. Both for its content, style and design, It is aimed at the lower middle class. It has many of the characteristic features of the yellow press, in terms of the use of colors, fonts, use of colloquial language, and exclamation marks in titles.Currently, its average circulation on sundays is 135,704 copies, and 85,929 from monday to friday. The newspaper remains a family business, with a majority in the shareholding composition of the Kraiselburd and Fascetto families.

El Estadio de Los Inmigrantes (The Immigrants Stadium) gained its name from its proximity to the port zone of Avellaneda to which immigrants arrived in search of a better life, many of them originating from Europe but with a large number also coming from places such as the Cape Verde Islands. The stadium is the home ground of Club Sportivo Dock Sud a club that currently plays in the Primera C Metropolitana of the Argentine Football Association league system. The current capacity of the stadium is 5,000 and the club has almost completed the construction of a new popularstanding section that will have given the stadium a new capacity of around 7,800. Gerli is a town in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It lies in the partidos of Avellaneda and Lanús and forms part of the Greater Buenos Aires urban agglomeration.

The Latin Rite Catholic Diocese of Avellaneda-Lanús (erected 10 April 1961, as the Diocese of Avellaneda) is in Argentina and is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires. It was renamed on 24 April 2001.

The Estadio Racing Club, popularly known as Estadio Alsina y Colón, was an association football stadium in Avellaneda, a suburb of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was the home ground of Racing Club before they moved to Estadio Juan Domingo Perón in 1950, and was located in the intersection of Alsina and Colón streets, hence been sometimes referred as 'Estadio de Alsina y Colón'. The stadium held 50,000 spectators. It was one of two stadiums that hosted the first Copa América in 1916, along with Gimnasia y Esgrima. The stadium was closed in December 1946 to build the Estadio Presidente Juan Domingo Perón which was inaugurated in 1950.

Racing Club de Avellaneda, officially known as Racing Club or shortened to just Racing, is an Argentine professional sports club based in Avellaneda, a city of Buenos Aires Province. Founded in 1903, Racing has been historically considered one of the "big five" clubs of Argentine football, and is also known as "El Primer Grande" (The first big club), for becoming the first club in the world to win seven league titles in a row, first Argentine club to win a national cup, and the first world champion (Intercontinental Cup) Argentine club. Racing currently plays in the Primera División, the top division of the Argentine league system, and plays its home games at Estadio Presidente Perón, nicknamed El Cilindro de Avellaneda (in English: "The Cylinder of Avellaneda"). Racing has won the Primera División 18 times, with a record of seven consecutive championships between 1913 and 1919, five of which were won undefeated. Not only does Racing hold the record for the most consecutive titles in Argentine football history, but it is also the only team in South America to achieve such a feat, along with being one of only four clubs ( the others are Olympique de Lyon, Bayern Munich and Juventus) to be a seven-time champion of world-cup winning nations.The club also has 13 National cups to its name, which include five Copa Ibarguren, four Copa de Honor Municipalidad de Buenos Aires and one Copa Beccar Varela. Due to those achievements the team was nicknamed La Academia ("The Academy of Football") which still identifies the club and its supporters.On the international stage, the club has won 6 titles, with 3 of them organised by CONMEBOL and other international bodies. Those achievements include one Copa Libertadores, one Intercontinental Cup and the first edition of the Supercopa Libertadores.The team's home colors are sky blue and white striped, similar to the national team. The shorts and socks have shifted between black, navy blue or white. Apart from football, other sports practised at Racing are artistic gymnastics, basketball, beach soccer, boxing, chess, field hockey, futsal, handball, martial arts, roller skating, tennis and volleyball.

The Estadio Juan Domingo Perón, popularly known as El Cilindro de Avellaneda, is an association football stadium located in the Avellaneda district of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina. The stadium is the home venue of Racing Club.The stadium was designed by German engineers, some of them with experience in the reconstruction of cities destroyed in the World War II. It has a capacity of 61,000 spectators, being the second largest stadium of Argentina, after Estadio Monumental. Racing venue was the first stadium to have roof grandstands, after refurbishment made in the 1990s.The "Presidente Perón" replaced Estadio Alsina y Colón, which was closed in 1947.
