Rudnik (pronounced [ˈɾuːdnik]) is a former village that is now included in the southern part of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola.

The Rudnik District (pronounced [ˈɾuːdnik], Slovene: Četrtna skupnost Rudnik), or simply Rudnik, is a district (mestna četrt) of the City Municipality of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is named after the former village of Rudnik.

Golovec is a forested hill southeast of the center of Ljubljana, Slovenia. Its highest peak is Mazovnik (450 m); other peaks include the slightly lower Črni hrib (440/442 m), Luknje (431/438 m), Golovec (413 m), Zeleni hrib (354 m), Hruševski hrib (408 m), and Bizoviški hrib (363 m). Golovec represents a continuation of Rožnik and Grajski grič, and is an integral part of the Lithic anticline or Sava Hills, which continues in the ridge to the east with the village of Orle or Hrastovec (408 m) south of it, Molnik (582 m) and Pugled (615 m), while further north lie Dobrunjski hrib (429 m), Breznik (384 m) and Sveti Urh (342 m) and Zadvorski hrib (401 m) and in the valley the smaller but relatively steep hill Marenček (415 m). Golovec covers 650 hectares, of which 635 (or 675) are covered by forest (red pine and spruce, with beech in the central part), which stretches from Gruber Canal to the city, marked by the motorway ring around Ljubljana. It is protected as a special purpose forest area. It is considered a recreational and walking area for the people of Ljubljana - the Golovec City Forest, but it has not been declared a landscape park. In the flat part of the Ljubljana polje, there are few forests due to urbanization and agriculture. The Ljubljana Golovec District is named after the hill. The two-tube, three-lane highway Tunnel Golovec, opened in 1999, runs through it. Golovec is home to the Golovec Astronomical and Geophysical Observatory (AGO), which was expanded in 1959.

It belongs to the City Municipality of Ljubljana. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.

The Buddhist Congregation Dharmaling is a Buddhist organization, which main office is registered to the Office for religious communities of the Government of Slovenia. Buddhist Congregation Dharmaling is also signatory of an agreement with the State of Slovenia, and is as such the 6th religious community to have signed such agreement in Slovenia (after the four Christian faiths and the Muslim community). Following primarily the Gelug lineage, the head of the organization, Lama Shenphen Rinpoche – a Western reborn and officially recognized tulku by the Tibetan community – has a non sectarian (Rime) type of approach. The Congregation’s teachings and practices are traditional, but are adapted to be accessible to Westerners and the life they live. A regular program of teaching exists in different countries and more periodical teachings are taking places in other countries where a study group exists. Retreats and seminars are also organized each year. Dharmaling is also active in the humanitarian fields, through AMCHI non profit organization created since 1989, and its Foundation.

Zgornja Hrušica (pronounced [ˈzɡoːɾnja ˈxɾuːʃitsa]; in older sources also Gorenja Hrušica, German: Oberbirnbaum) is a formerly independent settlement southeast of the capital Ljubljana in central Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Ljubljana. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.

Kodeljevo Sports Park (Slovene: Športni park Kodeljevo) is a multi-purpose stadium in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of ND Slovan. The stadium opened in 1959 and the main stand was built in 1965. It is located in a larger sports complex, which includes a multi-purpose arena, an Olympic swimming pool and tennis courts.

The Ljubljana Botanical Garden (Slovene: Ljubljanski botanični vrt), officially the University of Ljubljana Botanical Garden (Botanični vrt Univerze v Ljubljani), is the central Slovenian botanical garden, the oldest botanical garden in Southeastern Europe, and one of the oldest cultural, scientific, and educational organisations in Slovenia. Its headquarters are located in the Rudnik District of Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital, at Ig Street (Ižanska cesta) along the Gruber Canal to the southeast of Castle Hill. The garden started operating under the leadership of Franc Hladnik in 1810, when Ljubljana was the capital of the Illyrian Provinces. It is thus an averagely old European botanical garden. The institution is a member of the international network Botanic Gardens Conservation International and cooperates with more than 270 botanical gardens all across the world. Of over 4,500 plant species and subspecies that grow on 2 hectares (4.9 acres), roughly a third is endemic to Slovenia, whereas the rest originate from other European places and other continents.

Lavrica (pronounced [ˈlaːu̯ɾitsa], in older sources also Laverca) is a settlement in central Slovenia. It lies southeast of the capital Ljubljana in the Municipality of Škofljica.

Daljna Vas (pronounced [ˈdaːlna ˈʋaːs], Slovene: Daljna vas, in older sources also Dalenja Vas, German: Doleinawaß) is a former village in central Slovenia in the Municipality of Škofljica. It is now part of the village of Lavrica. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.

Spodnja Hrušica (pronounced [ˈspoːdnja ˈxɾuːʃitsa]; in older sources also Dolenja Hrušica, German: Unterbirnbaum) is a formerly independent settlement southeast of the capital Ljubljana in central Slovenia. It belongs to the City Municipality of Ljubljana. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Central Slovenia Statistical Region.
