Michigan's 8th congressional district

Howell Township is a civil township of Livingston County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 6,702 at the 2010 census, up from 5,679 at the 2000 census. The township is bordered on the southeast by the city of Howell, but the two are administered autonomously.

Howell High School is a coed public secondary school in Howell, Michigan, United States. The school serves grades 9-12 for the Howell Public School District.

The Livingston Educational Service Agency (LESD) is an intermediate school district in Michigan, headquartered in Howell. Most of Livingston County is served by the Livingston Educational Service Agency, which coordinates the efforts of local boards of education, but has no operating authority over schools. Local school boards in Michigan retain great autonomy over day-to-day operations.

Howell is the largest city and county seat of Livingston County, Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 10,068. The city is mostly surrounded by Howell Township, but the two are administered autonomously. Howell is part of the South Lyon–Howell–Brighton Urban Area, which is an extension of the larger Detroit–Warren–Dearborn (Metro Detroit) Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The George Louk Farm is a rural farmstead located at 1885 Tooley Road near Howell, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

The Michigan Challenge Balloonfest is an annual hot air balloon festival established in 1985 and held in Howell, Michigan during the last weekend of June. The event draws crowds from all over Michigan and its surrounding states, with attendance often topping 100,000 over the three-day weekend. The festival is hosted by the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce, takes place at Howell High School, and is run by head of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce, Janelle Best, as well as balloonmeister and competition director, Phil Clinger.The 36th annual Michigan Challenge Balloonfest was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and instead took place in 2021.

Livingston County Spencer J. Hardy Airport (ICAO: KOZW, FAA LID: OZW) is a county-owned public-use airport located three miles (5 km) northwest of the central business district of Howell, a city in Livingston County, Michigan, United States. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a regional reliever airport facility.Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Livingston County Spencer J. Hardy Airport is assigned OZW by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.

The Ann Arbor Railway Howell Depot is a railroad depot located at 128 Wetmore Street in Howell, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. The depot is currently used as the Howell Depot Museum.

The John H. and Martha Durfee Galloway House is a single-family home located at 216 Higgins Street in Howell, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Howell Opera House is an opera house located in Howell, Michigan. The site is listed as historic by The Michigan State Historic Preservation Office. It is also listed on The National Historic Register as part of the Howell Downtown Historic District.

The Livingston County Courthouse is a government building located at 200 East Grand River Avenue in Howell, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Frank J. Hecox House, also known as the House of the Seven Gables, is a single-family home located at 3720 West Grand River Avenue near Howell, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. It is a rare example of Second Empire architecture in the region.
