Fındıklı is the northernmost neighbourhood of the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey, on the European coast of the Bosphorus. Tophane is to the south and Kabataş to the north. Towards the water it is a mainly business and hotel district although it becomes residential in the streets running uphill towards Gümüşsuyu. Fındıklı is served by the T1 tram service. Along the waterfront, the quarter is home to the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, which is housed in what were once the Twin Palaces (Çifte Saraylar) of Münire Sultan and Cemile Sultan, the daughters of Sultan Abdülmecid. The small Fındıklı Park beside it contains sculptures created by the students of the university. The Twin Palaces briefly housed the Ottoman Parliament (Meclis-i Mebusan) The waterfront Molla Çelebi Mosque was designed by the Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan in 1561-62. It was once part of a complex with a dervish lodge (tekke) and hamam but these were both lost to the widening of the Meclis-i Mebusan coast road. The imposing free-standing Hekimoğlu Ali Paşa Fountain stands at the point where Fındıklı merges with neighbouring Kabataş. It was built in 1732 for Hekimoğlu Ali Paşa who served as rand vizier twice and originally stood on higher ground on the inland side of the road before being moved when the coast road was widened.

The Taksim German Hospital (Turkish: Taksim Alman Hastanesi) is a health care institution in Cihangir, Istanbul which is owned by the Universal Hospitals Group since 1992. It was closed for a three-year refurbishment and re-opened in 1995. The hospital had around 300 beds. It shut down most of its clinics during 2013 and closed its doors indefinitely following a temporary, one-month closure in 2014.The hospital was founded in 1852 by three nurses working to the model of German Pastor Theodor Fliedner.

Ağa Hamamı is a historical Turkish bath (Turkish: hamam) located on Turnacıbaşı street in the Taksim Square neighborhood of Istanbul, Turkey. It was constructed by İbrahim Ağa in 1454.

Taksim Surp Harutyun Church (Armenian: Սուրբ Յարութիւն Եկեղեցի), is an Armenian Church in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul. The original date of first construction is not known but the church was removed in 1846, closed down in 1890 and rebuilt in 1895 by the architects Hovhannes and Mıgırdiç Esayan.

Cihangir is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Beyoğlu, Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its population is 3,739 (2022). It is between Taksim Square and Kabataş. It has many narrow streets, two parks, and many street cafes especially in and around Akarsu Yokuşu Sokağı. The neighbourhood has a bohemian reputation. It is known for its artists, writers, actors, and expatriates - as well as large army of street cats. It was also a stronghold for protesters during the Gezi Park protests.Cihangir was named after Şehzade Cihangir whose heart-broken father, Suleiman the Magnificent, had Mimar Sinan build a mosque overlooking the Bosphorus to commemorate his death. The name means "conqueror" in Turkish and, in turn, comes from the Persian compound word jahan + gir (جهانگیر), meaning "conqueror of the world". Today, the Cihangir Mosque, originally built in 1559 but reconstructed in 1889, offers views across the Bosphorus to Sarayburnu.In 2012, the British newspaper The Guardian included Cihangir and neighbouring Çukurcuma in the list of the five best places in the world to live, next to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in Spain; the district of Sankt Pauli, in Hamburg, the north coast of Maui, in Hawaii and Portland, in the state of Oregon (United States).Ece Temelkuran wrote that this neighbourhood is like Soho, Manhattan.

The Hagia Triada ("Holy Trinity"; Greek: Ιερός Ναός Αγίας Τριάδος, romanized: Ierós Naós Agías Triádos; Turkish: Aya Triada Rum Ortodoks Kilisesi) is a Greek Orthodox church in Istanbul, Turkey. The building was erected in 1880 and is considered the largest Greek Orthodox shrine in Istanbul today. It is still in use by the Greek community of Istanbul. It has about 150 parishioners. The church is located in the district of Beyoğlu, in the neighborhood of Katip Çelebi, on Meşelik sokak, near Taksim Square.

The 2022 Istanbul bombing occurred on İstiklal Avenue in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey, on 13 November 2022 (2022-11-13), killing six people and injuring 81 others. The bombing is regarded as a terrorist attack. The city experienced previous terrorist attacks during the late 20th and early 21st century by Kurdish separatists and Islamist insurgents. An Islamic State suicide bombing in the same district killed four people in 2016.No group has claimed responsibility, but Turkish authorities announced that Kurdish separatists were behind the attack, implicating the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the Syrian Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Turkey's interior minister, Süleyman Soylu, announced the arrest of the bomber and forty-six others.PKK, and SDF denied involvements in the bombing, denounced it, and offered their condoleances. On 20 November, Turkey launched Operation Claw-Sword, bombing nearly 500 targets in Syria and Iraq. Top SDF officials called for resuming peace talks, avoid a deadly conflict, and vowed resistance if attacked.

Akbank Sanat is an art center founded by the Turkish bank Akbank in 1993. The art center is located in Beyoğlu, İstanbul and organizes over 700 events every year.

On 19 March 2016, a suicide bombing took place in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district in front of the district governor's office. The attack occurred at 10:55 (EET) at the intersection of Balo Street with İstiklal Avenue, a central shopping street. The attack caused at least five deaths, including that of the perpetrator. Thirty-six people were injured, including seven whose injuries were severe. Among those injured were twelve foreign tourists. Among those killed, two were of dual Israel-US nationality. On 22 March, the Turkish interior minister said that the bomber had links with ISIL.

The Orhan Kemal Literature Museum (Turkish: Orhan Kemal Müzesi) is a literary museum and archive in Istanbul, Turkey dedicated to Turkish literature, and named after novelist Orhan Kemal (1914–1970). Established with the support of Orhan Kemal Culture and Arts Center, the museum is situated in a five-story building in Cihangir neighborhood of Beyoglu. On display are photographs about his private life taken by Ara Güler, family photographs, original first edition of his books, his private letters, critics, articles and dissertations about his works. His study room contains his typewriter and many other personal belongings. His death mask is also exhibited in the museum. The building houses a bibliothek and a cafeteria for visitors.It is accessible by walking from Taksim Square, and is open from 9:00 to 18:00 local time except Sundays. Admission is free of charge.

Changa is a restaurant in Istanbul, Turkey, established in 1999 and located close to Taksim Square. It is owned by restaurateurs Tarık Bayazıt and Savaş Ertunç, and operated under the consultancy and supervision of the renowned Kiwi chef Peter Gordon. In 2002, Changa was chosen 39th of the world's 50 top restaurants by the Restaurant magazine.Named after the Swahili language word for "mix", Changa is situated in a restored house of Art Nouveau style built in 1903, occupying its all four floors. The interior is a combination of classic style with modern elements. The restaurant can host 90 people at a time and the bar can handle up to 40. For private occasions, the dining room on the fourth floor can accommodate between twelve and thirty persons.The kitchen presents Turkish cuisine blended in line with modern style dishes of Pacific Rim utilizing fusion-method cookery that allows natural ingredients with international flavors to be marinated, cooked and served all in harmony on the same plate. Fusion food is cooking without borders, melting two or more ingredients from two different cuisines to create a new single dish that complements the individual flavors and ingredients. The fusion technique is centuries-old and was born when the Chinese people moved to America, the Americans adopted the Mexican food, the Africans came to Europe and the French discovered the Indo-Chinese cuisine. However, this type of food was criticized by some gastronomers for having no rules and no defined techniques without respecting the traditional recipes.In addition to its ranking at the "Top 50", the venue was honored in 2002 with "Overall Excellence Award" by the Time Out magazine.

Çukurcuma (pronounced chu-KUR-ju-ma; meaning "Friday Valley" in Turkish) is a district of Beyoğlu (in Istanbul, Turkey), made up of the Kuloğlu and Firuzağa neighbourhoods. It lies south-east of İstiklal Caddesi in a valley, not far from Galatasaray Square and between the Tomtom and Cihangir neighbourhoods. The main thoroughfare is Çukurcuma Caddesi. The buildings largely date from the 19th century, although there has also been a lot of 20th-century development. Çukurcuma is full of antique shops and cafés and has a rather European character. The constituency tends to vote for the CHP. In 2008 The Guardian devoted an article to Çukurcuma. In 2012, the newspaper described it as one of the five best places to live worldwide.
