Finsbury Estate is a large-scale housing estate in the Finsbury area of London, England, comprising four purpose-built blocks of flats located on a level site, providing 451 residences. Patrick Coman House and Michael Cliffe House are high-rise blocks of 9 and 25 storeys respectively, while Joseph Trotter House and Charles Townsend House are of four storeys. Amenities include a community centre and library, below-ground car parking, a ball-games area and a playground area. Islington Council received lottery-money funding to develop a new Islington Museum which opened beneath the library on the estate in 2008. A former museum at the Islington Town Hall closed on 15 December 2006.

Islington Local History Centre is a local studies centre and archive which holds material documenting the history of the London Borough of Islington.

At the 1908 Summer Olympics, five boxing events were contested. All of the boxing was conducted on 27 October. The event was held in the Northampton Institute in Clerkenwell, East London.There were three rounds in each bout, with the first two rounds being three minutes long and the last one going four minutes. Two judges scored the match, giving 5 points to the better boxer in each of the first two rounds and 7 to the better boxer in the third round. Marks were given to the other boxer in proportion to how well he did compared to the better. If the judges were not agreed on a winner at the end of the bout, the referee could either choose the winner or order a fourth round.

Spa Green Estate between Rosebery Avenue and St John St in Clerkenwell, London EC1, England, is the most complete post-war realisation of a 1930s radical plan for social regeneration through Modernist architecture. Conceived as public housing, it is now a mixed community of private owners and council tenants, run by a resident-elected management organization. In 1998 this work by the architect Berthold Lubetkin received a Grade II* listing (the grade higher than II) for its architectural significance, and the major 2008 restoration brought back the original colour scheme, which recalls Lubetkin's contacts with Russian Constructivism.

The Family Records Centre (FRC) provided access to family history research sources mainly for England and Wales. It was administered jointly by the General Register Office (GRO) and The National Archives. It opened in March 1997 and was fully operational by the following month. It was situated at 1 Myddelton Street, Clerkenwell, London, close to the London Metropolitan Archives. It closed in 2008. Throughout the FRC, there was free access to a wide range of family history material, databases and internet websites. Staff were always available to provide help and advice on family history research and there were regular one-to-one family history surgeries and computer skills tutorials. Talks on family history topics took place every week and other events, including exhibitions and conferences, were organised. There were good facilities for customers with special needs, and there was a small bookshop next to the entrance on the ground floor and a refreshment area with vending machines and lockers for personal belongings in the basement. Its main resources were indexes to civil registration of births, marriages and deaths on the ground floor (provided by the GRO), and the Victorian census returns on the first floor (provided by The National Archives).

St John Street is a historic street located in Clerkenwell, Islington, north London, England.The street runs from Smithfield Market and Charterhouse Street in the south to the junction of City Road and Pentonville Road (near Upper Street) in the north, close to the Angel tube station. It is the first section of the original route of the Great North Road. The Red Bull Theatre was located on the street between 1604 and 1666, when it was destroyed in the Great Fire of London. James Burnett, Lord Monboddo (1714–1799) lived at 13 St John Street. He held "learned suppers" at his house, with guests including James Boswell, Robert Burns and Samuel Johnson. Nowadays there are many office buildings, restaurants, and bars in the street.

Sadler's Wells Theatre is a performing arts venue in Clerkenwell, London, England located on Rosebery Avenue next to New River Head. The present-day theatre is the sixth on the site since 1683. It consists of two performance spaces: a 1,500-seat main auditorium and the Lilian Baylis Studio, with extensive rehearsal rooms and technical facilities also housed within the site. Sadler's Wells is renowned as one of the world's leading dance venues. As well as a stage for visiting companies, the theatre is also a producing house, with a number of associated artists and companies that produce original works for the theatre. Sadler's Wells is also responsible for the management of the Peacock Theatre in the West End, during times not used by the London School of Economics.

Clerkenwell () is an area of central London, England. Clerkenwell was an ancient parish from the mediaeval period onwards, and now forms the south-western part of the London Borough of Islington. The well after which it was named was rediscovered in 1924. The watchmaking and watch repairing trades were once of great importance.

New River Head is a historic site located adjacent to Sadler's Wells Theatre on Rosebery Avenue in the Clerkenwell area of London, England. Originally it was the London terminus of the New River, an artificial watercourse opened in 1613 to supply water to London. Subsequently the site also became the headquarters for the New River Company, the owners of the New River, and for its successors, the Metropolitan Water Board, the Thames Water Authority and Thames Water plc. Following relocation of most of the operational and administrative functions of the site, it is now largely a residential estate, with apartments in a mixture of repurposed existing and new buildings surrounding a private garden area on the site of the old filter beds. There is public access to a view point over the gardens. At the rear of the building (not open to the public) there is the remains of the medieval conduit-head of the water supply of the London Greyfriars, discovered in Bloomsbury in 1911 and re-erected here in 1927.The former head office building is a grade II* listed building. The former laboratory building, remains of the Round Pond, Greyfriars conduit head, former engine house and former windmill are all grade II listed buildings.

Spirit Young Performers Company is an organisation offering performing arts classes, based in London, notable for producing original musical numbers and releasing them online to YouTube to millions of online viewers. New performance videos are uploaded every week. The company was created in 2013 by Sophie Boyce and uses multi-camera crews to showcase its students performing.Among the students at Spirit Young Performers Company are young cast members from West End's Matilda the Musical, Billy Elliot the Musical, School of Rock (musical) and Les Misérables. The company has produced work with Olivier-Award-Winners Cleo Demetriou, Sophia Kiely and Kerry Ingram, as well as other notable young performers and child stars such as Lara Wollington, Adrianna Bertola, Sezen Djouma, Kerry Ingram and Chloe Hawthorn. Students have also gone on to work in films and Netflix Series.Notable public performances by Spirit YPC include supporting Andrea Bocelli as his children's choir at the O2 Arena, performing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Mary Poppins on the ITV television show Keep it in the Family in 2015, performing a medley from Bring It On the Musical at West End Live in Trafalgar Square, and appearing in 'Magic at the Musicals' at the Royal Albert Hall, which was also broadcast on Magic Radio. Other performances include the Royal National Theatre Gala, the Hackney Empire, and the Main Stage at MOVE IT. In 2019, Spirit contributed to the London School Strike for Climate with a live performance of their original song #Emergency, written by Sophie Boyce and Fred Feeney.Performances by Spirit YPC have been publicly recognised by West End and Broadway social media channels, including those of Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Waitress (musical) and Come From Away. In 2020, Spirit's Hamilton Medley was aired on Disney Plus as part of their Hamilton (musical) special.

The Metropolitan Borough of Finsbury was a Metropolitan borough within the County of London from 1900 to 1965, when it was amalgamated with the Metropolitan Borough of Islington to form the London Borough of Islington.
