Beacon Hill, Dorset

St Aldhelm's Church is a private church in Lytchett Heath, Dorset, England. It was designed by George Crickmay for Lord Eustace Cecil and built in 1898. It has been a Grade II* listed building since 1984. The lychgate of the churchyard is also Grade II listed.

Lytchett Minster and Upton, formerly just Lytchett Minster is a civil parish in the Dorset district, in the ceremonial county of Dorset, England. The parish comprises the village of Lytchett Minster and the nearby built up area of Upton, which is contiguous with the urban area of Poole. The parish has an area of 14.35 square kilometres. At the time of the 2001 census, it had a population of 7,573 living in 3,227 dwellings. The parish forms part of the Purbeck local government district of the county of Dorset. It is within the Mid Dorset and North Poole constituency of the House of Commons. Prior to Brexit in 2020, it was in the South West England constituency of the European Parliament. On 19 July 1986 the parish was rename from "Lytchett Minster" to "Lytchett Minster & Upton".

Lytchett Heath is an area of woods and farmland on the Dorset Heaths between the villages of Lytchett Matravers, Lytchett Minster and the hamlet of Beacon Hill in the county of Dorset, England. Part of it is a reserve managed jointly by the Dorset Wildlife Trust and the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust. St Aldhelm's was built in 1898 as a private church for Lord Eustace Cecil.

Stoney Down or Stony Down is both a hill and an area of forested countryside in the county of Dorset, England, that has been designated an "Area of Great Landscape Value" (AGLV) in the East Dorset Local Plan. The forest is known as the Stoney Down Plantation or Stony Down Plantation. It covers an area of 51.13 hectares (126.3 acres). The area is popular with riders and walkers.

Upton is a town in south-east Dorset, England. Upton is to the east of Holton Heath and Upton Heath, and to the north of the Poole suburb of Hamworthy. It is the second largest town in the Purbeck Hills.

Upton Heath is one of the largest remaining fragments of a heath that once stretched across central southern England from Dorchester to Christchurch and beyond. Today it is confined to an area immediately west of Upton and Poole, much of which is protected. From the Heath there are views across Poole Harbour, Corfe Castle and the Isle of Purbeck.

The school uses a house system to arrange the students. The head of house remains the same person for each pupil for the whole first 5 years of school. In the upper school there is no house system.

Lytchett Bay is located close to the town of Upton, Dorset, United Kingdom. It is possible to walk from Lytchett Bay to Rockley Park via the shoreline path that borders the Turlin Moor estate. The most interesting part of Lychett Bay can however, only be accessed via the Turlin Moor estate and consists of areas of saltmarsh and tiny beaches. Walking from the beach where boats are moored it takes nearly 40 minutes to walk the shoreline to the far side which has a population of adders. The walk goes through a small wooded area where deer can sometimes be seen and a meadow that is managed with a short spell along a very quiet road. The water can be reached at two separate spots on the far side of Lychett Bay and gives a much better view of the swans and other birds that frequent the bay at different times of the year. Lytchett Bay was a popular children's haunt during the 1980s and 1990s. It was common for boats to wash up on the shore of Lytchett Bay during spells of bad weather. The boats would be hidden away in the reeds, then brought out during the summer months.
