Kenmount Road is a major road in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It begins at the intersection of Freshwater Road and Thorburn Road, just east of the Columbus Drive overpass. Originally passing through rural farmland, Kenmount Road is now a significant commercial area, with the Avalon Mall at its eastern end, followed by a series of car dealerships, restaurants, hotels, and other businesses. At its western end, Kenmount Road intersects Topsail Road and the Trans-Canada Highway, and has been extended into the Town of Paradise, where it runs into another road, McNamara Drive. O'Leary Industrial Park is located just north of Kenmount Road, with access via Pippy Place and Peet Street. Further west, past the intersection with the Team Gushue Highway, lies the Kelsey Drive big-box retail area. West of Kelsey Drive, the new Kenmount Terrace subdivision is currently under development. In the 2022 provincial budget it was announced that a school would be constructed in Kenmount Terrace, a first for the area.The Trans-Canada Highway originally continued down Kenmount Road, prior to the construction of the Outer Ring Road in the 1990s, which diverted the highway onto a new alignment across the north of the city. The overpass that carries Kenmount Road (originally the Trans-Canada Highway) over Topsail Road holds a special place in the province. One of the first highway interchanges constructed in the province, it has come to represent the boundary between the St. John's urban region and the remainder of the island. The phrase "beyond the overpass" is commonly used to refer collectively to all areas of Newfoundland that lie outside the boundaries of metro St. John's.

CKSJ-FM (101.1 MHz, Coast 101.1) is a radio station broadcasting in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Approved by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in 2003, the station began broadcasting on February 12, 2004, and is the most recent radio station to have launched in that city. It is owned by Coast Broadcasting, which is owned by local businessman Andrew Bell. While launching as an adult contemporary station, it now defines its format as classic hits, concentrating primarily on older music. As of 2011, the station's classic hits format consists of music from the 1970s through 1990s. Specialty programs airing on the station include The '70s with Charlie Tuna, and Cool Jazz on the Coast hosted by Bill Sharpe. On August 1, 2014, Coast Broadcasting was given permission to add a new FM transmitter in Clarenville, simulcasting CKSJ in areas where reception of the primary signal is difficult. CKSJ-FM-1 went on the air in July 2015 at 107.5 MHz to the Clarenville area. In July 2016, the CRTC approved a change in ownership for the station. Co-owner Andrew Bell had applied to take over 100% of the company.

The Avalon Mall is a Canadian shopping mall located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador on Kenmount Road. With over 500,000 square feet (46,000 m2), two floors, and 142 stores, it is the largest shopping mall in Newfoundland and Labrador. The mall opened in 1967 and is owned by Crombie REIT.

CJYQ is an AM radio station broadcasting at 930 kHz in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Owned by Stingray Group and airing a country format, the station is currently branded as New Country 930.

The Memorial University of Newfoundland Botanical Garden is operated by Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located on Mount Scio Road in the suburbs of St. John's, and was founded in 1971 under the supervision of Dr. Bernard Jackson. Originally named the Oxen Pond Botanic Park, the gardens were opened to the public in 1977 and became a not-for-profit organization in 1994. The garden and nature trails were developed to provide a place where people of all ages and depths of interest can learn about the plants and natural environment of Newfoundland. The official emblem of the garden is the twinflower (Linnaea borealis).

Mount Pearl North, formerly known as Waterford Valley, is a provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. As of 2011, there are 9,622 eligible voters living within the district.This suburban district includes the northern part of the city of Mount Pearl and part of the city of St. John's. The district was created in 2007 using 79 per cent of the old Waterford Valley district and smaller sections of Mount Pearl and Topsail districts. The district was reconfigured in 2015.

Kilbride is a neighbourhood in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. Kilbride was once a village located southwest of St. John's. The Way Office was established in 1889 and the first Waymaster was Edward Morris. It had Canadian Post status on May 30, 1891. The population was 438 in 1940 and 121 in 1956. Kilbride and the Goulds are served hourly by Metrobus Routes 18 and 25.

Mount Pearl is the fourth-largest settlement and second-largest city in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The city is located southwest of St. John's, on the eastern tip of the Avalon Peninsula on the island of Newfoundland. Mount Pearl is the fourth largest settlement in the province and is part of the St. John's metropolitan area, the 20th largest metropolitan area in Canada.

The Newfoundland School for the Deaf was a provincial school in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador with both residential and day programs serving deaf and hard-of-hearing students. The school taught both elementary and secondary students. Student population was approximately 10 students in the senior school and 20 in the elementary school, total is 30 students. Deaf students from Canada often attend Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., and Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. In August 2010, it was announced that the school would be closing as there would be no students attending in the upcoming school year, and none projected within the next five years; all the students in the province who were deaf or hard-of-hearing were in the public school system.

Bowring Park is located in the Waterford Valley, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Entrance to the park is via Waterford Bridge Road, passing a sculptured duck pond and a Peter Pan statue.

VOAR-FM (96.7 MHz) is a Canadian radio station, which airs a christian format. It is licensed to Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, and serves the St. John's metropolitan area. VOAR is owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Newfoundland & Labrador. Its radio studios and offices are on Topsail Road in Mount Pearl. The transmitter is off Kenmount Road, also in Mount Pearl. The effective radiated power (ERP) is 100,000 watts. VOAR airs a blend of Christian talk and teaching programs along with Contemporary Christian music. Religious leaders heard on VOAR include Charles Stanley, Jim Daly, Joni Eareckson Tada and Chuck Swindoll.

The Parkway is a major arterial road in the city of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It consists of three distinct roads that form a single through route: Columbus Drive, Prince Philip Drive, and Macdonald Drive. A four-lane limited-access road with a speed limit of 70 km/h along most of its length, the parkway begins at an intersection with Pitts Memorial Drive in the city's west end and terminates at Logy Bay Road in the east end.
