Mount Pearl North, formerly known as Waterford Valley, is a provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. As of 2011, there are 9,622 eligible voters living within the district.This suburban district includes the northern part of the city of Mount Pearl and part of the city of St. John's. The district was created in 2007 using 79 per cent of the old Waterford Valley district and smaller sections of Mount Pearl and Topsail districts. The district was reconfigured in 2015.

Donovans was a village located west of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, eastern Canada. It had a population of 325 by 1956. It has been absorbed by the Town of Paradise where population density is 3,338 per square mile.

The city is located southwest of St. John's, on the eastern tip of the Avalon Peninsula on the island of Newfoundland. Mount Pearl is the fourth largest settlement in the province and is part of the St. John's metropolitan area, the 20th largest metropolitan area in Canada.

CKSJ-FM (101.1 MHz, Coast 101.1) is a radio station broadcasting in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Approved by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in 2003, the station began broadcasting on February 12, 2004, and is the most recent radio station to have launched in that city. It is owned by Coast Broadcasting, which is owned by local businessman Andrew Bell. While launching as an adult contemporary station, it now defines its format as classic hits, concentrating primarily on older music. As of 2011, the station's classic hits format consists of music from the 1970s through 1990s. Specialty programs airing on the station include The '70s with Charlie Tuna, and Cool Jazz on the Coast hosted by Bill Sharpe. On August 1, 2014, Coast Broadcasting was given permission to add a new FM transmitter in Clarenville, simulcasting CKSJ in areas where reception of the primary signal is difficult. CKSJ-FM-1 went on the air in July 2015 at 107.5 MHz to the Clarenville area. In July 2016, the CRTC approved a change in ownership for the station. Co-owner Andrew Bell had applied to take over 100% of the company.

Mount Pearl South is a defunct provincial electoral district for the House of Assembly of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Prior to the 2007 provincial election, the district was known as Mount Pearl. Mount Pearl South has seen an expansion in big-box retail outlets in recent years. In 2011, there were 8,114 eligible voters living within the district.The district was created in 1975 and was a Tory stronghold for two decades, with Progressive Conservative Neil Windsor holding the seat from 1975 to 1995. The seat went Liberal in 1996 when Brian Tobin won a large majority government, but returned to the Progressive Conservatives, under Dave Denine, in 2003 when the party swept back to power. Denine won again in the 2007 election. Dave Denine retired just before the writ was dropped in 2011. The 2011 Election was contested between Progressive Conservative nominee Paul Lane, a Mount Pearl city councillor, New Democrat John Riche, a Real Estate Agent and Liberal Norm Snelgrove, a civic administrator. Paul Lane won the 2011 contest by 700 votes on October 11, 2011 and remained the district's MHA until its dissolution. On January 20, 2014 Paul Lane announced he was leaving the governing PC Party to sit with the Opposition Liberal Party. In 2015, an electoral district boundary review resulted in the districts dissolution, with its territory being incorporated into Mount Pearl-Southlands.

Admiralty House is a one-storey, wooden gable-roofed, municipally-designated heritage building originally built as a wireless communications station in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It currently serves as a museum and archives. The building is purported to be the last standing of 11 such identical stations built around the world during the First World War.

VOCM is an AM radio station in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, broadcasting at 590 kHz. Owned by Stingray Group, VOCM first went on the air on October 19, 1936. Through the "VOCM/Big Land FM Radio Network" of stations owned by Stingray, VOCM programming is carried throughout the province. VOCM and its sister station VOCM-FM are among the four radio stations in Canada having call signs beginning with the prefix VO, the ITU prefix issued to the Dominion of Newfoundland before its confederation into Canada in 1949. The other two, VOWR and VOAR-FM, also broadcast in St. John's; all but VOCM-FM predate the confederation. VOCM-FM adopted the callsign in 1982 because of its corporate association with VOCM; all three of the others signed on before 1949, while Newfoundland was still a dominion, and were allowed to keep the "VO" call signs despite the end of Newfoundland's sovereignty. During the time when the United States had bases in Newfoundland and Labrador, the American Forces Radio and Television Service operated radio station with the "VO" call signs including the last - VOUS in Argentia, which closed in the late 1960s. The rest of Canada's radio stations use call signs of CB (for the CBC), CF, CH, CI, CJ and CK. Stingray also owns a number of other AM stations in Newfoundland and Labrador that use VOCM as their main or secondary brand. These stations all have C callsigns.

Kenmount Road is a major road in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It begins at the intersection of Freshwater Road and Thorburn Road, just east of the Columbus Drive overpass. Originally passing through rural farmland, Kenmount Road is now a significant commercial area, with the Avalon Mall at its eastern end, followed by a series of car dealerships, restaurants, hotels, and other businesses. At its western end, Kenmount Road intersects Topsail Road and the Trans-Canada Highway, and has been extended into the Town of Paradise, where it runs into another road, McNamara Drive. O'Leary Industrial Park is located just north of Kenmount Road, with access via Pippy Place and Peet Street. Further west, past the intersection with the Team Gushue Highway, lies the Kelsey Drive big-box retail area. West of Kelsey Drive, the new Kenmount Terrace subdivision is currently under development. In the 2022 provincial budget it was announced that a school would be constructed in Kenmount Terrace, a first for the area.The Trans-Canada Highway originally continued down Kenmount Road, prior to the construction of the Outer Ring Road in the 1990s, which diverted the highway onto a new alignment across the north of the city. The overpass that carries Kenmount Road (originally the Trans-Canada Highway) over Topsail Road holds a special place in the province. One of the first highway interchanges constructed in the province, it has come to represent the boundary between the St. John's urban region and the remainder of the island. The phrase "beyond the overpass" is commonly used to refer collectively to all areas of Newfoundland that lie outside the boundaries of metro St. John's.

Paradise is a town on the Avalon Peninsula in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Paradise is the third largest settlement in the province and is part of the St. John's metropolitan area, the 20th largest metropolitan area in Canada. The town borders the City of St. John's, the City of Mount Pearl, the Town of Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, and the town of Conception Bay South. In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Paradise had a population of 22,957 living in 8,813 of its 9,331 total private dwellings, a change of 7.3% from its 2016 population of 21,389. With a land area of 29.67 km2 (11.46 sq mi), it had a population density of 773.7/km2 (2,004.0/sq mi) in 2021. Based on the 2016 Census, the median income for the Town of Paradise was $107,542 before taxes and a median income of $89,037 after taxes.
